The two of them sat at the table, and since Nicola was treating, and it was a place she brought him to, Leo turned his gaze to her.
Nicola said, “Let me see the menu first.”
“Sure.” The waiter handed the menu to Nicola.
Nicola looked through it and said, “Flounder with tartare, creamy lobster soup, sashimi.”
After ordering three dishes, Nicola passed the menu to Leo. “I ordered some of the restaurant’s signature dishes. Take a look and see what you want.”
Leo ordered a seafood trio and then handed the menu back to the waiter.
“Sir, for the seafood trio you ordered, we need you to come with me to select the ingredients.”
Leo nodded and followed the waiter outside.
The waiter led him to a large circular pool, which was divided into many small areas on the left side, each containing various types of seafood.
Leo chose an Alaskan king crab, an Australian lobster, and a gooseneck barnacle.
But as he was about to leave, his eyes involuntarily fell on a turtle in the freshwater area. This turtle’s shell had a special color-it was translucent white-and Leo could sense the presence of spiritual energy from it.
Wow, this is a great find!
If he paired this turtle with certain medicinal herbs and made it into a medicinal dish, it would definitely enhance his own spiritual power.
The waiter noticed Leo’s gaze fixed on the turtle and asked, “Sir, that turtle is a rare species called the White Jade Turtle. Would you like to have it?”
“How many of these turtles do you have in the restaurant?” Leo asked.
The waiter was taken aback. Judging from the customer’s tone, it seemed like he wanted more than one. But this turtle was the most expensive one in the restaurant, costing ten thousand dollars for just one.
“Sir, there’s only one.” The waiter replied.
Leo said directly, “I’ll take this turtle, but I don’t want to eat it now. Please pack it for me, and I’ll take it after the meal.”
“Okay, sir.” The waiter agreed.
Leo returned to the private room, and soon the ordered dishes were served one after another.
After a morning of exercise, both of them were hungry, so they began to eat heartily.
Just as Leo and Nicola were almost full, a man was led into the private room by the same waiter from before.
The man was wearing a suit and had a potbelly with some balding. He asked the waiter next to him, “Ruby, does the customer here want to take away the White Jade Turtle?”
Ruby, the waiter, nodded, “Yes, Manager.”
The manager took a glance at Leo and Nicola and looked unfamiliar.
“Sir, madam, I apologize for affecting your meal. I’m Devin Becky, the manager of this restaurant,” the manager introduced himself.
Nicola looked at him and asked, “Manager Becky, is there something you need?”
“Well, the thing is, you ordered the White Jade Turtle just now and said you wanted to take it away. Can you give it up?” The manager tried to put on a polite expression.
In the food and beverage industry, customers were treated like gods, and this kind of mindset was necessary.
“Turtle?” Nicola looked at Leo in confusion.
“When I went out to pick seafood just now, I ordered a turtle.” Leo said and looked at Manager Becky, puzzled. “Manager Becky, I already said I wanted to buy the turtle and take it away. Why do you want to keep it here?”
The manager, still trying to explain, said, “Sir, when our staff was preparing the turtle for you, another customer showed interest in it, so…”
Before Leo could lose his temper, Nicola stood up, displeased, and said, “What do you mean? We already claimed the turtle, and now someone else wants it, so you want us to give it up?”
“There’s only this one White Jade Turtle, and those customers who just came are not ones we can offend, so we were hoping you could show some understanding…” The manager tried to reason.
Leo let out a cold laugh, “You can’t afford to offend those customers, but does that mean you can afford to offend us?”
Hearing this, Manager Becky’s expression stiffened for a moment.
Although he was just the manager of this restaurant, this place was still a part of the Azure Cloud Group’s industry. Those who came to eat here were wealthy individuals who would give him some respect, yet this guy didn’t know how to show respect.
But Manager Becky held his position and didn’t want to lose his temper. He suppressed his anger and said with a forced smile, “Sir, if you are willing to give up this turtle, we will compensate you by offering a 30% discount on your meal. How about that?”
“30% discount?” Leo smiled, “Even if you don’t want my money for the meal, you have no right to transfer the turtle to someone else. Since it’s something I want, you have no authority to give it to others!”
Hearing this, Manager Becky’s expression turned cold, “The White Jade Turtle belongs to our restaurant. Although you said you wanted it, you haven’t paid for it yet. Therefore, our restaurant has the right to dispose of it. Moreover, the guests who just came are not someone you can offend!”
“Since Manager Becky says so, then I’ll just take it myself.” Leo said as he walked out of the private room.
“Hey!” Manager Becky hurriedly chased after him.
Leo headed straight to the kitchen.
The White Jade Turtle, which had been happily bathing in the pool, was now lying on a cutting board. A chef with a knife was about to perform a dissection.
The chef raised the knife, ready to make the cut.
“Stop!” A loud shout froze the chef in place, and the knife didn’t fall.
Leo had already rushed in and grabbed the turtle from the cutting board.
“What… what are you doing?” The chef was startled by Leo.
Leo ignored the chef’s expression and held the turtle in both hands as he walked out.
Outside, Leo stopped a waiter and said coldly, “Pack this turtle for me.”
“No, you can’t take it!” Manager Becky shouted.
The waiter was startled.
“Fine, I’ll pack it myself!” Leo said as he reached
for his pocket.
Manager Becky stood in front of him, his face turning dark, “You can’t go too far!”
“What are you going to do?” Leo met his gaze.
“Put the turtle back and we’ll give you a 30% discount on the meal. Finish your food and get out!” Manager Becky was getting angry, disregarding his image.
“I’ll say it again, I want this turtle. Is there something wrong with your ears?” Leo said sternly.
Manager Becky was furious and reached out to snatch the turtle from Leo’s hands.
Leo kicked him, sending Manager Becky falling to the ground.
Manager Becky struggled to get up from the ground, pointing at Leo, “You… you dare kick me?”
“I kicked you, and I’ll kick you again, you lowly creature!” Leo said.
“Security, get back the turtle, and then throw this guy out!” Manager Becky couldn’t care less about his image now and shouted in anger.
Two security guards ran over, trying to grab the turtle, but before they could even touch it, Leo kicked them both to the ground.
Leo walked up to the waiter who had led him to pick seafood before and said coldly, “Who wants my turtle? Take me to meet them.”
