After the call, Sally sighed. Lunch break was over. It is time for her to get back to work. She still has a lot of duties to do at the ward. She walked out of the Canteen when she bumped into somebody taller than her. She was about to fall on the floor, but a man suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her. She did not fall on the floor.
“T-thank you–” she did not finish her words when she saw the face of the man who saved her.
It is him. The handsome man at the VIP Ward. She thought. This is the second time she met the man. He is even more handsome and gorgeous in his office attire. He is really rich.
“Where is she?” The man asked her.
He let go of her hand immediately and fixed his suit. He looked at Sally and waited for an answer. He needs to see Luna because he is worried.
“Luna? She was called at the office of Doctor Reyes–” once again she did not get a chance to finish her words because the man left him.
It was Maximus Frost. One of the wealthiest men in the city. Everyone who sees him cannot help but admire his looks and get intimidated by his aura. He ignores things that he finds uninterested, like her.
Sally decided to follow Maximus to the office of Doctor Reyes. She wanted to look at him longer. She was also curious as to why he looked so worried for Luna. Luna was just his doctor and they are not even in a relationship.
At the office of Doctor Reyes, Luna was being scolded by the head nurse. There was news roaming around the hospital about a doctor flirting with her own patient. The worst part was someone had taken a photo of them outside the VIP ward.
“What is this Luna?!” The head nurse slammed the photos of her, and the back of the man shows that they were holding each other’s arms and laughing.
Luna slowly holds the photo and looks at it. You can only see the man’s back, but Luna knows who he is. It was Maximus. She suddenly felt nervous and scared. The photo was taken in secret. Somebody was trying to frame her.
“Ma’am, this is a misunderstanding. He is indeed my patient from the VIP ward, but we are not flirting” she tried to defend herself.
They look like lovers in the photo. Luckily, the man’s face cannot be seen in the photo. Luna does not want to drag Maximus.
“So how can you explain the photo?” Somebody suddenly interrupted them when the door opened, and a figure of a woman came in.
“Ms. Ferrer” Doctor Reyes called Liza when they saw her.
What is she doing here? Luna thought. She had an idea that Liza probably schemed her so she would lose her job. She already knew Liza. A sinister, evil woman. She once pushed her before at the stairway, just to steal Shawn.
“You did this, didn’t you?” Luna asked. Even if Liza defends herself, Luna already knew that she planned all of these.
“You do not have any proof Doctor Florence” Liza crossed her arms and smiled.
When she does a job, she always makes sure that it is flawless. If it fails, she will not suffer from the consequences. Somebody will replace her to deal with the problems she caused and let them suffer from the consequences. That is how Liza plays her card.
“Ms. Ferrer, I think this matter does not have anything to do with you” Doctor Reyes interrupted when Luna did not talk.
“Of course, it is, Doctor Reyes. Soon, I will be the wife of Mister Shawn Lucas in the future, the heir of Lucas Hospitals. If I did not involve myself and do something to solve this problem, I am not worthy to be called Mrs. Lucas, am I right?” Liza shows her best smile. She really wanted Luna to suffer by mentioning being the wife of Shawn.
Liza and Luna glared at each other. Their emotions can be seen in their faces. Luna, with whom she raised her left brow, smiled sarcastically to her. Liza’s words about Shawn marrying her does not affect her any longer.
Excuse me, you are still not her wife, Liza. Still, you have no right to interfere. We can handle this matter. You cannot even pass your board exam to be a licensed doctor let alone handling business,” Luna slapped Liza with her words. What Luna said was a fact and it really made Liza mad.
Luna really has the gut to treat me like trash. What a shameless woman. Liza thought.
“Well, I still have a right because I am one of the investors here. I am concerned about my investments. If you don’t know, there are lots of patients talking about not going to trust this hospital again because of the incident.” Liza turned to Doctor Reyes indicated that she failed to manage the hospital’s doctors. “Doctor, what Luna did is a disgrace in our hospital. Did you still want to keep her or both of you will lose your job? Choose.” Luna clenched her fist. She was putting the Head nurse and Doctor Reyes in a hard situation.
How dare she threaten them?
Doctor Reyes and the head nurse did not talk. What Liza said was right. The hospital had never experienced this kind of situation before, not until today. If the news keeps on spreading, it will damage the hospital’s reputation. They might all lose their job because the private information in the VIP wards got leaked.
But who is behind all of these?
“Doctor Reyes, you do not have to choose. I will file my resignation and take the blame” Luna said in a serious tone. Both Doctor Reyes and the head nurse were surprised because of Luna’s sudden decision.
This woman will never leave me alone unless I really disappear from this world. Luna thought as she glared at Liza.
“Are you sure about that? We can fix this matter without Liza’s decision” Doctor Reyes asked. The doctor was going to take the responsibility for Luna because she knew that this was all planned.
“Yes, I am going to resign” Luna answered clearly, then said deeply the word “resign” to Liza’s face.
Before she walked out of the office, someone came in.
