“Alright, since Leo wants all the hot dishes here, let’s get them all. As for drinks, would you three like kiwi juice?” Blair scanned Madame Godwin, Erica, and Joshua.
All three nodded in agreement.
“Mr. Bloomer, how about some liquor for us two big men? What do you think of one with 54% alcohol?” Blair stared at Leo, asking with seriousness.
Blair intended to intoxicate Leo; after all, some people reveal their true selves when they drink.
“Sure, real men drink hard liquor. It works for me,” Leo chuckled, nodding.
“Alright, let’s start with two bottles. One for each of us. Is that okay?” Blair, seeing Leo agree, showed a hint of a smile.
Blair was confident in his alcohol tolerance. The plan was to get Leo drunk and make a fool out of him.
“One bottle each? That’s not going to be fun. How about a whole case?” Leo grinned.
“A case!?” Blair’s face stiffened. This guy never follows the rules. Is he treating it like beer or something?
The female waiter nearby, upon hearing Leo’s request, also looked at him in surprise.
“Mr. Bloomer, a case contains twelve bottles. If you want a case, that’s six bottles each. Can you handle it?” Blair stared at Leo, enunciating each word.
Each bottle of alcohol was 500ml, and Blair believed he could handle six bottles. As for Leo, it remained to be seen whether he was bragging or had the capacity.
“Why not? Drinking is meant to be enjoyable,” Leo said confidently, maintaining his smile.
Seeing the two come to an agreement, Madame Godwin and Erica decided not to say much. Joshua, on the other hand, looked forward to their drinking contest.
As the waiter reported the order to the kitchen, the staff there couldn’t help but marvel at the quantity of dishes these five people had ordered.
While waiting for the food to arrive, Blair engaged in some small talk, showcasing his conversational skills. He first shared some stories about the past with Madame Godwin, Erica, and Joshua, making everyone happy. Eventually, the conversation shifted to his recent return to the country.
“The changes in the country over the past three years are remarkable. Medical technology has advanced rapidly. Upon my return, I received invitations from the Academy of Sciences, National Medical University, and a foreign medical institution. I’m a bit puzzled about where to go,” Blair said, a hint of helplessness in his smile, but an undeniable sense of superiority in his words.
“Blair, you’re so amazing! I want to be like you in the future,” Joshua complimented.
Leo, however, knew that the topic was about to turn to him.
As expected, Blair shifted his gaze to Leo. “By the way, Mr. Bloomer, I’m curious about your current job. Any impressive heights you’ve reached?”
“I wouldn’t say impressive heights, just making a living,” Leo casually replied, seemingly unwilling to elaborate.
Blair’s lips curled into a playful smile, thinking Leo must be feeling insecure. Not even willing to share his job; he’s probably afraid of embarrassing himself.
Blair didn’t want to miss such a good opportunity to strike. He continued, “Now that you’re Amelia’s boyfriend, and we three are her closest friends, it seems a bit standoffish if you don’t share what you do for a living with us.”
“I’m afraid some people won’t believe it if I say it,” Leo chuckled lightly.
“You didn’t say it, how would we know if we’d believe it?” Blair laughed as well.
“I haven’t done much, just opened a cosmetics manufacturing factory and a traditional Chinese medicine clinic. Also, I’m currently the Chief Jadeite Consultant at Langstel Wilde Jewelry Group,” Leo casually mentioned.
Joshua was immediately astonished, “What? Brother-in-law, you’re so rich?”
Erica, on the side, wore a surprised expression. Blair’s eyelids twitched, clearly not believing Leo’s words. This guy, around the same age as himself, dared to claim to own a cosmetics factory and a traditional Chinese medicine clinic? It sounded like a big exaggeration.
“Haha, Mr. Bloomer sure knows how to joke. If you don’t want to disclose your real job, that’s fine. After all, everyone has their privacy,” Blair laughed out.
In Blair’s eyes, Leo was using this method to conceal his actual job. After all, not everyone could compare to him.
“I thought my brother-in-law was really a billionaire. Leo, you’re just joking,” Joshua said, a look of realization on his face.
“Leo isn’t joking. He really has a cosmetics manufacturing factory and a clinic,” Madame Godwin suddenly interjected.
This statement left Erica and Joshua stunned, both turning their gaze toward Leo. So, what Leo said was true?
Erica giggled, “Being Madame Godwin’s boyfriend, you can’t be without some skills.”
Blair looked at Leo, playfully saying, “Mr. Bloomer, I didn’t expect you to be so accomplished. While building your own business, your family must have lent a hand, right?”
Leo smiled indifferently, “If I say I started from scratch, would you believe me?”
“Believe, of course I believe,” Blair replied intentionally.
As the waiter began serving the dishes, a case of white wine was also brought over.
Blair took a bottle of white wine, filled Leo’s empty cup first, then filled his own cup. He said, “Mr. Bloomer, nice to meet you. No need for formalities. Come, I’ll toast to you.”
After saying this, Blair raised his glass, downed the entire contents. The amount in the glass was at least four ounces.
After finishing the drink, Blair put down the glass with a hearty expression. Then, he looked at Leo with a somewhat challenging gaze, as if to say, “Do you dare to drink with me?”
Leo naturally saw through Blair’s intentions, smiled, and immediately lifted his cup, finishing it in one go.
“Mr. Bloomer, impressive drinking capacity!” Blair exclaimed.
Blair didn’t believe that Leo’s drinking capacity could surpass his own. His intention was to get Leo drunk and let Madame Godwin witness the embarrassing state of a drunkard.
Leo put down the cup and unexpectedly said something that surprised Blair, “This cup is too small. Drinking with this kind of cup feels too refined. Mr. Jones, how about we use bowls to drink?”
“Drink with bowls?” Blair was dumbfounded.
This guy, did he think he was a character from an ancient Chinese story, eating meat and drinking from large bowls?
While Blair was still in shock, Leo took the wine bottle, asked the waiter to bring two clean rice bowls, handed one to Blair, and poured a full bowl of wine for himself.
“Mr. Jones, among men, drinking from large bowls is more enjoyable. Come, I’ll toast to you!” After saying this, Leo raised the bowl filled with wine and drank it all in one go.
This not only left Blair dumbfounded but also Erica and Joshua.
