Chapter 1198 The Selfish Opportunist

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

As Philip Nash declared his profession, he indulgently ogled the first-class stewardess’s legs wrapped in black stockings.
“Alright, please follow me,” she said urgently.
“Miss, don’t listen to him! He isn’t a real doctor!” shouted a woman whose head had just been bandaged by Leo.
“Right, he’s a phony!” added a middle-aged man, noticing Philip’s lecherous gaze, clearly trying to exploit the situation to impress the stewardess.
The first-class stewardess looked skeptically at Philip, “Sir, are you really a doctor? Lives are not to be trifled with.”
“I am! Here’s my ID!” Philip frantically pulled out his credentials, displaying them to everyone.
“Then why didn’t you help earlier?” the woman who initially doubted him questioned angrily.
“Exactly! Why didn’t you step up to help?”
“When the attendant called for help, you ignored it!”
“You’re a lame excuse for a doctor!”
Others joined in, lambasting Philip.
They weren’t trying to force morals, but under such circumstances, anyone with a shred of decency would offer help.
Philip’s selfish neglect seemed unworthy of his title.
Flushed with embarrassment, Philip stammered, “I… I felt dizzy…”
“Miss, forget him. Let the young doctor help,” the woman gestured at Leo, praising, “His skills are impressive.”
“Indeed, this young doctor is excellent!”
“And he’s ethical!”
“Much better than some heartless individuals!”
Everyone echoed, showering Leo with admiration.
“You flatter me. It’s just basic knowledge,” Leo said humbly.
“Sir, your name, please?” the first-class stewardess smiled at Leo.
“My name is Bloomer,” Leo responded.
“Sir, and you?” She turned to Philip.
“Philip Nash, here’s my card,” Philip quickly handed her his card, which she accepted courteously.
“May both of you follow me?” requested the stewardess.
Leo whispered softly to Sophia before following.
Philip trailed behind, eyes fixated on the stewardess, drawing Leo’s disdain.
Compared to the economy class, the first-class stateroom cabin is much more luxurious, and passengers have significantly more personal space. Each seat in the first-class cabin can fully recline.
Leo and Sophia originally intended to book a first-class stateroom cabin, but since it was fully booked, they had to settle for the economy class.
“Ma’am, please hold on, we’ll get a doctor right away.” A man in a pilot’s uniform was leaning over, comforting an elderly woman sitting in the front row seat.
The man was the captain of the flight. Once the plane was flying steadily, he handed over control to the co-pilot and came to comfort the elderly woman personally.
The elderly woman had grayish hair, appearing to be over sixty years old. From her attire, it was clear that she was quite wealthy.
At this moment, her face and lips were pale, her brows tightly furrowed, and she was clutching her chest, breathing heavily and looking very distressed.
Leo glanced over and diagnosed her with acute myocardial ischemia. He said, “This elderly lady seems to have…”
“It’s acute myocardial ischemia!” Before Leo could finish speaking, Philip rushed over to the elderly woman. “Ma’am, do you feel chest tightness and pain, and difficulty breathing?”
The elderly woman, unable to speak much, hurriedly nodded.
“Great, I’m an expert in this field!” Philip said excitedly, taking out a box of medicine from his pocket. “Luckily, I always carry Di’ao Xin Xue Kang tablets with me. Taking this will see results quickly.”
Upon seeing this, Leo’s expression changed, and he quickly stopped him: “No, from this lady’s complexion, I suspect she has bradycardia. Giving her Di’ao Xin Xue Kang tablets might not only be ineffective but could worsen her condition.”
“Suspect? Don’t make me laugh. Can you tell if she has bradycardia with just one look? Are you a god?” Philip sneered at Leo.
He had been displeased with Leo since the economy class passengers praised him. Now, in front of the beautiful flight attendant of the first-class stateroom cabin, this guy wanted to steal the show. No way!
“Gentlemen, who exactly is the doctor here?” The captain asked, puzzled, “Do you have any credentials?”
“Yeah, kid, you say you’re a doctor, do you have any credentials?” Philip stood up angrily, glaring at Leo while handing his credentials to the captain.
The captain’s face lit up after seeing Philip’s credentials.
Philip’s credentials were from the capital’s Eastmere Hospital.
Everyone knew that Eastmere Hospital was one of the top three hospitals in the capital.
The captain then turned to Leo and asked, “Sir, which hospital do you work for?”
“I am not affiliated with any hospital. I own a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic,” Leo replied honestly.
“Then please excuse us. With Dr. Durham here, we don’t need your help,” the captain said with a slight smile, signaling that Leo was no longer needed.
“Captain, this gentleman helped many people in the economy class earlier, and everyone praised his medical skills. I think we should let him take a look,” the first-class stateroom cabin flight attendant quickly recommended Leo, as she disliked Philip’s self-centered attitude.
“No need. Dr. Durham is sufficient,” the captain waved his hand, ignoring Leo.
Leo smiled wryly but said nothing more and returned to the economy class.
The first-class stateroom cabin flight attendant looked at Leo’s retreating figure, opened her mouth, but in the end, said nothing.
Seeing Leo return so quickly, Sophia couldn’t help but ask, “How did it go? Is everything okay?”
“The captain didn’t let me treat her,” Leo said with a wry smile.
Sophia knew the captain must have chosen the suited man with credentials and comforted Leo: “If they don’t let a kind person like you help, that’s their loss.”
