Chapter 73: Must Run

“Thud!”
It sounded like a giant hammer hitting a broken drum.
In everyone’s gaze, the football was held tightly in Carey’s arms, but in the next second, he spewed out a mouthful of blood and flew backward.
Fortunately, the goalpost stopped him.
Carey’s body fell from the goalpost, and the football that was tightly held in his arms rolled out.
The ball went in the goal frame and !
The onlookers cheered; this shot was too powerful.
Miranda blew the whistle and loudly announced, “Third penalty, goal!”
Seeing Carey still kneeling by the goalpost unable to get up, his lackeys rushed over.
“Carey, what’s wrong with you?”
“Should we call an ambulance, Carey’s vomiting blood!”
“Carey, don’t scare us.”
“I’m… I’m fine.” Carey finally caught his breath amidst the concern of everyone.
If he hadn’t practiced internal martial arts, he would have been bedridden for ten days after taking that shot.
“That kid dared to hurt Carey so badly. I’ll beat him up!” Josh exclaimed, ready to go after Leo with his gang.
“Don’t you dare move!” Carey roared in a low voice, then slowly braced herself up.
Under the confused eyes of his men, Carey endured the pain in his abdomen and walked toward Leo step by step.
“Boy, you win.” Carey looked at Leo with a cold eye.
Leo approached Carey, still maintaining a calm smile. “That’s the bet you made. Keep your word.”
“Are you sure?” Carey suddenly felt that this guy was completely unreasonable; even when he offered him a way out, Leo wouldn’t take it.
Leo nodded firmly, “Absolutely sure.”
Carey immediately felt hundreds of pairs of eyes on him, and it was an uncomfortable feeling.
Then Miranda spoke, “Carey, you challenged Leo yourself, and now you lost. Don’t try to weasel your way out of it. You know I despise men who don’t keep their word.”
Hearing this, Carey’s stern expression turned bitter. If it were someone else saying this, Carey would ignore it, but these words came from his dream girl.
If he didn’t keep his word, the image he had worked so hard to build would crumble.
Now, he faced a dilemma: his pride or his image in Miranda’s heart.
But if he really stripped off his clothes and ran around the football field while saying “I’m trash,” it would also ruin his image.
And if this were to spread, he wouldn’t have face left in the world.
Considering these crucial matters, Carey suddenly smiled at Leo, “Leo, I was just joking earlier. I didn’t think you’d take it seriously, right?”
“I took it very seriously,” Leo replied, his tone without any room for compromise.
Josh was angry, “Carey, this guy is disrespecting you, let me beat him up!”
Carey waved his hand; he had already understood Leo’s strength after that last shot. His gang wasn’t enough for Leo to warm up, and with his injury, fighting would put them at a disadvantage.
Leo seemed a little impatient, “Carey, don’t waste any more time. Get on with it.”
“Carey, let me run in your place!” one of his lackeys stepped forward, “When you made the bet, it wasn’t said that someone else couldn’t run instead!”
Saying that, he began to take off his clothes. Some of the girls in the audience quickly turned their heads.
Carey looked gratefully at this unfamiliar subordinate and patted him on the shoulder, “Thanks, bro. I won’t forget this.”
Soon, the subordinate was left with just a pair of red underwear.
Looking at the red underwear with cartoon patterns, the onlookers burst into laughter.
The gang member paid no attention to the reactions of the onlookers. He said to Carey, “Carey, I’m starting to run now.”
Carey nodded and replied, “I won’t treat you unfairly in the future.”
The guy in the red underwear began running around the soccer field, shouting as he ran, “I’m trash… I’m trash…”
The laughter from the crowd grew louder, and even the shy girls couldn’t help but join in the laughter.
Leo just shook his head with a wry smile, then walked up to Nicola, “Let’s go.”
Now that it had come to this point, it was impossible to continue playing football. Nicola nodded.
Seeing Leo and a woman preparing to leave, Carey didn’t say anything, just glaring at his back.
“Carey, are you letting him go like this?” Josh was dissatisfied.
“Why rush? The real show has just begun.”
Hearing this, Josh felt a shiver down his spine from the expression on Carey’s face.
After changing their clothes, Leo and Nicola arrived at the parking lot.
“Leo, you played well today, but you’ve angered Carey. That guy isn’t someone to mess with; be careful,” Nicola reminded him.
Leo smiled indifferently, “If he wants revenge, let him come.”
Seeing Leo’s confident expression, Nicola didn’t say anything more, changing the subject, “We’ve been playing football all morning; I bet you’re hungry. Let me treat you to a meal.”
“You’ll pay for everything?” Leo teased.
“Of course… not!” Nicola playfully smiled and led the way to her car, “Come on, I’ll take you to a nice place to eat.”
He followed Nicola in the car, and soon arrived at their destination.
Parking the car, Leo glanced at the sign of the restaurant.
In the lower right corner of the sign, there was an inconspicuous blue cloud logo.
This restaurant mainly served seafood, and Nicola took Leo inside.
Once they entered the hall, two waitresses in restaurant uniforms greeted them.
It had to be said that these two greeters were very attractive; Leo couldn’t help but look at them a few more times.
“Welcome, how many in your party?” one of the waitresses smiled.
“Two,” Nicola replied.
“Alright, please follow me.” The beautiful greeter led them inside.
Although the restaurant’s facade wasn’t large, the interior was quite spacious, and the decoration was in European style.
The most eye-catching feature was a circular pool in the center of the hall, divided into two sections: one for marine fish and the other for freshwater fish.
The greeter led them to a private room, and then a waiter came over politely and asked, “Sir, ma’am, would you like to order directly or would you like to choose your ingredients and then select your preferred preparation?”
