Luna was having her lunch together with Sally. They were both eating their favorite dishes at the canteen while having a good conversation.
“Hey, Luna. Tell me something about the man you are taking care of at the VIP ward” Sally asked her. She was interested in Maximus.
After seeing the man for the first time, Sally cannot forget his face the moment she left the VIP ward. She did not know anything about the man except his face. She also remembered his voice. It was deep and manly that made him attract her more.
“I cannot tell you about him. I told you before it is not allowed” Luna answered her.
“I am not asking for his name or contacts. Just tell me about his character or pet name if he has one”
Luna looked at her friend and thought that maybe Sally was interested in Maximus. She asked herself why Sally wanted to know about Maximus. Maybe it is because Maximus was too attractive.
“Okay, I will tell you about him just a little” Luna started to talk about Maximus.
“That man likes to piss anybody he wants. You will never win against him when you are both arguments. He likes to do what he wants. Sometimes he is innocent, but most of the time, he’s not. He is also good in business” Luna was making a face when she talked about Maximus because that was all her experiences whenever she was with Maximus.
Sally saw her reaction. Sally did not know what to feel. Somehow, she feels happy, at the same time, jealous while listening to her.
Luna has received a lot of gifts from Maximus lately, even though it is not a special day. Sometimes, she receives flowers, chocolates, or food for breakfast. Almost all the nurses and doctors from the hospital thought that Luna had a boyfriend who had a lot of money, a wealthy man.
“Oh, you two are really close to each other, huh?” Sally whispered and continued eating her food, but she also stopped when she felt like she needed to ask something about her friend.
“Hey, Luna. Tell me and be honest. Did you like that man?” She asked with curiosity.
Luna was shocked by her sudden question. Luna did not answer for a few seconds. Sally thought that maybe Luna liked the man, but Luna answered her when she almost confirmed the answer.
“I-I am n-not” Luna stuttered. The truth is, she does not know if she likes Maximus or not.
She was unsure.
Sally smiled and felt happy when Luna said that she does not like Maximus. She looked at Luna and thought that maybe if she can have another chance to see the man, she will immediately approach him.
While the two were eating, the head nurse called the attention of Luna. She was angry and her face showed that she was disappointed.
“Luna! Go to the office of Doctor Reyes” The head nurse looked at her with fierce eyes.
Luna and Sally stopped eating. They both stood up and looked at the head nurse. Luna had no idea what happened.
Did she do something? She was nervous because she does not have any idea about what was going on.
“Luna” Sally called with a worried tone.
“Stay here, I’ll be fine” Luna smiled at Sally. She doesn’t want her friend to get worried.
Luna walked out of the canteen and headed to Doctor Reyes’s office. Sally watched her back until she disappeared. Somehow, she already knew what happened. She was so worried about Luna.
If this is about the VIP ward, she really made something bad for the benefit of herself. She does not want to lose her job. So even if she does not want to do it, she has no choice. She must betray her only ally.
“I’m so sorry Luna”, she said while a drop of tears falls from her eyes.
She immediately calls the number of Liza. Liza answered the phone.
“Did you do something to Luna?” she asked but she did not show that she was worried because she was scared that Liza might have caught her.
“Why? Are you worried about her? Did you know anything about Luna?” Liza asked. Sally can feel the sinister vibe when Liza asks her.
“It’s not that I’m worried about her. Luna is my friend. I was just wondering, maybe because it has something to do with the VIP ward, that is why I called you” Sally explained.
Has she found out the truth yet? It can’t be. I am being careful. Sally thought, her hands were trembling in fear.
“How did you find out that it has something to do with Luna and the VIP ward? Did you… did you perhaps lie about the information you said last time?” Liza suddenly thought about Sally’s loyalty. Sally immediately called her because of what happened to her friend. Maybe Sally was hiding something from her.
Sally froze. She did a wrong move. She did not realize before asking that she lied to Liza about Luna. She did not tell that her friend, Luna, was the assigned doctor.
“It is just a hunch and in fact, you said last time that I should watch what you are going to show, that is why I am asking because what happened today is so unexpected This kind of event never happened before at the hospital.”
Sally tried her best to think about how to remove the rising suspicions of Liza about her before she suspects her more. Liza might fire her because she was hiding Luna.
Liza did not answer for a few seconds. She was thinking about what Sally said. Ever since the hospital was established, there is no report of a single nurse at Lucas Hospital that failed to do her job, but today is different. She will make sure that the Hospital made a mistake hiring Luna.
“Is that so? Okay, I believe in you. By the way, stay away from Luna starting today. You do not want yourself to put in trouble, right? One wrong move and you might really lose your job this time if you did not take my advice” Liza said with a warning sound before ending the call.
