Chapter 282: Someone behind This

Curtis and Roy exchanged glances, excitement gleaming in their eyes. It had been a while since they’d handled weapons since their discharge from service, but they quickly approached and carefully examined the cargo.
Soon, both men finished their inspection and turned to Leo. “Mr. Bloomer, these are all top-notch goods,” they reported.
Master Moulton grinned with satisfaction. “My friends, these goods are all imported, the latest in high-quality merchandise. You can have these three crates.”
“I won’t buy,” Leo suddenly interjected.
“What!?” Master Moulton gasped, thinking Leo was playing with him. His men instinctively reached for their weapons, raising their guns.
“I want to rent,” Leo clarified.
“Rent?” Master Moulton’s face displayed a wry smile. “My friend, I suggest you finish your sentences in one go. Renting is fine, but the monthly rent for these three crates is one million.”
In this place of law, these weapons were like time bombs, so Leo didn’t want to purchase them. When he needed them, he could have Master Moulton’s men deliver them.
“Alright, you keep them for now. When I need them, I’ll contact you,” Leo agreed.
“My friend, aren’t you worried I’ll take your money and run?” Master Moulton asked, testing Leo.
“Whether it’s a one-time profit or a long-term one, I believe you can tell the difference. Besides, if you ever think about running off with my money, be prepared to use your life as payment,” Leo’s voice remained calm but filled with unwavering confidence.
“Interesting, my friend, I’ve made a deal with you!” Master Moulton nervously chuckled.
Just then, the sound of car engines and tires on leaves erupted from the surrounding woods. Within moments, over a dozen Land Rovers burst out of the forest, encircling the camp.
In just a few breaths, more than ten Land Rovers burst out of the forest, encircling the camp.
Simultaneously, the doors of the Land Rovers swung open, and more than fifty people disembarked, brandishing an assortment of weapons, all aimed at everyone in the camp.
A leading man, robust but balding with thinning hair, approached Master Moulton, laughing heartily. “Moulton, you made me search quite hard, but today, I finally caught you.”
Leo’s gaze briefly paused on this middle-aged man before settling on an elderly, slender figure in a gray robe standing beside him. “Jonathan Mac?”
Seeing the approaching middle-aged man, Master Moulton’s mouth twitched slightly, his pupils slightly constricting, a palpable hatred in his voice.
It was evident that Master Moulton and Jonathan Mac were arch-enemies.
Master Moulton’s group, unwilling to back down, aimed their weapons at Jonathan Mac’s people. However, due to the difference in numbers, Master Moulton’s group was at a disadvantage.
Master Moulton’s eyes turned icy as he asked Jonathan Mac, “Jonathan Mac, what’s the meaning of this? Do you want to disrupt our agreement?”
“Agreement? What a joke! When you were cheating me a month ago, did you ever think about agreements?” Jonathan Mac sneered in response.
Master Moulton’s voice grew colder. “Jonathan Mac, are you sure you want both of us to lose?”
“Lose? Hilarious! Today, all of you will die right here!” Jonathan Mac laughed derisively, oozing confidence.
Master Moulton’s eyes twitched, an evil smile forming. “Jonathan Mac, since you’ve dealt with me for so many years, you should know that I, Master Moulton, like to have an ace up my sleeve.”
With that said, Master Moulton clapped his hands, and a dim red light flashed in the gloomy woods. Several red dots landed on Jonathan Mac’s heart.
Jonathan Mac knew the meaning of these red dots. His facial muscles twitched.
“Do you want to kill me? You’ll have to accompany me in death!” Master Moulton sneered.
The atmosphere grew tense and eerie as Master Moulton and Jonathan Mac faced off, staring each other down.
Leo cleared his throat impatiently. “You two can settle your issues on your own. I’m not here to play. Goodbye!”
Leo’s words immediately caught Jonathan Mac’s attention. He scrutinized Leo and then asked Master Moulton, “Is this the person you’re dealing with?”
Master Moulton remained silent, and Leo frowned. “Baldy, I don’t want to be dragged into your quarrel. Tell your men to clear a path; I’m leaving.”
Baldy? Did this kid really just call him baldy?
Jonathan Mac’s facial muscles twitched twice. His hair was the thing he cared about the most, after all.
Though he had thinning hair, he could at least use the hair on the right side to cover his receding hairline. He despised nothing more than someone calling him baldy. This kid was really pushing his buttons, and he had had enough.
“Kid, what kind of nonsense are you spouting? How dare you speak to Mr. Mac in that tone?” Jonathan Mac hadn’t lost his temper yet, but a man in a navy-blue T-shirt behind him quickly pulled out a gun and aimed it at Leo.
Leo’s gaze turned cold, and he secretly flicked his right hand, sending an invisible Qi (energy) blade.
The Qi blade was intangible and almost impossible to detect in the night. The next second, something bizarre happened. The men who had aimed their guns at Leo suddenly clutched their wrists as their blood spurted out, and they screamed like wild beasts.
This scene left everyone stunned, and some of the more timid individuals looked around, thinking it was supernatural.
Jonathan Mac froze for two seconds, his pupils contracting. He steadied himself and pointed at Leo, shouting, “Shoot him, kill him!”
Leo flicked his right hand again, summoning an Ice Talisman.
“Bang! Bang! Bang…”
In the dark, the gun muzzles continuously emitted flames as bullets gathered into a net, closing in on Leo.
Another bizarre scene unfolded. As the bullets were fired from the guns, they inexplicably halted in mid-air in front of Leo, frozen in time.
It was as if time itself had stopped, and the bullets hung motionless in the air. Only upon closer inspection could one see the truth: a thick ice wall had formed around Leo, and the bullets had all penetrated the transparent ice wall.
Leo clenched his right hand, bellowing, “Shatter!”
With a deafening roar, the ice wall shattered, and the bullets embedded within it were sent flying back.
Accompanied by cries of pain, the men who had just fired at Leo collapsed to the ground.
Just as Leo prepared to unleash another Qi blade at Jonathan Mac, the elderly man in the gray robe moved.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of Jonathan Mac, clenched his fist, and struck.
“Flame Fist!”
With a punch of fiery red, the Qi blade in mid-air dissipated into nothingness.
This old man was an advanced-stage martial artist!
