As for the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator itself, it seemed utterly unperturbed by the thrown grenades.
“Boom, boom, boom!”
The grenades exploded upon impact with the colossal creature. However, the powerful explosions merely caused the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator to flinch slightly, with no damage to its tough purplish scales. The grenades couldn’t even scratch its hide, indicating that these scales were harder than steel.
“Unbelievable! They had no effect at all!?” Roy exclaimed, his eyes widened in disbelief. As a special forces operative, he knew the power of grenades quite well. If hand grenades couldn’t penetrate the scales, then it meant the scales were tougher than steel plates.
Master Grant laughed triumphantly, “Tiny little grenades, trying to harm my precious pet? Such a foolish dream!”
Leo had anticipated that grenades might not be effective. The smaller Purple Thunder Spirit Alligators had already demonstrated their resistance to bullets, so it was no surprise that this biggest boss could withstand hand grenades as well.
“Curitis, use the bazooka to attack Master Grant!” Leo ordered.
Curitis efficiently loaded a rocket into the launcher, slung it over his shoulder, and aimed at Master Grant, who was perched on the back of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
He pulled the trigger, and with a swift “whoosh,” the rocket streaked toward Master Grant.
Though protected by the electric barrier, Master Grant didn’t take any chances. He sneered and lifted his foot and leaped into the air.
Almost simultaneously, the bazooka passed beneath Master Grant.
“Boom!”
A deafening explosion echoed through the air. The rocket struck the small wooden cabin on the other side of the pool, shattering it into countless pieces that erupted into flames.
“Just a rocket; you could never hit me!” Master Grant laughed triumphantly. However, when he turned to see his cabin reduced to ashes, his expression darkened.
“You bastard! How dare you destroy my house!” Master Grant landed back on the back of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator, and with a stomp of his right foot, he commanded, “Big baby, it’s time to show these insignificant humans your might!”
The colossal Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator let out a strange roar, its enormous body rising fully from the water. Arcs of electric energy danced across its massive form, and its massive jaws crackled with electrifying energy, sending shivers down anyone’s spine.
With a series of crackling noises, the electric energy gathered within its enormous maw, darkening the surroundings as it built up.
“Boom!”
An immensely powerful lightning bolt shot forth from the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s mouth, slicing through the air and directly striking Leo, who had taken cover behind a large pine tree.
Leo had prepared himself and, with a swift adjustment, redirected his inner energy to sidestep the attack.
The lightning bolt struck the pine tree mercilessly, causing it to explode into pieces and burst into flames.
The colossal creature’s head tilted slightly, and the lightning bolt swept through once more, annihilating three towering pine trees before they too caught fire.
After the lightning bolt vanished, the area where Leo had been was devastated, resembling the aftermath of a gasoline bomb explosion.
Despite the ferocity of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s attack, it hadn’t managed to harm Leo in the slightest. Emerging from the pine forest, Leo began to formulate a new plan.
The Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator had formidable defenses. To deal with it, breaking through its defenses was imperative. Once that happened, grenades and rockets would have a chance to kill it.
The only viable method to break the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s defenses was to use a formation.
With a plan in mind, Leo summoned a Gale Talisman and swiftly moved towards the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
The smaller alligators that had previously retreated into the water began to crawl back onto the shore under the guidance of their mother, and they opened their jaws to spew lightning orbs towards the group.
Armed with various weapons, the team retaliated.
Explosions resounded once more, shaking the entire mountainside.
Leo’s speed was exceptional. After dodging several lightning orbs, he appeared about ten meters away from the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
Master Grant, standing on the creature’s back, noticed Leo charging toward them. He narrowed his eyes and shouted, “Kid, if you’re so eager to die, I’ll do you this favour!”
Master Grant was so intrigued by Leo’s use of talismans that he momentarily forgot to control the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s next move.
Leo, with his plan ready, raised his right hand. Five Thunder Burst Talismans appeared in his grasp, then took flight one after another, forming a circular formation that hovered in front of him.
Master Grant was curious about Leo’s use of talismans, to the point of forgetting to command the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s next action.
Leo rapidly formed a series of hand seals, channeling his inner energy to link the five Thunder Burst Talismans together.
“Hum!”
The five Thunder Burst Talismans suspended in mid-air simultaneously emitted a golden radiance, connecting with each other to create a complex pattern.
This spectacle caused Master Grant’s heart to skip a beat. He quickly barked, “Big baby, eliminate him!”
As a spirit beast, the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator possessed strong instincts to detect danger. It took a couple of steps forward, its massive jaws opening wide as it lunged towards Leo.
Leo had already completed his formation. Seeing the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s jaws closing in, he remained calm. With a flick of his right hand, the five Thunder Burst Talismans, radiating a golden glow, adhered to the creature’s forehead.
Simultaneously, Leo leaped backward, moving as effortlessly as a leaf, swiftly evading the creature’s bite.
“Bang!”
The enormous jaws of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator snapped shut, producing a muffled sound as they failed to capture Leo.
Leo’s pupils glinted with determination as he formed a hand seal with both hands.
“Boom!”
An explosion, akin to a nuclear blast, resounded.
Immediately followed by an eerie, agonizing scream.
Looking back at the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator, its forehead was now a bloody mess. It thrashed its colossal tail violently, causing the ground to tremble with each strike, sending up a spray of water and dust.
“You little brat, dare to hurt my precious pet!” Master Grant exclaimed in shock. He quickly summoned his inner power and struck the injured area of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s forehead with an icy blue palm strike.
“Boom!”
The icy blue palm print shattered within the fiery glow, releasing a dense mist. The mist gradually extinguished the flames left by the Thunder Burst Talismans.
Once the flames were completely extinguished, the protective scales on the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s forehead were shattered, and a smell reminiscent of roasted meat wafted through the air.
“Roar!”
The Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator lifted its head with an infuriated roar, then charged towards Leo with a determined stride.
