“Alright, Abel, isn’t that sincere enough?” Leo smiled as he saw Abel pondering.
“No, three fruits are a bit too few. Make it five!” Abel bargained.
Although he was already reluctantly satisfied with three fruits, who would complain about getting a little more?
“Fine, let’s make it five fruits then.” Leo thought for a moment and nodded.
“You agreed so readily?” Abel’s face flickered with doubt when he saw Leo’s quick acceptance.
“Leo, as far as I know, cultivating Spirit Medicines is extremely difficult. Even top sects find it challenging,” Abel said.
“While the environment at the Spirit Crocodile Cliff is good, it’s hard to predict how many fruits the cultivated Spirit Medicines will bear. What if it’s not enough for five fruits?”
“Abel, I promise you that if it’s not enough, I’ll find a way to make up for it. Isn’t that good enough?” Leo assured him.
“Alright… Oh, one more thing.” Abel’s eyes gleamed as he suddenly remembered something. “Will your cultivation period be too long? If you make me wait for a dozen or even dozens of years, I’ll be long gone by then. Forget about five fruits, I won’t even get to see the one you provide.”
“Don’t worry about that. I guarantee you’ll see the harvest of the Spirit Fruits within a year! That’s a 500% return on investment, Abel. You’re making a big profit.” Leo said with a smiling face.
“Okay, let’s set a one-year deadline. Both Master Jennifer and Fire Rose will act as witnesses,” Abel finalized the decision.
“Just having them as witnesses is not enough. We need a written agreement to give it more legal weight,” Leo thought for a moment and suggested.
Leo understood Abel well. If there were more fruits than expected, Abel might refuse to acknowledge the agreement or demand a larger share.
Abel was speechless. This guy usually acted without scruples, but when did he start caring about legal matters?
“Alright, let’s sign the agreement then.” Abel nodded. A five-fold return within a year was quite good for him.
However, Abel had a lingering doubt. Could Leo really cultivate a significant number of Spirit Fruits?
Despite his suspicions, Abel couldn’t go back on his word, and he didn’t believe that one fruit tree could produce many fruits.
Under the notarization of Jennifer and Fire Rose, the two parties signed the agreement and recorded a video of the signing.
“Alright, Abel, it’s settled. Once you deliver the Spirit Medicine Spirit Fruits, I’ll start planting as soon as I clean up the werewolves.” Leo held the agreement and smiled.
After finalizing the collaboration, the group had lunch at the Seven Stars Sword Sect and then Leo and Abel left together.
After parting ways with Abel and the others in the city, Leo drove his car back to the clinic.
Not long after Leo entered the clinic, a black Mercedes sedan stopped by the roadside outside.
The car door opened, and a middle-aged man stepped out.
The middle-aged man was none other than Brice, who had lost a horse race to Leo at the club that day and hurriedly left after receiving a phone call.
Brice looked up at the clinic signboard, confirming that he hadn’t come to the wrong place, and then walked into the clinic.
“Excuse me, is Dr. Bloomer here?” Brice asked Chasel.
Chasel glanced at Brice up and down and replied, “Yes, he is. Do you have an appointment?”
“I’m not here for treatment. I’m looking for Dr. Bloomer. It’s a personal matter. Can you please ask Dr. Bloomer for me?” Brice’s attitude was polite.
“Just wait here. I’ll go and get Dr. Bloomer from his office.”
“Thank you.”
After waiting for five or six minutes in the lobby, Brice saw a young man coming out of the consultation room.
When Brice saw the young man’s face clearly, he couldn’t help but be stunned-it was Coral’s assistant, Leo!
Leo followed Chasel’s direction and glanced over. When he saw Brice clearly, he couldn’t help but be slightly stunned.
“Mr. Hampton, why did you come to my clinic?” Leo walked up to Brice with a smile.
“Your clinic…?” Brice was taken aback again, then quickly reacted, “You’re Dr. Bloomer?”
“That’s me. What can I do for you, Mr. Hampton?” Leo nodded and led Brice into the meeting room.
“Dr. Bloomer, do you understand geomancy?” Brice asked straightforwardly as they entered the room.
“I have some knowledge in that area. Mr. Hampton, how did you find your way here?” Leo curiously asked.
Brice replied, “I was recommended to come to you by the Montoya family in Horora .”
Then, Brice explained the reason for his visit to Leo.
Brice’s father is already eighty years old this year and was a high-ranking official in the government before retiring.
Three years ago, Brice’s mother passed away, and he wanted to bring his father to live with him, but the old man refused.
Helpless, Brice had to hire a nanny to take care of his father’s daily life.
The nanny, Olivia, came from the countryside and was very down-to-earth. She took good care of Brice’s father to the point where he saw her as a granddaughter.
After the horse race that day, Olivia suddenly called Brice and, in an almost teary tone, told him something that left him bewildered.
Olivia had been living in Brice’s father’s house, and around midnight, while she was sound asleep, she was awakened by strange noises coming from the living room.
Could there be a burglar in the house?
That’s what Olivia thought.
Worried about Mr. Hampton’s safety, Olivia quickly got dressed and quietly left the bed, slightly opening the bedroom door.
Olivia held her phone in her hand and thought that if there really was a burglar, she would immediately activate the alarm system in the bedroom and call the police.
Although the living room was not lit, the curtains were not fully closed, allowing some light from outside to filter in. Olivia could still vaguely see the person in the living room.
Upon seeing it, Olivia nervously covered her mouth in astonishment.
The scene before her was too bizarre.
The formerly hunched and elderly Mr. Hampton stood upright, holding a gleaming kitchen knife, swinging and chopping with relentless energy. It was as if he had an endless source of strength.
Not only that, but Mr. Hampton was muttering incomprehensible words, speaking rapidly in a language Olivia couldn’t understand.
Olivia quickly found a rational explanation for this-Mr. Hampton was sleepwalking!
So she opened the door, turned on the living room light, and called out, “Mr. Hampton!”
Suddenly, Mr. Hampton’s movements came to a halt. He turned his head abruptly, staring at Olivia with intense eyes.
Seeing his terrifying and bloodshot gaze, Olivia was frightened and quickly retreated.
She had a feeling that it wasn’t Mr. Hampton looking at her, but rather a demon fixated on her. It was a sensation that sent shivers down her spine.
