True to what Agnes said, Tracy and Agnes passed through the pedestrian gate at the back without any restriction. One of the reasons was; since it was the gifting day, numerous people passed through the main entrance, so many soldiers were assigned to guard the main entrance. Another reason was that, Agnes gave Tracy the mask she had on, so she could hide her identity. The few guards that safeguarded the pedestrian gate allowed them to pass without any investigation. The guards thought Tracy was a princess from another Kingdom while Agnes was her maid, so in order not to be accused of being rude to a royal blood, they gave them an easy pass.
Tracy landed on the floor and leaned against a tree. The day has already darkened, and they still haven’t gotten to their destination. They’ve been journeying nonstop for hours now, and Tracy’s wings felt fragile and tired. They were in the heart of a deep forest. Not only that, but they were surrounded by different species of trees with different sizes and height.
Agnes looked at Tracy disdainfully. She was angry at fate for not being fair to her. Agnes had no iota of pity for Tracy, who looked hungry and weak. Obviously, Tracy has never flown to a far distance before. She got everything she wanted without even blinking an eye. Agnes couldn’t call this a long journey, to her, it was a walk around the pack compared to places she had journeyed to in her life. As much as she wanted to stay at that spot and watch the ugly expression on Tracy’s face without stopping, she couldn’t afford to waste any more time in the forest. They were still far from the cave, and they needed to get to the cave at exactly an hour before midnight, that was always when her mistress’s powers were strongest.
“We have to keep going, Your Highness. This place is a very dangerous place to be in.”
Tracy glanced around the forest. The forest felt chilly and creepy. She heard eerie sounds coming from different corners of the forest. Thankfully, she was a fairy, so she could fly as high as she wanted if she ever came in contact with any flesh eating animal. Tracy thought going to see the woman was an easy thing, she never knew it was going to be this hard and draining.
After about five more hours of journeying, they finally stopped in front of a massive tree. Tracy, had never seen anything like this tree before in her life. It was huge and tall. It stood alone gracefully. Tracy couldn’t help but admire how beautiful the tree looked. But Tracy never knew the tree wasn’t an ordinary tree.
Agnes began to mutter some words inaudibly, and suddenly the tree opened.
“Wooow! ” Tracy, who was busy admiring the tree, screamed in terror when it opened. She never knew there was something mesmerizing about this tree. So this tree was a hidden gateway to another place. She had always read about trees being a hidden gateway, but never imagined she will encounter it in reality. Agnes entered the opened tree and Tracy followed her. Of course, she trusted Agnes and knew she wouldn’t hurt her. The tree closed after they entered.
The tree transported them to the mountains. Although it was already night, the views were beautiful. Tracy was amazed and mesmerized by what she was seeing that she didn’t notice Beatrice watching her from her cave that wasn’t far away from where Tracy stood with an evil grin, and Agnes had also long left her.
“Finally, the one who would help me break the spell Mitchell cast is here. It is no other person than one of Mitchell’s stupid daughters,” Beatrice spoke inwardly.
Beatrice was happy to know that the daughter of her enemy who kept her locked out of the kingdom for years was the very one that was going to break the spell her mother cast. Beatrice felt this certain satisfaction by just thinking about it.
“Who is it that you seek child?” Beatrice’s voice echoed, startling Tracy, who was carried away by the natural beauties around her. Tracy trembled when her eyes locked with that of the woman for some seconds. Tracy felt threatened and in defense she made large balls of fire in her hands, ready to attack the woman.
The woman had a blond hair and a beautiful green pair of eyes. The woman was clothed in a flowing crystal blue gown that immediately indicated that she was a water Fairy. Tracy couldn’t place her hands on it, but there was something that felt wrong about this woman. The woman was eluding an evil aura and she was uncomfortable. Tracy turned her back to know if Agnes also saw the woman she was standing right in front of her and to also confirm that she wasn’t hallucinating due to the hunger and tiredness she felt, but when she turned, Agnes was nowhere to be found. Has Agnes abandoned her alone in this forest to be killed by this woman? She was never going to forgive Agnes.
Beatrice watched the young lady in amusement. This Tracy was really something else. Beatrice laughed at the thoughts of Tracy thinking she could fight her, all she needed to do was just snap her fingers a little and Tracy will drop dead. She used to be an expert that trained all kinds of fairies on how to gain mastery and fully unlock the highest level of their magic.
Beatrice knew she had to conceive Tracy, she was the one she was searching for. If she must get the blood from Tracy, she had to act all loving and kind, and she really hated that.
Beatrice took a step forward and Tracy attacked her. Luckily, she was very fast to dodge the ball of fire, but Tracy didn’t stop, she kept throwing balls of fire at Beatrice and Beatrice skillfully dodged all; she wasn’t even slightly touched by any of the balls sent to her from Tracy.
Tracy was frustrated and angry. Where was this woman from? The woman dodged all her attacks in a very calculating manner. She felt as though she was no match for the woman, and that angered her even more. Wait! Why was the woman not fighting back? Perhaps, the woman wanted her to lose her guard before she will attack.
Tracy closed her eyes to focus, and then more dangerous and hotter balls of fire began to form in her hands. Beatrice groaned in frustration, this girl wasn’t as easygoing as the thought. She had to prevent that fire from touching her, it was a dangerous form of fire, it was a means of defense for those who were fire fairies. That fire only got activated when fire fairies felt death threats around them. Beatrice raised her hands to the sky and a forceful wind began to blow. The trees around the mountains shook vehemently.
Tracy, whose eyes were shut, suddenly felt a strong wind blowing. The wind blow so aggressively and almost turned off the balls of fires in her hands, but Tracy, with her eyes still shut, was determined to generate even stronger fire from the deeper realms of her magic, and hence she intensified her focus.
Beatrice was almost losing it, this girl was still creating those fire even after she had sent those heavy winds to distract her. She felt like strangling Tracy to death for frustrating her. It wasn’t as though she couldn’t kill her right now, but If she killed her, how was she going to get another royal born that will offer blood to her?
Beatrice being a water fairy commanded rain and all of a suddenly it began to rain heavily. Rain and fire were enemies, so the rain quenched the fire that Tracy was creating. Tracy, who was now getting drenched, opened her eyes and at the same moment, someone, touched her from behind.
