Seeing that Leo even dared to hit the manager and the security guards, Ruby, the waitress, quickly led him to the poolside.
At the pool, five people were gathered – three men and two women. The two women were busy catching fish in the pool, while the three men stood by, making cheeky comments and laughing.
Normally, the staff here would assist with fishing, but these three men enjoyed watching the women they brought here fish, reveling in their charm and allure.
“Florence, your fishing moves aren’t quite right. Arch your back a bit more,” said the man in the striped shirt.
“Madeline, your skirt got wet. Let me help you lift it a little higher,” said another man.
Among the three young men, the one in the striped shirt laughed audaciously.
“Derrick, which one do you like better? Tonight, I’ll arrange for her to help you unwind,” said the tall and thin guy next to the striped-shirt man with a wicked grin.
“Lester, what are you talking about? I don’t like the idea of choosing just one. I want both of them!” Derrick Baldwin declared, giving a slap on the but of one of the women.
Lester, with an even more lecherous smile, said, “That’s possible.”
“And it must be possible!” Derrick touched the woman’s skirt.
“Yay, I caught a fish!” The woman in the skirt cheered.
Derrick laughed heartily. “Give the fish to the server. Today, you’ll eat the fish, and I’ll have you.”
“Derrick, you’re such a naughty boy!” The woman in the skirt showed no signs of anger.
Another guy in a T-shirt next to Derrick chimed in, “Derrick, the white jade turtle we sent to the kitchen earlier is a nourishing delicacy. Should we also invite Alicia…”
Derrick pretended to ponder and nodded solemnly. “Hmm, that’s worth considering.”
Just then, Leo appeared with a white fish in his hands, interrupting their lecherous banter.
T-shirt Guy looked at the fish in Leo’s hands and exclaimed, “Hey, isn’t that the one we ordered just now?”
“So, it’s you who want to steal my fish?” Leo’s cold gaze swept over them.
“You think it’s yours just because you say so? Try calling it, see if it listens,” Lester taunted.
“I placed a reservation for this fish first,” Leo replied calmly.
“You reserved my foot! Whatever Derrick wants is his! If you don’t give it up, you’ll regret it,” T-shirt Guy threatened.
“I’ve heard that line too many times. Here’s a choice for you: go tell the restaurant manager you don’t want the fish anymore, and we’ll let it slide,” Leo said nonchalantly. He preferred not to resort to violence in a restaurant.
Derrick stepped forward, playfully looking at Leo. “Kid, it’s been a while since someone dared to be so arrogant in front of me. I like it.”
While Derrick spoke, Nicola walked over and stood next to Leo.
Lester’s eyes shifted from Leo to Nicola, and he said softly, “Derrick, Rupert, this girl looks pretty good.”
Seeing Nicola’s athletic and perfect figure, Derrick and Rupert nodded in agreement, thinking it was worth picking up.
The commotion had caught the attention of other diners, who turned to watch. Some recognized Derrick and thought, “That guy holding the turtle is in for trouble.”
Derrick took a couple of steps forward and greeted Nicola, extending his hand. “Hey, beautiful, I’m Derrick Baldwin. How you doing?.”
The move of introducing himself usually worked like a charm, with most girls’ eyes lighting up upon hearing their names.
Unfortunately, Nicola remained expressionless, not even acknowledging Derrick’s greeting, let alone shaking hands with him.
Derrick awkwardly retracted his hand and shifted his attention back to Leo, saying, “How about this: you ask the lady with you to dine with us, and I’ll give up the turtle?”
Leo didn’t say a word but delivered a swift kick.
Derrick let out a wail as he fell into the pool.
Nicola smiled and lightly teased Leo, “You sure have a way with violence, always kicking people around.”
“If I don’t kick him, I can’t express my current emotions,” Leo replied calmly, maintaining his composure.
Lester and Rupert rushed into the pool to help Derrick up. Lester threatened Leo in retaliation, “You dare kick Derrick? You’re done for! Do you know who Derrick’s father is? He’s the Mayo…”
“Shut up!” Derrick splashed water in Lester’s face.
When Leo had kicked him into the pool, Derrick accidentally swallowed some water. He may be a second-generation of a powerful family, but he wasn’t stupid. In times like these, revealing his father’s identity would only invite trouble. Many officials had been taken down in the news for such behavior.
Manager Becky hurriedly rushed over, alarmed to see Derrick looking like a drowned rat. “Mr. Baldwin, what happened to you?”
Derrick tried to use the situation to his advantage. “Are you blind? Someone attacked me, and you, as the restaurant manager, did nothing. It seems you don’t want to keep your job!”
Derrick, aware of Manager Becky’s background, wanted to take advantage of it.
With a murderous look, Manager Becky glared at Leo. “Kid, how dare you fight in my restaurant? You’re the first one to do so, just wait! You’ll pay a painful price for what you did today!”
As Manager Becky reached for his phone to make a call, suddenly a black card was handed to him.
Seeing the black card, Manager Becky trembled, and his finger, which was about to press the call button, couldn’t land on the screen anymore.
“W-What’s your name, sir?” Manager Becky’s voice trembled as he spoke.
“Leo Bloomer,” Leo replied with his name.
Manager Becky quickly put down his phone and his tone did a 180-degree turn. “Mr. Bloomer, may I take a look at this card?”
Leo handed the card to him.
After examining it for a moment, Manager Becky confirmed that the card was indeed the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon Card.
He hurriedly dialed a number on his phone and provided the card’s unique identifier to the person on the other end. Soon, Leo’s name came through the phone’s receiver.
Then, in front of the astonished crowd, Manager Becky knelt down before Leo with a thud.
This scene left everyone dumbfounded.
Derrick and his companions exchanged puzzled glances, thinking that Manager Becky’s brain had suddenly malfunctioned.
