Not long after Ella left, the Butler, Mr. Bill, walked in holding an exquisite wooden box.
“Master, the hundred-year-old wild ginseng has arrived,” the Butler said, approaching August Browne.
August Browne gestured for him to hand the wild ginseng to Leo.
Leo took the box and opened it, instantly engulfed by the unique aroma of wild ginseng. He could even sense the spiritual energy within it.
“A hundred and thirty years old wild ginseng, not bad,” Leo expressed his satisfaction.
This statement surprised Mr. Bill since the wild ginseng was sent by someone else, and Leo could accurately determine its age with just a glance, precisely one hundred and thirty years.
Just a brief look allowed Leo to ascertain the ginseng’s age; this young man was no ordinary person.
“Mr. Browne, my purpose in coming today is to treat your ailment. It’s your turn now,” Leo’s gaze fell upon August Browne.
Using his spiritual power and his eyes, Leo could already make a rough diagnosis of August’s condition.
“Leo, you’ve spent the whole afternoon on treating my daughter. It’s getting late now. How about we have dinner first and proceed with my treatment tomorrow morning?” August Browne showed some courtesy after recognizing Leo’s medical skills.
“I have no problem staying here for the night. However, can you endure the pain at midnight?” Leo said, causing August Browne, Dr. Lee, and Kenneth Joshua’s expressions to change.
At midnight, August Browne experienced peculiar pain in his body, a secret known only to a few.
August subconsciously looked at Dr. Lee, thinking he might have informed Leo beforehand.
Dr. Lee shook his head, indicating that he hadn’t told Leo anything.
“Don’t look at me like that. Since I dared to accept Dr. Lee’s invitation and come here, it means I’m confident in treating Mr. Browne’s condition. Let’s have dinner first, and at midnight, I’ll cure your ailment and eliminate the pain.” Leo decided to fill his stomach first and then find a place to continue cultivating and restore his spiritual power.
Hearing this, August Browne felt a surge of joy. He had been suffering from this peculiar illness for a long time and had visited the best hospitals and sought the best doctors in the country, even going abroad for remedy, but nothing worked.
The pain was so unbearable that it felt like worse than death. If Leo could heal him, he would be willing to give him not just one wild ginseng but ten or even a hundred!
August Browne called the Butler and instructed him to ask the kitchen staff and maids to prepare their dinner.
While heading to the dining room, Leo suddenly stopped August Browne and whispered a few words in his ear.
August Browne’s face showed a suppressed smile. He stood in place and said to Leo, “Leo, just do as you wish.”
Leo took out his phone and handed it to Dr. Lee. “Dr. Lee, could you take a picture for us?”
Dr. Lee received the phone and saw Leo wrap one arm around August Browne’s shoulder while making a victory gesture with the other, wearing a mischievous smile on his face.
Dr. Lee smiled and captured the moment.
Taking back his phone and looking at the picture with his triumphant smile and August Browne’s serious expression, Leo was quite satisfied. Since he wasn’t going back home tonight, he wanted to have some evidence to prevent any misunderstandings.
Before dinner, Leo called Sophia.
As expected, their conversation went like this:
Leo: “Wifey, I won’t be coming home tonight.”
Sophia: “Who’s your ‘wifey’? Who says I’m your wife?”
Leo: “Since you won’t divorce me and we have a marriage certificate, you are my legally recognized wife.”
Sophia: “Why won’t you come home? Do you think you can spend your money recklessly outside now that you’re rich?”
Sophia’s words showed that she believed in the saying that ‘money makes men change.’
Leo: “I’m here today with Dr. Lee to treat August Browne, the chairman of Azure Cloud Group.”
Sophia: “I don’t believe you.”
Leo: “There’s evidence. I’ll send you a photo on Whatsapp.”
After ending the call, Leo sent the photo to Sophia via Whatsapp.
Seeing the photo Leo sent, Sophia couldn’t help but smile, especially his silly grin and victory gesture, which made him look adorable.
Putting the phone away, Leo went to the spacious dining room.
On the long oval European-style dining table were various sumptuous dishes. Leo recognized some, such as Irish stew, American grilled salmon, and creamy deep-sea lobster, but there were many others whose names he couldn’t pronounce.
Leo was genuinely hungry and didn’t bother about maintaining a good image while eating, as filling his stomach was the priority.
Kenneth observing Leo’s eating manners, muttered, “Such a bumpkin. I bet he’s barely had any fancy cuisine in his life.”
After the main course, there were post-dinner drinks and desserts.
By the time they finished dinner, it was already eight in the evening.
Leo strolled around the villa’s courtyard, admiring the bright stars in the night sky and sensing the faint spiritual energy around him. An idea formed in his mind.
He found Mr. Bill, the Butler, and asked, “Mr. Bill, where is the highest point of Clouddream Mountain?”
Mr. Bill thought for a moment and replied, “It should be near the stone called Heaven’s Extreme.”
“Heaven’s Extreme?”
“It’s a huge stone to the north of Clouddream Mountain. There’s a legend about it,” Mr. Bill said, eager to share.
“What legend?” Leo was curious.
Mr. Bill organized his thoughts and began, “Legend has it that in ancient times, an immortal went to the deepest part of the southern sea and brought back a massive stone, the Heaven’s Extreme Stone, to protect himself from lightning strike. After successfully overcoming the lightning, the immortal left this stone at the highest point of Clouddream Mountain. Since then, Clouddream Mountain has been considered a blessed place by cultivators who seek immortality and they come here to cultivate. Some even tried to lift the stone, but none succeeded. The legend says that the stone can absorb the essence of heaven and earth, contain boundless spiritual energy, and after countless years, give birth to life.”
“Do you know about Sun Wukong? A legendary character from the Chinese classic novel ‘Journey to the West’, and he is also commonly known as the ‘Monkey King’. It is said that he was born from the Heaven’s Extreme Stone…”
Mr. Bill was now thoroughly engrossed in the legendary tales, seemingly wanting to tell Leo everything he knew.
Seeing Mr. Bill go on and on, Leo quickly interrupted him and headed straight to the highest point in the north where the stone was located.
The night was slightly chilly, but for Leo, who had just enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, the temperature was just right.
