The bully reduced a little, all thanks to delvin and rita I couldn’t ask for more friends, I was grateful to have them in my life.
“Kelsi, will you accompany me to Collins party tonight?” Delvin asked while we were reading in the library.
The library has also became the safest place for me In school, anytime delvin is not with me I would run to the library and hide there till the break is over.
“Who’s Collins?” I turned to him, giving him my full attention.
“That fat boy in our class”, he dramatically describe him laughing.
I laughed. “Oh! Okay, but I don’t think I can”
“why? C’mon Kelsi, it is just a birthday party and he invited everyone in our class”.
“That’s more reason why I can’t go delvin, he invited everyone which means all our classmates and some of his friends from other departments will be there, No I can’t go there” I shook my head and turned away, avoiding his pleading gaze.
I noticed his face fell, he was silent.
I felt bad, he has been nice to me and I rejected his first request.
I sighed.
“Why not go with Rita, you think I don’t know you’ve been stealing glances at her whenever we are together”, I smirked raising an eyebrow looking at him.
“What? Me?” Delvin scoffed, faking a surprise yet blushing.
“Yes you, Mr silent crusher”, I laughed teasing him.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about kelsi’ he looked away avoiding my gaze this time around.
” Keep quiet, iam not dumb”, I pushed his shoulder slightly.
“You like her right…?” I playfully pushed him again while watching his reaction towards my question.
“Tell me, you can confess to me delvin, you like her right?”
“Yeah! Yes I like her” he finally admitted covering his face with the palm of his hands.
“But…. I can’t tell her now”
“Why? Go Talk to her”, I urge him.
“I will think about it “.
“So, will you still come with me or not?”
” Uhm…… Well if Rita will come, yes I will”
Delvin groaned, “okay fine!” Thanks anyway.
” I will make sure you’re safe, okay?”.
I nodded.
“Let’s go get something to eat”, he said closing the textbook book.
“Yeah, I’m hungry too and thirsty”.
We walked out of the library towards the eatry where we met some group of students gathering round a female student.
“What’s going on there?” I asked delvin when I couldn’t see who they were bullying.
“I don’t know let’s go and see”, he pulled my hands to walk faster.
We got there and saw it was Rita, Anita and her crew were bullying her. Her clothes were wet and she was crying.
“OMG Rita” I shouted surprised, running towards her.
“Why are you doing this….?” I turned angrily and ask Anita who stood there smiling devilishly.
” what has she done to you? Anger croased through my vein, the urge to beat her to a pulp was very intense.
“Look at who is talking A lowly maid and a liar….”.
“…. who actually gave you the right to talk to me in public?” Anita fired back at me with disgust.
“Anita! Is your nusiance in this school not enough? Why did you do this to her? Why do you derive joy in bullying people?” Delvin angry voice came out, as his hand curled round Rita’s shoulder.
“Did she offend you?
And if she does why don’t you call her and talk to her, and stop acting childish like your boyfriend”.
I cringed at the word ‘boyfriend’.
