Break your heart

“Why doesn’t it sound like a compliment?”

“It was.”

“Really?”

“Why would you think otherwise?”

“Just a feeling, I guess.”

“Isn’t having a strong intuition a woman’s strong suit?”

“Are men not allowed to have it?”

“I did not say that.”

“Not in so many words.”

“Forget it, if you don’t believe it.” “Where are we going after this?”

“Let’s stay here for some time, go for a movie in the evening, and then go to a pub.”

“…”

“I googled what people do on a date.”

“Hahahahaha”

“It’s not funny.”

“I think it is.”

“How about you set the itinerary?”

“Wouldn’t want to waste the time you spent on google search.”

“You are still laughing at me.”

“I guess I just did not expect you to google it.”

“I have never been on a date before unless the time we spent together counts.”

“It does not.”

“Thought so.”

(Smiles)

“What was your last date like?”

“Why would you ask that?”

“Curiosity!”

“Really?”

“Fine! I just want to avoid the pitfalls.”

“Hahahaha”

“I never knew I was so funny.”

“You are not.”

“…”

“I’m just amused by your straightforwardness.”

“It’s troublesome to be long-winded. Lying is even worse, you have to remember what you lied about. I’ve got better things to keep in mind.”

“I agree. Though I’m quite natural in lying about my private matters.”

“So, not telling me about your last date then?”

“I can tell you all my dates end the same way.”

“Huh?”

“If I go somewhere I like i. e. amusement park or gaming or a movie I choose, then I have fun. But that’s more like having fun doing the things I like rather than with the company.
If not, I just make some excuse and run out.”

“…”

“Do you think I’m weird?”

“I think you have high standards.”

“You don’t have to be polite.”

“I was being honest. Besides, it seems like I’ve to work hard.”

“Excuse me.”

“Never mind, if you did not hear it.”

“You should not waste your time on me.”

“It’s up to me to decide if it’s a waste of my time.”

“A piece of advice on good faith.”

“Really?”

“Don’t get too attached to me. I’m afraid of heartbreaks, so I’m more likely to break your heart than wait for you to break mine.”

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.”

“Alright, my conscience is clear.”

“…”

“…”

“You are kidding, right?”

“Why would I be?”

“That’s cheating, you know.”

“Depends on how you choose to see it.”

“…” “You are hilarious.”

“…”

“Why did you choose interior design?”

“To be honest I kind of choose it on a whim. I always liked decorating and redecorating my room. I mean like moving furniture, rearranging the layout and all that.

I did that in all my rooms, be it at my parents’ house or at my brother’s house or hostel or my apartment. So, I just picked it up thinking it’d be easy and fun.”

“And why basic architecture. You got a post-grad at 20, it must have taken quite an effort even without a double degree.”

“Well. About that. Uhm”

“..??”

“Well I thought some people just build things the wrong way, so wanted to know basic architecture to be able to fix what’s fixable, which is not that much.”

“???”
