Joshua even applauded, saying, “Leo, you’re really impressive!”
“Leo, take it easy, don’t drink recklessly out of anger,” Erica cautioned Leo, worried about potential issues arising from his drinking spree.
Madame Godwin remained calm. She knew Leo’s capabilities; mere white wine couldn’t harm him.
After the surprise, Blair’s expression turned a bit unpleasant. Leo drinking from the bowl was a bit too intimidating.
However, Blair was caught in a dilemma. When he toasted Leo earlier, Leo drank without hesitation. Now, it was Leo’s turn to toast him. If Blair refused, it would be a loss of face and make him appear cowardly in front of Madame Godwin and Erica.
Summoning courage, Blair forced a smile, saying, “Mr. Bloomer, you’re right. A real man eats meat heartily and drinks a big bowl of wine!”
Blair thought Leo was intentionally showing off. At the same time, he was confident in his own drinking capacity. Taking the wine bottle from Leo, he followed Leo’s lead and filled his rice bowl.
Lifting the bowl, Blair unconsciously swallowed saliva and then brought it to his lips, finishing it in one go.
Drinking from a large bowl was something Blair had never tried. Although it took a bit longer than usual, he eventually emptied the bowl of white wine.
The impact of fifty-four-degree white wine was intense, and Blair began to feel a strong urge to vomit in his stomach.
Suppressing the nausea, Blair put on a casual smile and said, “We’ve had our drinks; let’s start eating.”
Leo didn’t press Blair further. He tasted the restaurant’s most famous roast duck.
The taste was undeniably excellent, much better than the roast duck at Langstel.
Leo picked up a piece of duck leg and gently said to Madame Godwin, “Amelia, have a taste.”
This lovey-dovey gesture made Blair’s eyelids twitch a few times.
Joshua also changed his tune, praising Leo, “Bro, you not only have a good capacity for alcohol but also treat my cousin well.”
Erica added, “Young, wealthy, and thoughtful, a perfect example of a good man.”
Joshua and Erica’s praises made Blair even more uncomfortable.
Considering his family background, education, and even his looks, Blair seemed superior to the guy named Leo in front of him.
However, for some reason, Blair didn’t feel the usual superiority he held in front of Leo. Not only that, seeing Leo so close to Madame Godwin, he felt a slight sense of frustration.
Proud Blair couldn’t allow himself to bow his head in front of Leo. After eating some food, Blair’s courage returned. He poured himself more wine, lifted the bowl, and said to Leo, “Mr. Bloomer, let’s have another round!”
Leo opened another bottle of white wine, filled Blair’s bowl, gestured with his own, and downed it in one gulp.
Blair’s expression remained unchanged, and he said, “Mr. Bloomer, you’re indeed generous!”
Leo made a gesture as if to say, “Your turn.”
Blair had no choice but to force himself to drink the entire bowl of white wine.
Now, Blair’s face quickly turned red, and hints of drunkenness appeared in his eyes.
As for Leo, with two bowls of white wine down, he showed no signs of being affected.
“Leo, Blair, don’t just focus on drinking; eat more dishes,” Madame Godwin pointed to the table full of delicious dishes, reminding them.
Since they were already a bit tipsy, Blair decided to go all in. “Madame Godwin, as the saying goes, a thousand cups of wine are not too much when shared with a friend. Although Mr. Bloomer and I aren’t exactly bosom buddies, we get along well, and we must drink to our hearts’ content.”
Blair refilled his bowl with wine and downed it in one go. Leo naturally followed suit. Now, Blair appeared even more intoxicated, his body swaying a bit.
Aware that he was reaching his limit, Blair quickly picked up his chopsticks, attempting to suppress the white wine in his stomach with food. Leo, with an unchanged expression, refilled his bowl with white wine.
“Meeting is fate; let’s drink together,” Leo raised his wine bowl, addressing the group.
Erica, Madame Godwin, and Joshua lifted their glasses.
Leo looked at Blair, who reluctantly put down his chopsticks, refilled his bowl with white wine, and raised his wine bowl.
“I’m done; you guys go ahead,” Leo said, bringing the bowl to his lips and finishing it in one go.
Witnessing Leo’s drinking capacity for the first time, Joshua couldn’t help but admire, “Bro, you’re truly bold in drinking.”
At this point, Blair realized that challenging Leo in a drinking game was a mistake. This wasn’t drinking; it was practically water!
As a pursuer of Madame Godwin, Blair couldn’t allow himself to back down in front of his romantic rival. He gritted his teeth, poured the white wine into his mouth, and this time, Blair couldn’t take it anymore. The intense nausea overwhelmed him, breaking his patience.
He stood up abruptly, ignoring any concerns about face, and rushed towards the restroom.
Before reaching the restroom, Blair couldn’t hold it in. He covered his mouth and made a retching sound.
Not far from Blair, a well-dressed middle-aged couple enjoying their meal heard Blair’s retching and immediately lost their appetite. The woman looked at Blair disdainfully and complained, “If you can’t drink, don’t drink. It not only ruins others’ appetites but also disgusts people. You’re dressed nicely but lack manners!”
After her comment, she saw vile substances overflowing from Blair’s fingers. Even the woman felt nauseated, slamming her chopsticks on the table, loudly exclaiming, “Disgusting! I won’t eat anymore!”
Other diners around heard the woman’s complaint and turned to look. Witnessing Blair’s embarrassing state, many joined in the scolding.
Blair, still sober at this point, pretended not to hear the complaints and continued towards the restroom.
After a while, Blair returned from the restroom after thoroughly vomiting.
From that moment on, Blair dared not drink with Leo again.
After the meal, the somewhat dazed Blair painfully paid the bill. The group left the Drunken Immortal Pavilion and headed to the outdoor parking lot.
Seeing Leo walking straight to an imposing Bugatti, Joshua couldn’t help but exclaim, “Bro, this is a Bugatti La Voiture Noire! My goodness, please don’t tell me this is your car!”
Leo nodded, and Joshua, filled with excitement, cautiously reached out to touch the car, as if caressing his most beloved toy from childhood.
