Delia’s POV
Zaniyah came home after dinner and smashed two vases in the living room.
“Zaniyah, what are you doing?” Brent said angrily.
With a full expression of anger, Zaniyah stretched out and pointed at me. “This is all because of you, It’s all your fault.”
Why did you marry my father in the first place? Simply because you brought the Brennan family a cheap drag bottle. She has not only taken everything from me now, but she also humiliated me in front of everyone. Damn it, damn it!”
I’m a little upset right now. “Zaniyah.”
“Why should you call me that if you don’t call me by my name? Without my father, you would be a bitch abandoned by sinful engineers. Have I ever told you to talk to your cheap daughter, who isn’t sure if she’s living or dead, and to roll as far away from my position as possible? But how long has it been? Let me know what you did.”
I’m in a bit of pain. Looking at Brent.
“Zaniyah, don’t be so rude to your aunt.” Brent, who was standing off to the side, said something lightly.
Zaniyah screamed, “That’s enough! I’d have worse words if it weren’t for your sake dad, so stop defending this woman in my face. You should hurt me to favor her since she’s such a thing.”
“I didn’t take sides in any of the arguments. Your aunt didn’t do as well as she might have. Krista shouldn’t be doing this, but things have happened. What good will it do you to lose your temper now?”
“So, are you expecting me to swallow my humiliation? I can’t do it, I can’t do it, I’ll never let Krista go, you’ll have to wait and see.” Zaniyah stomped her foot, turned around, and ran upstairs.
Only two individuals remain in the living room, Brent is looking at me with anger in his eyes.
I just gave him one look and quickly shifted my eyes. “Krista is there, and I did my best.”
“You’ve got a lovely daughter.”
He walked back to his room, snorting coldly.
I felt ashamed, so I eventually followed up saying, “Brent…”
“Come on, I’m not looking forward to seeing you. You’d be better off sleeping in the guest room.”
“Are you also blaming me? You know, I gave it my all. Krista is no longer interested in me. What options do I have?”
“She is your daughter. Don’t you have a lot of options if you want to get her back? Who believed you when you said you couldn’t do it?”
I smirked. “Do you have any idea why Krista is the way she is?”
“What do I know?” Brent yelled, his eyes threatening.
“You…” I said, gritting my teeth.
Brent is adamant. “Say it, I know nothing.”
“Krista is not happy in this family.”
“Who is happy? Am I happy? Don’t forget, this is the Brennan family. She is a stepdaughter. Does the stepdaughter feel that she doesn’t have it?”
“Are you blaming me?” I frowned and looked at him. “Brent, are you blaming me for marrying you and for bringing Krista into the Brennan family?”
“I’m not saying. You’re the one who’s wrong, and you’re blaming others.”
“You…” I made a fist. “We wouldn’t be cornered if it weren’t for you. You treated me like this after I did so much for you?”
He gave me a cold face and said, “Didn’t you do this voluntarily?”
“It’s all my fault, of course. I’ll just go since this family can no longer accommodate me. I’ll keep you two, father and daughter, clean. It’s all right.”
After that, I turned around and was on my way out. From behind me, I heard Brent’s voice. “If you dare to leave this house, you will ruin my good reputation. Then we’ll be enemies. Did you really think that you want to go?”
I came to an end, turned around, and looked at him.
Brent raised his eyebrows and his voice softened a little. “I’m tired. I need to get some rest. Go back to your room.”
I sighed, lowered my eyes, opened the door, and went to the room.
My heart felt a bit dull when I walked to the windowsill. Samuel never blushed with me. Is it possible that I did something wrong? But I’m out of options at this point.
Krista’s pov
Echo is deserving of the title of social master. Fay and she spoke about sister Daomei in fewer than 10 days.
When she came to the construction site to find me on Thursday afternoon, she informed me about it, and I was shocked.
I poured her a cup of warm water as soon as I came into the RV.
She took two mouthfuls of water, set the cup down, and gave me a serious look. “I just found out that Fay, that woman, is indeed poor and bold when she meets new people, do you know how she got into this business?”
“Was a man cheated?” I asked.
“Yes, it’s a good guess, and you’re still familiar with this man.”
Is there someone Fay and I know? Is there anyone like that?
After thinking about it carefully, I really came up with a person in my mind. “It can’t be Brent.”
“It’s him. Fay was left by Luke. Brent said he would do justice for her. After tricking her into bed, he gave her a little money and turned against her. She can’t help being a weak woman, so she has to take money and leave. Originally, she ran a serious clubhouse, and the girls who came to work in the clubhouse were all poor people. She can’t stop this kind of thing from happening. In her clubhouse, those who don’t want to sleep with them will not be forced, and girls who want to sleep for nothing. It’s not easy for her either. ”
My face was calm. “He is an animal.”
“Let’s not talk about the old beast. I talked with Fay several times on the side and mentioned Brent. Fay’s hatred for him is obviously not as big as that for Luke. She said that after the clubhouse opened, Luke lied to her that he would divorce and remarry her. She believed it. As a result, Luke just used her to get close to the bosses who entered the clubhouse. She helped Luke do a lot of wicked things, but Luke finally turned against others. I heard Fay’s tone, and I really hated this man.”
I nodded. “Did Fay say that she did anything wicked for Luke?”
“I didn’t have it in the first few days, and I didn’t dare to ask too deeply. In the next few days, when we got to know each other, I asked her, don’t you want to get back at Luke? She said yes, but Luke has Brent as a backer. She can’t fight Brent. Although she knows it is cowardly, she has to suffer. Then, I took advantage of the loophole, saying that I hate women being bullied most, and I want to avenge her. Guess what?”
