The cab arrive the given location. I looked at the familiar surrounding as the memories came back in my head. Most of the memories were pleasant except for that night which kept me stay away from here. I keep staring at the building when a voice startled me “Mam, we are here” the driver notified me since I was lost in my own thoughts.
I looked at him and tried to smile but my lips felt it hard to form a curve. I opened my purse and handed him his payment. I opened the cab”s door and climbed down off the cab. Few seconds later the cab drove off in distance and I was left there alone with my thoughts. I stepped closer to the building and each step took felt more heavier than the previous one.
When I reached to the gate, the guard there was having food sitting on a chair. He put his down and fix his glasses before looking at me.
He have to stare at me for a while before he finally recognize me “riley? What are you doing here? I thought you left this place for good” he bombered me with question after that even though we never had a proper chat when I lived in the building.”After that night, you were completely vanished from here, where have you been all these days?” he sounded soft as if he was talking to his own child.
“I was staying in my friends home for a while now” I said but I was curious to know what was going on here or what did they know about that nights or those blood sucking monsters. So I decided to talk to the guard “Uncle, may I ask something”
“Sure Riley, ask anything and I”ll try to answer you as long as I can” the old guard assured me.
I stopped me for a while and after a brief moment I spoke to him “What happened at that night?” I asked him.
His face changed suddenly and he looked at me as if he was confused “What do you mean by what happened at that night? Shouldn”t you be the one to know about it?” he spoke for a while and stopped speaking.
I was observing him, he went silent for a long time before he said “I was not in the duty that night. Someone came to me and said my daughter was very ill all of a sudden. I had to take an emergency leave and rush home to see my child. But when I reach my home, my child was playing with her mom” he explained slowly.
I remember that night when I came running in front those vampires the guard was not here. Was it a coincidence that the guard was gone and I got attacked by the vampires. Why on earth the vampires were roaming around only that night?
He opened his lips and spoke again “The next day when I came back to work, all the building was in chaos. No one knew what had happened but your door was broken and there were bloods all over the parking lot and stairs. We first thought you were dead already. But When we were searching for clue then someone in black suit come and said you send them here, they even fixed the door and cleaned the appartment. They said you moved out somewhere else to live” he paused and looked at me “Why are you here now? What had exactly happened? ” he seemed curios.
The man must be someone from Mr. gold’s man. I have to ask what had happened after I passed out? What happened to those vampires? And in all those people in the building, why did they target only me? A lot of thoughts were going on my head. I was clueless to many things and I was curious to know what was the truth.
“Tring tring” I got startled when my phone started to buzz inside my bag. I was dragged back to reality. I checked out my bag and the call was from Rick. Wasn’t he gone just now? What happened to him now?
I picked up the phone call and a stressed voice came from the other side “Hello Riley, where are you? ”
“Why? What happened? ” I asked him back as I got a feeling that it had something to do with his plan.
“Uhh, I need your help again.. If you can” he begin to speak as of formality.
“What is it? ” I asked him. I was getting out if patience by now.
“I was wondering if you can go and get Anyee to the resturant. I’m all ready by now but I think she’ll know in a second if she sees me in this clothes. So I was thinking if you can get her to the place, it’ll be a real surprise for her”
“That is indeed true. How come you think of it just now when you were planning for so long? ”
“Uhh, my makeup man just gave the idea and I have no-one to turn to except for you. Hehehe ” he chuckled..
“Ohh.. ok. I’ll get her to you just send me the address”
“Why don’t you tell me where you are so that I can came pick you up, I’ve a dress for Anyee that you need to make her wear too”
“What? How..? What am I going to say? ”
“I don’t know ”
“Yaar… OK.. I’ll try my best. I’m at the park outside my building ” I told him this address because he never knew I was not living here for a few days.
“Oh, ok. You wait for me there, I’ll be there in ten minutes” he said.
“Don’t rush, drive safely ”
“It’s already four Riley, only one hour left before Anyee’s office hour to end” he spoke up.
“Shut up, it’s a lot. Drive safe”
“Ok mam ok” he hung up the call. And I walked out of the gate.
“Where are you going? Are you coming back? ” the guard uncle yelled from behind.
I tilted my head backwards and saw him waiting for my answer anxiously.
“No uncle, I’ll won’t come back”
I didn’t look back as I walked away from the building. I don’t know if life was going to chase me back to this place but if possible I never wanted to come back here. Why? Because I can’t erase those memories from my head and I can’t have peace with those thoughts in my head.
I reach the park in a while and I sat on the bench. It was still the same fresh air in the park but now it was making me suffocated. I was looking at the place where I met those vampires that night and I could feel sweats dripping on my forehead and my knees going weak. I stay there stopping my heartbeat totally.
In a while a group of children came to play there. Thanks to them I felt less scared. I sigh as they played here and there. I was looking at them while a car came and stopped in front of the park.
I smiled at him as my phone in the bag begin to ring. I took out my phone and walked towards the car.
“Hii ” he smiled showing his full teeth. He was wearing a blue coloured suit and pant along with white shirt. He was really looking handsome in his deess for real.
I opened the car door and sat there.”What am I going to do for an hour? ” I asked him.
“It’s not an hour Riley. Only thirty eight minutes left ” he spoke.
“Whatever ” I shook my head “Where is the dress for her”
“Here it is” he handed me a bag. I peeked inside and there was a blue dress. It was packed so I don’t saw much of it.
“I’ll drop you at the company and then go to the resturant. I need to check everything one last time” he seemed so nervous.
I nodded at him and he started car engine. It didn’t took me long to reach the office since I was in a car whose driver had hot and boiling blood specially today.
He stopped the car there “Here is your stop mam”
“Yes driver ” I get down of the car and he went. away.
I was there standing at the road with a bag of cloth in the middle of road. I looked at the watch and still twenty more minutes were there for the working hour to stop.
I sighed and looked around. There was not a single bench here. I then saw a coffee shop at the opposite side and walked to it.
