As Leo and Sophia chatted, the first-class stateroom cabin flight attendant suddenly came running over anxiously.
When she reached Leo, she said urgently, “Mr. Bloomer, the elderly lady in the first-class stateroom cabin is in a critical condition, please come and take a look.”
Leo glanced at Sophia.
“Go quickly, saving someone is more important,” Sophia urged.
Leo followed the flight attendant back to the first-class stateroom cabin.
The elderly woman’s face had turned slightly purple, her body stiff, and she was barely breathing.
The captain and Philip looked pale and scared.
Passengers in the first-class stateroom cabin are usually wealthy, especially on a flight to Riceland.
If anything happened to the elderly woman, and her family held them accountable, they would be in serious trouble.
“Get me a blanket!” Leo urgently instructed the flight attendant, then quickly approached the elderly woman.
He took out the Golden Dragon Silver Needle he always carried with him and deftly applied acupuncture to the Renzhong point below the woman’s collarbone, the Shaochong point on her little finger, and the Jiquan point under her left armpit.
He then grabbed the blanket from the flight attendant, covered the elderly woman’s chest with it, and said urgently, “I’m sorry, ma’am!”
He pressed his left hand against her chest, and with his right hand, he made a fist and struck his left hand a few times.
The elderly woman took a deep breath and began to breathe more smoothly. The purplish color on her face gradually faded, replaced by a more healthy hue.
In treating symptoms like acute coronary heart disease, timely intervention is crucial.
Fortunately, the flight attendant called for help promptly; a few seconds’ delay could have been fatal.
As the elderly woman’s condition stabilized, both the captain and Philip heaved a sigh of relief, still shaken.
“I-I’m feeling unwell, I’ll go back to my seat,” Philip quickly grabbed his bag and left the first-class stateroom cabin in a hurry.
He had intended to impress and perhaps get the first-class stateroom cabin flight attendant’s contact, but after failing to treat the patient, he no longer had the face for it.
The flight attendant cast a disdainful glance at Philip, knowing he wanted to avoid responsibility; now that the elderly woman’s condition was stable, any further issues would not be his problem.
“The elderly lady will recover soon. I’ll head back now,” Leo said, removing the silver needles and nodding to the captain and the flight attendant before turning to leave.
“Mr. Bloomer,” the flight attendant suddenly called out, grabbing his hand.
Leo felt a cool, soft touch on his hand, paused, and looked back to see the flight attendant’s fair fingers holding his hand.
The flight attendant blushed slightly, quickly let go, and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Bloomer, could you please wait here a little while longer, until we’re sure the elderly lady is okay?”
“Mr. Bloomer, please don’t leave. We’ll upgrade your seat for free,” the captain quickly offered.
“No need. I’ll wait for a bit,” Leo agreed.
After several minutes, the elderly lady completely recovered, her breathing becoming regular.
She knew that Leo had saved her and gratefully said, “Young man, thank you so much. If it weren’t for you, I might have lost my life on this plane.”
“Don’t mention it, ma’am. It’s my duty as a doctor,” Leo replied with a calm smile.
After some small talk, Leo advised her to maintain a light diet and balanced nutrition. He suggested drinking ginseng porridge at dinner, to strengthen her heart.
Politely declining her invitation for a meal after the flight, Leo returned to his seat in the economy class.
Sophia asked, “How’s the situation?”
Leo replied, “Thanks to my treatment, Mrs. Henley is fine now.”
“That’s good,” Sophia sighed in relief.
At 10 PM, they arrived at Tacoma International Airport in Seattlemere, Riceland.
After getting off the plane, Leo and Sophia walked out of the airport, taking in the foreign atmosphere.
Different skin colors, different languages, different buildings.
“Leo, where are we heading?” Sophia asked as they drove from the airport into the city.
Leo thought for a moment and said, “It’s late now, let’s find a hotel in Jade Quarter.”
Sophia nodded, trusting him with their accommodations.
Leo spoke to the driver in English, “Please take us to Jade Quarter.”
“Sure,” the driver responded.
After arriving at Jade Quarter, they found a hotel and checked in.
That night, as a couple, they shared some intimate moments.
The next morning, they explored Jade Quarter together.
Not long into their walk, the Antiquities Bazaar caught Leo’s eye.
Unexpectedly, there was a market specializing in antiques even in a foreign country.
“Sophia, want to explore the Antiquities Bazaar?” Leo suggested.
“Whatever you like,” Sophia replied.
Leo then led Sophia into the Antiquities Bazaar.
Leo wanted to find some items to improve the geomancy of the Henley’s Corp, considering Sophia was now the company’s chairperson.
As they strolled and browsed, Leo also used his sense to probe around.
Walking to the end of the market, Leo had yet to find anything he desired.
Though labeled as an “Antiquities Bazaar,” most items were replicas or counterfeit antiquities.
At the end, there weren’t any vendors, only a few scattered stalls.
A small-framed vendor near the corner, seemingly without business for days, perked up as Leo and Sophia approached. Putting on a mysterious expression, he said, “I just got some interesting new items. Would you be interested in taking a look?”
Leo casually glanced at the items on the ground, mostly fakes, and without much hope, asked, “What new items, from grave robbery?”
The vendor pretended to be cautious, looking around before coughing and taking out a burlap-wrapped object from his coat.
The antique market is notoriously complex. Despite the vendor’s cautious demeanor, it could well be an act.
Grave robbery has become increasingly rare, and items from such sources are typically quickly dealt with. Finding genuine items in small stalls abroad is unlikely.
Most such vendors possess some knowledge of antique appraisal and wouldn’t openly display genuine treasures.
The item the vendor produced was either a genuine artifact he was eager to sell for a good price or a deliberately aged replica intended to deceive.
The so-called “newbie trap” involves presenting artificially aged items to swindle novice collectors.
