“Here we are” he spoke up as he glanced at the big mall in front of him. I nodded and came out of it while he took the car in the parking area.
He came back in a few minutes. After that we entered the mall.”Do you know her finger size? ” I glanced around and the jewelry shop didn’t seem to be in the first floor.
“Let’s go to the third floor, I had seen a shop there last time” he added “And her ring finger is just in this size” he took out a key ring out of his pocket.
I walked towards the elevator “How come you have her size just in your pocket? ”
“Ahh, I have been preparing for it for a long time. I have my own ways” he shrink his shoulders with a cheerful smile in his face. He seemed to be over the moon right now.
“You ain’t telling me? “I asked.
He shook his shoulder and we entered the elevator along with few more peoples with us. The elevator started to move upwards and stopped after a few while. We both came out if the elevator.
“This way” Rick lead me to the right side as we came out.
“Well you know this place quite well” just a few steps further I saw a stall. I looked at him for confirmation and he nodded at me. I walked up to the store after Rick.
“Hello mam, hello sir. How can I help you please?” One of the girl came to us and welcomed us.”We have all types if jewellery you want. Please tell me what should I show to you “she was so polite while she attended us.
“I want to see some latest designed rings please ” Rick spoke up with delighted face “For ladies ” he added.
“Sure sir” the girl entered went in and show some rings to us.
I looked at the rings, they all were very pretty and designer ones. They had diamonds in them. I looked at Rick since they seemed preety expensive. But he didn’t seem to care.
“isn’t it too expensive Rick? “I inquired.
“Is it? But they are new designs, why don’t you give me your price range so that I can show you rings in the price ” the girl politely smiled.
“Can you show me something under three to four hundred thousand? ” Rick spoke up his price.
Three hundred thousand was quite big amount. How much had he been saving for this proposal? I tried to calculate the amount in my head.
“Sure sir.” the girl took out another plate if rings. It also had some beautiful rings on it. They seemed so pretty.
“So which one do you think? ” he asked me.
” Umm let me see” I looked at the rings one by one. They had very unique and beautiful design. But one if them instantly caught my eye. That ring had a cervical shape on both ends making a circle and they were getting touched. It had two small diamond on it.
I took it out and showed it to Rick.”I think this one is perfect ” I show him the ring in his hand with a smile.
“Yes Riley, I had my eyes in it too” he smiled lost in his thoughts.
“I know she’ll like it too since you liked it” I shook him to get him out of his daydream.
He looked at me and scratched his head with a akward smile in his face.
“What’s the price?” he asked the counter and then paid the price without bargaining, not even once. He really seem to be in a good mood.
“What now? ” the shopping was almost over. So, I asked him.
“I don’t know, I have the ring and I’ll collect the bookey on the way to home later on. I have chocolates and even the date planned. Now do I need anything else? ” he seemed nervous.
“It sounds perfect Rick. What about the campaign and all? She loves music too” I raised my brows at him.
He nodded “I booked one of the resturant where we frequently keep going. They helped me with the music and I have it all planned.” he smiled.
“I didn’t know you were so romantic person ” I teased him and he seem like blushing a little.
“I’m not.. I’m raw player on this ”
“Are you going to get ready now? ” I asked him.
“Well I guess so, I still need to take bath and go get her and check the restaurant once before I go get her… Phew I’m so nervous ” he sighed.
“Don’t worry everything will go right and she’ll say yes for sure ” I assured him.
“I hope so” he made his finger crossed in each other. He was still not confident of her answer but I was, I just smoked at him.
“Let’s go out then? ” I asked him “You can’t waste your time like this today. Every second is precious ”
I patted his shoulder. He looked at me and then his eyes went wide as if he realised something “You didn’t have your lunch, right? ”
“Forget about it, I’ll get it on my own” I pushed him out.
“But Riley…” he seemed hesitant but I don’t want to spoil his day, their day just because of my hunger.
“Let’s go out. I have already taken a leave, so I’ll go and grab something on the way home ” I assured him.
“You sure you are OK alone. If not I can accompany you at least untill you eat.. I ”
“Shut up, just go already now” I shoved inside the elevator and any I also squeeze myself in.
“Thank you for your time” he said..
“What thank you, Am i not your friend? And I didn’t did much anyway, it was as if I was accompany you ”
“Actually I was so nervous and afraid that she might not accept me… So I called you so that you can boost up my confident, hehe” he smiled.
“So, was I helpful? “I asked him with raising one of my brow.
“You were 125% helpful ”
“Ya… Don’t say like that, I might have my nose swollen out of pride” I joked.
“Haha… You should have. You have a small nose anyway ”
“I’ll go get my car and drop you somewhere at food place ” he walked towards the parking lot. I was nodding at him even though he was out of the sight.
He stopped his car in front of me and opened the window for me. I open it and hopped inside the carhe started his car and drove on the highway. He then dropped me in one of the small restaurant at a side of the road before he sped away.
I had lots of time left with me and I didn’t have anything to do. I walked inside the resturant and ordered some noodles for now. I thought of heading home after this. I wondered what was the appartment like after that faithful night.
Was it still the same? The broken doors and my room… I still remember it being so messy before I passed out.
“Your noodles mam” the waiter dragged me back to the real world. I looked at him and smiled.
“He might think, I was a freak.” I shook my head to shush away the thought and drink the soup. Food on the roadside resturant are always the best. They had so organic flavor that everyone loves. It take us back to our childhood to be true.
“Bill please ” I raised my hand to the waiter as I drop down my spoon.
“Wait a second mam” the waiter was still attending the couple aside so he put me on hold. I wanted to go check on my previous home so I opened the Mobile App and then booked one cab. Thankfully the cab was around, I gave him the location of the resturant and said he’ll be here in five minutes.
The waiter came up to me and handed me the bill. I paid for the noodles along with some tips for the waiter. I usually don’t do that but today I let it be and get out of the resturant.
After around two or three minutes, one cab came and stopped just in front of me. I sat on the car and gave him the direction. He nodded at me and started the car.
I was silent all the way to the apartment. I was looking at the passing familiar road. One part of my heart was still reminding me that I still can back off and I still had time for that. It was so afraid and shaken after the last night at that appartment.
