Jacinta hastily packed her belongings. She had to leave this house before Jason kills her. Yes, she loves him, but she that never meant she would endure all this embarrassment because of love.
Jacinta needed to run to her mother’s side for safety. How could she sleep in the guard’s room? That stinky and wretched place. That place was meant for slaves and not her. She would never agree to Jason’s command, she was wealthy and should be treated as a person of high status. Although she was afraid of Jason’s wrath, Jacinta couldn’t bring herself to agree to sleep in the guard’s room.
After packing her belongings, Jacinta opened the door of her room and peeped in the hallway to see if there was anyone in view, but thankfully there was nobody. The reason being, It was already night and most of the people in the castle were already asleep. Jacinta’s passing through the main entrance wasn’t much of a big deal because of that guard who was on her side. She had earlier informed him of her escape, and he promised to make a way out for her.
Jacinta closed the door and sat on her bed, waiting for the guard. She couldn’t leave without the guard confirming that everywhere was cleared.
A soft knock was heard and Jacinta abruptly stood up, the guard entered and told her it was all done, and she could now leave in peace. The guard helped her carry her belongings as they walked out of the room.
As they walked through the hallway, Jacinta suddenly stopped walking and kept looking at a particular spot. The guard looked at her confused. What was wrong? Wasn’t she leaving again? He would rather not get caught or seen with her, he had only managed to put others under control but not the Alphas and as he held Jacinta’s bag, if he were caught, he would be punished for being an accomplice.
“Is everything okay, my lady?” He inquired. Jacinta rolled her eyes at him, and he immediately kept shut.
Jacinta saw some little pieces of broken glasses on the floor, and it caught her attention. The glasses looked exactly like the bottle of portion her mother gave her to give to Jason’s mother. She bent down to pick a piece of the broken glasses and her eyes spotted the cap of the bottle and her eyes widened unknowingly to her. She knew it! Isabella collected the bottle from her hand, so how did it get here? Or did Isabella know of their ill intentions? No! That wasn’t possible, Isabella collected the portion all smile, and Jacinta knew Isabella took every gift her mother gave to her seriously.
Jacinta took one last look at the bottle, and then she continued with her escape. She’ll find out who stole and broke the bottle of the portion. Getting to the compound of the castle, what Jacinta saw, surprised her.
All the soldiers were scattered on the floor, sleeping and snoring like logs of woods. Was this how they all slept? If this was how the soldiers slept, how then did they protect the castle?
“I slipped some sleeping pills into their meals,” The guard spoke, smiling and full of himself. Little wonder! Jacinta knew their sleeping wasn’t ordinary. She had really underestimated this guard, he was beyond what she thought he was, and she’ll use him even more. Jacinta finally left the castle and headed back home.

Jason woke up early as usual. He felt energized and happy. Today was the run day, it was a game where all Alphas will race against each other, before the full moon appears.
Come to think of it, he didn’t see Jacinta throughout yesterday evening/night. Could it be that she decided to be a good girl and sleep in the guard’s room? Anyway, he still needed to go confirm before concluding she obeyed him.
Jason freshened up and after that, he decided to go to the guard’s room to inquire. Jason had a confused look on his face when he entered the compound and saw the guards sleeping like people who were under a spell. What’s happening? It was already morning, and yet, they were still sleeping deeply. Jason growled angrily, when did they become this lazy until the extent of sleeping when it was time for duty?
Jason became suspicious when he saw that after he growled, none of the soldiers moved. He growled again, this time loudly and still no movement. Then he rushed into the guard room and found it empty, Jacinta wasn’t in it.
Jason ran into the house with inhumane speed. He got to Jacinta’s room, pushed it open and found it empty as though no one ever stayed there. Jason growled full of fury and that attracted the attention of the guests in the castle. They began to come out of their room one after the other.
Isabella ran immediately to the direction of where she heard her son’s growl coming from. What was happening again? Was he under attack? Isabella creased her brow when she saw Jason standing in front of Jacinta’s room. What was he doing there with such fury written over his face?
“Son, what’s going…” Isabella stopped in her track when she looked inside the room and saw how empty it was. She was shocked, it looked like Jacinta packed out from the room without leaving even a pin, but why did she leave? What did Jason do to her? Oh, poor girl! Jason must have been treating her so badly for her to have run away. Gosh! She was going to prepare some gift and go apologize to Susan and her daughter for Jason’s misconducts.
“You chased her away with your negligence. You always snapped at her angrily, and now you are upset she left?” Isabella threw at Jason.
“Mother!!!” Jason’s angry voice echoed in the castle, startling his mother. He was very furious, and his mother was trying to add fuel to his anger.
“Almost all my soldiers, if not all, are asleep by this time and Jacinta is missing. Can you explain that mum? This had never happened until I asked Jacinta to sleep in the guard’s room, and then boom! The guards are sleeping like logs of woods. Does that ring a bell?”
It was when Jason heard gasps of surprise and murmurings, that he realized all the castle workers who were awake, and his guests, surrounded him and his mother. He was so blinded by anger that he didn’t notice their presence.
Jason noticed that among all the workers present, it was only one person that was a guard. The moment Jason’s eyes locked with that of the guard, Jason saw fear in his eyes.
The guard began to act funnily, he was visibly shaking, Jason began to move closer to him and he kept moving backwards. Everyone present was looking at the two and was wondering what was wrong.
“Don’t move further!” Alpha Jason roared, and the guard stopped on his track. Jason moved around the guard, scrutinizing him. Why was he acting funny? He never pointed to him as an offender, so why was he shaking like someone caught doing something unpardonable.
“I’m sorry Alpha, I did it! It was me. I added sleeping pills to their meals” The guard confessed amidst crying without being asked due to fear. He was afraid. Offending Jason was looking for death. So he thought it was better for him to confess before Alpha Jason. It was better for him to admit to his crime because not even Jacinta could save him from Jason.
Without asking further, Alpha Jason’s werewolf’s transformation began. His bones cracked and reshaped, muscles expanded, and fur sprouted from his now monstrous body. Jason was so angry that he never waited to hear why did guard did what he did. Jason towered over the guard, radiating an aura of primal strength and undying vengeance.
With lightning speed, Jason lunged forward, his claws extended like deadly daggers. His razor-sharp fangs glistened, hungry for the taste of justice. The guard, overwhelmed by fear and realization of his impending doom, attempted to raise his weapon in defense.
But it’s too late.
With a savage swipe of his powerful claws, Jason slashed through the guard’s feeble defenses. Flesh teared, bones snapped, and blood sprayed into the air. The guard’s desperate cries echoed through the castle, only intensifying the thrill that pulsed through Alpha Jason’s veins.
Driven by an insatiable rage, Jason continued his assault, tearing the guard’s body apart with a blend of savagery and calculated precision. Each strike was deliberate, designed to inflict maximum pain and suffering. It relished in the guard’s agony, reveling in the sweet taste of vengeance fulfilled.
As the guard succumbed to his injuries, life fading from his eyes, Jason stood in triumph. His chest heaved with exertion, coated in the crimson evidence of his wrath.
Jason retreated into the shadows, leaving behind a torn and mangled guard as a chilling warning to all who dared cross his path.
