Leo decided to seize the moment and dashed into the pine tree forest.
The Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator didn’t hesitate to follow, its colossal body akin to a small mountain, breaking numerous sturdy pine trees in its path. While it couldn’t be stopped, the dense trees did slow down its rampage.
Leo shouted as he dodged, “Quick, attack its forehead!”
Curitis and the others, hearing Leo’s command, retrieved their grenades, pulled the pins, and threw them at the wounded forehead of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
It’s worth noting that those with a special forces background had excellent accuracy. Nearly all of the grenades landed squarely on the creature’s forehead.
After a series of explosions, the wound on the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s forehead worsened, with blood spurting out like a fountain. The excruciating pain drove the creature into a frenzy, and it opened its massive jaws to bite wildly, causing even more destruction to the nearby pine trees.
So the team took cover in the pine tree forest, hurling grenades at the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator. Though it tried to evade under Master Grant’s control, it couldn’t avoid all the grenades, as there were always one or two that exploded on its forehead.
“Here’s a big present for you!” Clark sneered, holding a grenade launcher on his shoulder as he pressed the trigger.
“Whoosh…”
The grenade shot out, trailing white smoke like a miniature guided missile, heading straight for the wounded forehead of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
“Damn it!”
Standing on the creature’s back, Master Grant knew well that if the grenade hit the injured part of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s forehead, it would deal a severe blow. He couldn’t allow that to happen.
With a flick of his sleeve, a baby-fist-sized purple pearl appeared in his hand. After infusing it with his inner power, Master Grant waved his right hand, sending the pearl hurtling towards the grenade.
“Boom!”
The grenade collided with the purple pearl and exploded in mid-air before reaching the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator. The powerful shockwave almost sent Master Grant, who was standing on the creature’s back, flying.
“You dare to attack my precious pet, I’ll slaughter you!” Master Grant was visibly shaken by the grenade explosion. He roared and stomped on the back of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator, propelling himself into the air and lunging at Clark, who was hiding among the pine trees.
Jennifer, seeing this, leaped from her hiding spot in a pine tree and moved to intercept Master Grant.
Although Jennifer had regained her martial prowess, reaching the upper-tier martial master realm, there was still a significant gap between her and Master Grant, who had already broken through to the grand master realm. Fortunately, Curitis and the others occasionally provided covering fire, preventing Jennifer from being overwhelmed.
The alligators in the water had all climbed onto the shore, following closely behind the massive mother alligator, relentlessly bombarding the pine tree forest.
Meanwhile, Leo and the rest were forced to retreat to the edge of the pine tree forest, as they were outnumbered. Once they left the protection of the trees, their situation would become even more perilous.
“No, we have to eliminate the mother gator as soon as possible!” Leo’s gaze grew determined.
The saying goes, “To catch a thief, catch the ringleader first.” If they could deal with the mother gator, the other smaller alligators might become fearful and hesitant to continue their attack.
Leo drew his Blue Phantom Sword and, instead of retreating, advanced. After a few forward thrusts, he leaped onto the back of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
The Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator detested Leo the most. Feeling Leo standing on its back, it roared continuously, violently swinging its body, trying to shake Leo off.
After a few violent shakes, Leo still clung on, but the spikes on the creature’s back began to release terrifying electric sparks, striking at Leo one after another.
Leo summoned an Ice Talisman to block the electric attacks.
Then, his eyes glinted with determination. He gripped the Blue Phantom Sword, charging toward the wounded forehead of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator.
Leo quickly channeled his inner energy, infusing the Blue Phantom Sword with power. Finally, with both hands on the hilt, he thrust the sword forcefully into the forehead of the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator. The Blue Phantom Sword, already sharp as a razor, became even more formidable with the added infusion of energy, and the entire blade plunged deep into the creature’s forehead.
The Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s massive body stiffened for three seconds, then collapsed with a resounding crash. The excruciating pain made it roll uncontrollably on the ground, toppling entire sections of the pine forest.
After delivering that fatal blow, Leo leaped off Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s body and quickly retreated to a safe distance to avoid being crushed by its colossal form. Blood gushed like a fountain from the wound on Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s forehead, and the sky seemed to rain blood, staining the ground crimson.
“My precious!” Master Grant’s eyes turned bloodshot, and his anger surged. With his immense strength, he struck Jennifer with a palm, sending her tumbling and spitting blood.
Master Grant didn’t intend to kill Jennifer but instead turned toward Leo with a murderous intent. “You, scoundrel! Today, either you die, or I perish!”
“Come back, Blue Phantom Sword!” Leo sneered and had no intention of engaging in close combat with Master Grant. He altered his incantation and shouted a command.
“Swish!”
Controlled by the incantation, the deeply embedded Blue Phantom Sword was forcefully pulled out from the Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s forehead.
As Blue Phantom Sword was withdrawn, the creature’s forehead spewed hot blood like a whale exhaling water, drenching the entire ground in red. The massive body of Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator writhed and rolled on the ground, causing the earth to tremble. Several pine trees were snapped in half by its massive tail.
After struggling for a moment, Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s blood flow increased, its vitality quickly dwindled, and it gradually ceased moving.
The ferocious Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator met its end under Leo’s last fierce strike!
Purple Thunder Spirit Alligator’s death drove Master Grant insane. He roared and unleashed all his internal energy, charging at Leo as if he were ready to risk it all.
“Since you care so much about your precious pet, then you can join it,” Leo taunted. He formed a sword gesture with his left hand, extracted a drop of his own blood from his body, and let it slide onto Blue Phantom Sword’s blade.
“Buzz!”
Blue Phantom Sword absorbed Leo’s blood, trembled for a moment, and emitted a buzzing sound. Strange blue-purple patterns appeared on the blade, looking incredibly mystical.
“Blood Offering, Strike!” Leo chanted an incantation with his left hand and shouted coldly. His right hand released the Blue Phantom Sword.
“Swoosh!”
The Blue Phantom Sword transformed into a streak of blue light and shot towards Master Grant with incredible speed.
Seeing the charging Blue Phantom Sword, Master Grant’s face turned pale. He knew the might of the Blue Phantom Sword. In a split second, he swiftly dodged to the side, successfully evading the incoming blade.
