“Let’s find out tonight!” Marco mumbled.
Karl followed him inside where everyone is going to have dinner. King Darius and Anika were sitting next to each other, Arem was on King Darius’ side and the Governor of Salem was facing the King from the opposite side of the table. Marco and Karl decided to sit beside Anika.
The Governor started the conversation.
“Good evening everyone. I’m so glad that even the King of Valkyrie Kingdom, a place where people feared to embark and his people were here to visit our small town, Salem.” It was a long introduction.
All of them smiled.
“It’s our pleasure to meet you, Governor. We’re glad you accept us as your guest!” Anika mumbled.
The Governor gaze at her and he stared at her for a minute. She’s afraid that he saw her somewhere.
“You look familiar, my lady Anika! I think I saw your face before?” He asked her.
Anika took a sip of red wine and set her lovely smile at him.
“A beauty of mine can be seen anywhere, right my King?” She bravely uttered and shifted her lustrous eyes to King Darius.
“Yes, that’s why she’s my favorites!” The king replied with enthusiasm.
The Governor believed him but he’s not convinced that much.
“Are you a hunter? Why you’re with them? You’re not a Valkyrian!” The Governor asked Arem.
Arem quickly answered back.
“I came here to help them find this lady’s parents, sire!” He said.
The Governor nod his head and smiled at the King.
“I hope you will find what you’re looking for, my Lord. Cheers! Let’s pray for the best in your journey!” The Governor raised his glass with wine and made a toast to everyone.
It’s eleven in the evening and Anika went outside to confirmed that the King was sound asleep. She went to the boy’s room.
“Guys, he’s sleeping. Can bee just sneak out? I can’t do it!” Her voice sounded like a hush to avoid making noise.
They all got up and Karl went outside to see if someone was there.
“Negative! No one is awake!” Karl informed all of them inside the room.
Marco holds Anika’s shoulders.
“Kill him or else he will find us everywhere. Darius is evil! Don’t underestimate him!” He said.
Anika must do what’s in the plan. For her to be free from the King and go in with her mission, she must kill him and they will escape from the inn. No one will suspect them if she his death will look like he got assault while everyone is sleeping. They will run away and forget about him.
Anika was a bit hesitant but it’s part of the plan and she’s the one who made it.
“It’s time to tell Rahal to make their moves!” Marco added and started calling Rahal through their links.
Anika went back to their room. Arem and Karl followed her for backup.
But as Anika was about to enter their room, a sharp blade of the sword welcome her. Someone was behind her who sticks the blade on her neck.
“Who are you? Why you wanted to kill me?” It’s King’s Darius voice.
Anika’s eyes widened to know it was him. He pushed the blade hard on her skin and blood ran down her neck. She’s wounded. He is certainly going to kill her.
Arem walked back to tell Marco and Karl about the situation. Three of them went outside but they were also shocked to see Argus and his armies surrounding outside the inn.
“Fuck, they knew our plan! How? Who made a mistake?” The Alpha King became fierce.
“No time to know who is at fault! We need to save Anika and escape from here or else she can’t go on with the mission!” Karl told Marco.

“Tell me why or you will die!” King Darius asked her again.
Anika must think wise like a Luna Sangria. She’s the Alpha female of her packs and she can’t be seized easily. She took a deep breath and spoke.
“I do not belong here. I know this sounds weird but I came here with magic. I am from the present time! I wanted to kill you so that I can be free to continue my mission, my Lord. I used you to bring me here.” She told the king everything but he won’t believe it.
“You lied and betrayed me. I will kill you!” He was about to cut her throat when the clock struck at midnight.
Anika shifted into a white werewolf and hovered the king’s body. His sword swung from his hands.
Arem saw how Anika turned into a wolf. He saw her in his dream the night his wife disappeared.
“A monster? Ahhh!!!” He screamed.
Anika POV as Ariana
I could see how King Darius’ eyes widened in fear when I shifted into my werewolf form. I don’t know what just happened but I felt a sudden throb in my head and a dreadful pain throughout my body. But it doesn’t matter anymore. I growled and raise my white paws at him. I can see how frightened he was the moment he saw my true form but he still dared to raise his samurai and whirl it towards me. I leap higher and shove his face with my claws.
Drops of blood rained on the floor. He winces in pain.
“You’re a monster! I should have killed you myself!” He screamed at me and to my surprised, he shifted into his original form.
It’s no ordinary werewolf-like me but an evil lycans. I remembered when my adopted parents got killed by a humanoid wolf-like him. I still remember how they tore my parent’s flesh into pieces.
I gritted my teeth and prepare myself. This is not an ordinary fight but this is the fight to the death. For me to defeat him, I need Marcos’s help but what took them so long to come and assisted me.

Arem went back to Marco and Karl shivering. His body trembled like he saw a ghost and both of them ask him if Anika did the job. He can’t even speak. He’s tongue-tied like someone cut his tongue to communicate with them. He closed his eyes and tried to regain himself. He must help her or else he can’t get his wife’s back.
“I saw— It’s hard but I saw a wolf! ” he stuttered.
Karl rushed to him and asked him whom he saw? Marco quickly ran to the King’s room.
“I saw Anika, she turned into a wolf! What are you, people? Is my wife’s a monster too?” Arem shook Karl’s shoulders but he had no time for drama.
Anika needed their help or else she might die. He knew how dangerous the king is and he can kill her instantly. He’s a demon king.
“I’m not like them. Let’s go and help her. We can talk later but we had to stick with the plan!” Karl said and they both followed Marco but they stop when a bow of arrows sneaks inside the inn. Karl’s leg got shot and he can’t walk properly.
“Fuck! I guess, someone followed us!” Karl mumbled while wincing in pain.

King Theus POV
“My Lord, a report came and they heard that a young lady named Anika is looking for her parents in Salem! We also found out that Annie is her mother.” After I heard what my Beta reported to me, my heartfelt hope.
It’s time to look for my daughter and heir of my territory.
“Where can we find her?” I asked my Beta.
“In Valkyrie Kingdom, my Lord!” He said and I called everyone to prepare for a long trip.
It’s my time to find her. I miss my daughter so much. How can Annie keep her from me? It’s been almost eighteen years since she ran away when my wife found out about our relationship. It’s an accidental affair but I have the right to claim my daughter, she possesses the royal blood of a wolf.
We traveled for three days and two nights until we reach the Valkyrie Kingdom but it seems like it’s very quiet. I saw a fire inside the palace. I ordered my men to get inside and investigate.
My beta Damian set a signal to follow him. We do as he told. When we get inside the palace, everything looks messy like a war just took over the place.
“My Lord, I think something happened here! A war occurred just a minute ago.” He explained to me when we saw dead bodies on the floor.
I heard a commotion under the dungeon. Smoke came from there so I was the one who checks it. What if my daughter was inside, kept, and tortured?
