I asked expectantly, “What’s the matter? Say it quickly.”
“She said that she was afraid of causing me problems. It’s okay, I said afterwards. Aside from my dad, I have you on my side. I told her you hate the Brennan family, and she agreed to work with me to deal with Luke.” Echo said, taking a USB flash drive from her bag. “Here is the proof that Luke has done horrible things to protect Jessica throughout the years.”
I took the USB flash drive from the shelf. “Have you seen it?”
“Yes, I also made a copy, just in case. I tell you, the content here is wonderful. Luke drugged the bosses in wine, then threw the ladies into their beds, and took some indecent videos to threaten and get a lot of projects. I think it’s worth having such a good best friend in my life.

I took a look at the USB flash drive in the car after sending Echo away.
I silently evoked my lips after seeing the video inside. Brent, Luke, you wait for me.
I went to the Plum Court in the evening after dinner at home to play chess with my grandfather.
Grandma was chatting with Cheney when she came out.
Grandma said, “Afra’s school does not have daily performances. I’m having a physical examination with your granddad. It would be wonderful to have a better day.”
“What’s better than seeing a group of children dance? Even if you and my grandfather go, Afra will be on stage, and it will be impossible to see you from the crowd. A physical examination is still necessary, and the time for the physical examination cannot be changed.”
“That’s unusual. At the very least, Afra knows that after we leave, she will be more serious about her performance.”
“Grandma, is there a performance at Afra’s school tomorrow?” I asked as I walked over.

I walked over and sat down beside Cheney. “Grandma, you can rest assured to go to the physical examination with Grandpa. I’m going to Afra’s school to see her perform. Aunt is a mother as well. There’s no reason why I shouldn’t go.”
Grandma burst out laughing. “Sure, yes, for Afra, you and Cheney are no different from their parents.”
“You may rest assured, Grandma, that I’ll be at Afra’s performance.”
“Yes, and please give it to Afra tomorrow.”
Back at the Jade Court, I came out from the shower and said to Cheney, who was going to take a shower, “Cheney, if you have time tomorrow, let’s go together. A child as big as Afra needs care most. If both elders can attend, she will feel more proud.”
He hooked his lips and said, “You said it as if you had more experience.”
“Of course, at school, I used to choreograph dances. Even if my father was really busy, he would always bring my mother to see me perform, and he would always sit in the front row and offer me the most positive reaction and support. Every time I see my father, I get a boost of confidence. I’ve done this before, so I’m confident Afra will be happy if you go tomorrow. Attending a performance will not take up much of your time, but it will be a really enjoyable experience for Afra. After all, Afra will only grow up once, so take use of the moment.”
He shook his head and raised his brows. “As a second uncle, you’re more active than I am.”
“Nothing is more important than a child’s development.”
I left the construction site at noon the next day, after having lunch there.
I changed my clothes and put light makeup on in the car before picking Cheney up from his company and drove over to Afra’s school.
The play had just begun when we arrived at the school auditorium.
The third stage of Afra’s program has begun.
I shook my hand on the stage as I saw Afra come out.
Afra can see us at a glance because we are in the front row, which is quite visible.
Her serious little face was covered with a smile.
I took out my phone and started filming her at the start of the dance. I didn’t forget to turn the camera sideways and capture Cheney around halfway through the video.
Afra came to us wearing a tiny dance skirt and a kitten around her waist after her dance. “Uncle and aunt, I thought you wouldn’t come.” She said happily.
I gave her a little pinch on the cheek. “How can it be? If we promise we’ll do something, we’ll absolutely do it.”
“Why don’t you change your clothes first?” Cheney said seriously.
“You have never participated in children’s activities at first sight.” I said proudly, “So you don’t know that the children will take the stage for a curtain call afterwards.”
“Have you been there?”
“Of course, I told you that last night, didn’t I? I used to be a lead dancer when I was child.”
“You are so proud.” He said with a laugh.
I gave him a kind smile and continue watching the show.
The report presentation ended at 3:30 p. m.
We went to Afra’s yard after sending her back to her old house.
I received a notice at the construction site the next morning to go to the company for a meeting.
Quincy has not participated in the project these days, and since he is heading back, he wants to know how the building site is making progress through meetings.
I planned to go back to the construction site right after the meeting. I got a call from Cheney asking me to come upstairs and have lunch with him before entering into the elevator.
