“You’re nothing, disappear!”
A purple light flashed and Phoul King’s chest was pierced, his heart shattered.
After Leo retrieved the Nine Abyss Suppresses Evil Peak and the purple light dissipated, Phoul King’s massive body fell to the ground with a thunderous crash, dead beyond death.
With Phoul King taken care of, Leo clapped his hands and turned around only to be startled.
At the entrance of the hall, a group of ghosts with pale faces and varying ages had gathered. They floated in mid-air, creating an eerie ghostly wind that made one’s scalp tingle.
“What do you want from me?” Leo glared at them coldly with killing intent like lightning bolts.
Leo, who had just defeated Phoul King, became furious, causing the resentful ghosts to step back in fear, trembling.
“Master, please calm down. We mean no harm,” the ghost Skye came forward.
“What do they want?” Leo asked.
Skye cautiously replied, “We only want to thank you for removing Phoul King and freeing us from our torment. Apart from that, we dare not offend you in the slightest.”
Hearing this, Leo’s face relaxed. “There is a clear distinction between yin and yang, and it is not appropriate for you to cling to the mortal realm. How about I guide you through the process of transcendence? What do you think?”
Upon hearing this, the resentful ghosts had mixed reactions, some joyful and some sorrowful, creating a chaotic and eerie atmosphere.
“What’s wrong? Is there someone who disagrees?” Leo frowned.
One resentful ghost sighed, “We are grateful for your benevolence. We have already taken our ashes from the Ghost Tower and should not hesitate. But there are always some lingering attachments in the end.”
Leo became a little displeased and reprimanded, “The past is the past, why do you cling to it and harm yourself and others?”
Finally, the hesitant resentful ghosts came to their senses. “Master, you are right. We are willing to let go.”
“Very well, release your resentments and let me guide you,” Leo said.
At that moment, Skye stammered, “M-Master…”
Leo knew what she wanted to say and nodded, assuring her, “Don’t worry, I will fulfill my promise to you.”
“Thank you, Master.” Skye felt relieved and grateful.
Immediately, Leo formed hand seals, chanting the mantra for transmigration.
Faintly, the hall seemed to resonate with peaceful and solemn chanting, as if guiding the resentful ghosts to let go of their worldly attachments and proceed to the gate of rebirth.
Suddenly, a faint golden gate appeared in the void. The resentful ghosts rejoiced and turned into streams of white light, drifting into the gate.
“Thank you, Master…” In mid-air, there was a sudden thunderous roar, and everything disappeared, leaving only the distant sound of gratefulness from the resentful ghosts.
Having completed all of this, Leo left the ancient tomb. He had no interest in the things inside.
The next morning, Leo woke up on time, finished his morning routine, and had breakfast. Shiloh also arrived.
Leo arranged for Shiloh to change into his clothes and take over the clinic.
After observing her for the past two days, Leo discovered that the young girl was truly intelligent. She analyzed many pathologies with great proficiency, and with proper nurturing, she would surely become extraordinary in the future.
Around five in the afternoon, Leo let Shiloh leave early.
Being in a relationship, she naturally needed time for dating.
“Mr. Bloomer, what would you like to eat tonight?” Chasel had already taken out rice and started washing it in the pot. “Not to brag, but my cooking skills are improving day by day.”
Sarah had taken leave to visit her hometown, and Sakura couldn’t cook, so Chasel, who had developed an interest in cooking, took it upon himself.
“Anything is fine. I don’t have high culinary standards, as long as it’s not poisonous,” Leo joked.
“Just you wait and see!” Chasel confidently replied.
When it was time for dinner, the backyard kitchen filled with enticing aromas.
Leo took a deep sniff and, surprisingly, Chasel’s cooking skills were indeed quite good.
The dishes were served, and Chasel proudly said, “Spicy Stir-Fried Eggplant, Stir-Fried Pork with Bamboo Shoots, Five-Spice Peanuts. How do they taste?”
Leo tasted each dish and nodded with a smile, “The flavors are good.”
“Sir, spare me some food.” Suddenly, a voice came from outside the clinic’s hall.
Leo turned his head and saw a ragged beggar.
The beggar was filthy, with long, matted hair sticking together like a chicken coop. His face was so dirty that his true appearance couldn’t be seen, only his eyes moved occasionally.
Possibly due to extreme hunger, the beggar leaned against the clinic’s doorpost, his eyes fixed on the food on the table, his saliva constantly drooling.
“It’s you again. Come here, I’ll give you some rice.” Chasel seemed to know the beggar. He got up, took the beggar’s broken bowl, scooped some rice into it, and added some vegetables.
“Thank you, sir! Thank you, sir!” The beggar’s face brightened, and he eagerly took the food.
With the bowl in one hand and the food in the other, he ate hungrily, showing signs of severe hunger.
As the beggar ate and walked, he quickly left the Nameless Clinic.
“Do you know that beggar?” Leo asked Chasel.
“Yes, he’s been hanging around here these past few days, coming by every now and then to beg for food. I feel sorry for him, so I always give him some food.” Chasel, having experienced difficult times himself, felt compassion for the beggar.
Leo furrowed his brow, thinking for a moment. Then his expression changed slightly, and a cold smile appeared on his face as he said to Chasel, “Chasel, go ahead and eat. I’ll go out for a bit and be right back.”
With those words, Leo left the clinic and quickly followed the direction in which the beggar had disappeared.
After leaving the Nameless Clinic, the beggar slipped into a nearby alley. Seeing that there was no one around, he stopped and spat out the food from his mouth onto the ground. Then, he staggered to the back alley of the Nameless Clinic.
Arriving at the small gate behind the clinic, he picked up the incense burner from the base of the wall. He poured the ashes and dried rice from the incense burner onto the ground, then turned his broken bowl upside down and placed the remaining rice inside. From his pocket, he took out an incense stick and firmly stuck it into the bowl, lighting it.
“Bro, you’ve got some skills.” A voice suddenly sounded, startling the beggar. He looked up and saw Leo, his face showing surprise, but quickly regaining his composure.
Being caught by Leo, he didn’t feel like pretending anymore and sneered, “Do you know what I’m doing?”
He didn’t even consider Leo, an ordinary person, a threat. If he wanted to take Leo’s life, it would be as easy as lifting a finger. It would just be a bit troublesome to deal with the aftermath.
“Of course.” Leo smiled faintly. “You’re gathering malevolent energy to harm people.”
“Not bad, kid. Do you understand geomancy and metaphysics?” the beggar asked.
“A little.” Leo replied.
“Kid, since you understand geomancy and metaphysics, I’ll give you a chance to live. As long as you close the clinic, leave Langstel, and disappear without a trace, I’ll spare your life,” the beggar said.
