Meanwhile, in the underground basement of an entertainment club, there was an underground fighting arena. A burly and muscular figure stood triumphantly in the ring, raising his hands high and roaring in victory.
This underground fighting arena was under Bob’s control, and it had resumed operations since his return. However, due to the recent economic and policy changes, business in the underground fighting arena had been dismal. The decline was partly due to a decrease in the enthusiasm of the spectators for betting on fights and partly because the fighters in the arena lacked the passion during their matches; it felt like they were just going through the motions.
However, ever since this guy named Bevis appeared in the ring, the lifeless underground fighting arena had been reignited. The betting amounts had multiplied several times over.
Bob, standing by a huge French window, furrowed his brows and asked his subordinate named Chasel, “How many fighters has that guy defeated today?”
Chasel’s expression grew solemn, and he said with a wry smile, “Mr. Abe, that guy named Bevis is a maniac. He has knocked out all thirteen fighters in the arena, and not a single one of them lasted more than two rounds against him.”
“Thirteen fighters knocked out in one go? Are there any good fighters left in the arena?” Bob was shocked and surprised.
Chasel pointed outside and said, “The last fighter, who is also the strongest in our arena, is on the stage now.”
Bob redirected his attention to the stage.
In just one minute, the last fighter could only hold on for a minute before being knocked down by Bevis, and he couldn’t get up anymore.
The people around the ring immediately erupted into cheers, loudly chanting Bevis’s name.
Chasel, who managed the arena under Bob, was feeling quite frustrated. “Mr. Abe, I believe that guy is deliberately here to ruin our reputation. If we don’t defeat him today, our underground fighting arena will suffer huge losses.”
Bob was well aware of the gravity of the situation. If the management couldn’t control the pace of the underground fighting arena, it would undoubtedly lead to financial losses.
The computer screen in the room displayed the current financial situation, showing that the arena had already incurred losses of over ten million.
The gamblers in the arena were all betting on Bevis to win. In other words, the only way to turn the arena’s finances around was to defeat Bevis.
After knocking out the fourteenth opponent, Bevis became even more arrogant on the stage. He wore a disdainful expression on his face and shouted, “In such a big arena, is there not a single fighter worth facing me? Rubbish, all of you are trash!”
“Bob, that guy is getting too arrogant. Should we consider taking some special measures?” Chasel made a gesture with his hands, indicating the possibility of using underhanded tactics.
Bob thought for a moment, and a trace of cold determination flashed in his eyes. “Chasel, give Mr. Bloomer a call. Tell him to come over. As for Bevis, I’ll deal with him myself.”
“Bob, that guy’s combat ability is terrifying. Maybe we should wait for Mr. Bloomer to arrive and deal with him together?”
“A real man doesn’t back down from a challenge. No one can trample on me without consequences,” Bob declared resolutely before leaving.
Seeing Bob approaching the ring, Chasel quickly took out his phone to call Leo.
On his way home, Leo’s phone rang. He answered the call from an unknown male voice.
“Hello, is this Mr. Bloomer?”
“Who’s this?”
“My name is Chasel. Mr. Abe’s place is in trouble, and he asked me to call you for help.”
“Are you talking about Bob Abe?”
“Yes.”
“What happened?”
“Mr. Abe’s underground fighting arena has a crazy guy who knocked out fourteen fighters in a row. To stabilize the situation, Mr. Abe went up to the ring himself.”
Leo pulled his car to the side of the road and said, “Tell Bob not to be impulsive. If he can’t win, he shouldn’t force it. Give me the address, and I’ll come right now.”
If Bob was in trouble, Leo wouldn’t stand idly by.
After ending the call, Leo followed the address provided by Chasel and arrived at the location. Bob’s underground fighting arena was hidden beneath a club, and within half an hour, Leo reached the club.
After announcing his name, a guy quickly led Leo to the underground fighting arena.
“What’s the situation now?” Leo asked the guide.
“The situation is dire. Mr. Abe may not last much longer,” the guide said urgently.
Entering the arena, the deafening cheers nearly deafened Leo’s ears.
“Bevis, knock him out with one punch!”
“Bevis, you’re awesome! I’ve bet everything on you!”
“Bevis is incredible. Even Bob, the big shot of the gray area, isn’t his match!”
“So impressive! This is the most exciting fight I’ve seen in years!”
Leo’s sharp gaze focused on the ring, where a tall and burly figure, like a little iron tower, was currently pummeling Bob with punches and kicks.
Bob, at 6’3″, was already quite tall, but compared to the giant Bevis, he seemed a head shorter.
Bob was heavily injured at this point, with bruises covering his body, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, and his eyes swollen. Yet, he hadn’t fallen; he was still hanging on.
Bevis delivered another punch to Bob’s face, causing Bob to stagger back three steps, his body swaying.
Bevis took a step forward and then kicked toward Bob’s chest, attempting to knock him out of the ring.
If that kick landed solidly, it would have sent the already injured Bob flying out of the ring.
Leo’s body swayed, and he rushed onto the ring, throwing a punch at Bevis’s right leg.
“Bang!”
The punch collided with Bevis’s leg, producing a muffled sound.
Bevis’s right leg went numb, and he stumbled backward, nearly falling.
Leo caught Bob just as he was about to collapse onto the ground.
After enduring for such a long time, Bob was seriously injured, covered in bruises, bleeding from his mouth, and both eyes swollen shut.
“Bob, you’re at least a big shot in this area. Was it really necessary to step into the fight yourself?” Leo said with a wry smile.
Bob, bearing the pain, managed to force a smile. “Leo, I can relax now that you’re here.”
Chasel rushed onto the ring to assist Leo in helping Bob. “Mr. Abe, are you okay?”
“Look at him in this state. Doesn’t look fine at all, does he? Hurry up and get him off the stage for medication!”
After Chasel helped Bob down from the ring, Leo shifted his focus to Bevis.
Bevis had been scrutinizing Leo. He was confident that even an elephant wouldn’t stand a chance against his kicks. But to his astonishment, Leo had easily pushed him back with a single punch. This led Bevis to one conclusion – the guy facing him was no ordinary opponent.
With Leo’s height resembling that of Bob, the contrast between them and the towering Bevis was striking. Leo’s punch that had sent Bevis stumbling backward had caught the attention of the spectators, and they were once again roaring with anticipation, eager for an even more spectacular showdown.
