As Leo was about to enter the ICU, Sophia hurriedly called out, “Leo, have you thought this through? Don’t assume that knowing some medical skills means you can cure any illness. You don’t have a medical license. Can you bear the responsibility if something goes wrong and someone dies?”
Sophia was a clever woman, and she could tell from the men guarding Renee that her identity was definitely not simple.
If Leo stepped in, and the girl named Anna ended up dead on the bed, these men probably wouldn’t let him go.
Renee looked at Sophia, remembering that she was with Leo yesterday.
“I trust Mr. Bloomer. No matter what the outcome, I won’t hold him responsible for anything,” Renee assured Sophia.
After witnessing Leo’s miraculous lifesaving skills last night, with Anna’s life at stake, she had no other choice but to trust him.
Last night, Renee had already invited the best Chinese medicine doctor locally, but even the renowned Dr. Lee had been helpless in the face of Anna’s condition.
In the early hours of the morning, Renee managed to get Leo’s contact information by using her connections and capturing his image from a video recording on the spot of the accident.
Leo was her last straw.
Leo showed a determined and confident expression to Sophia. “Don’t worry, I should be able to cure Anna.”
Sophia was shaken by Leo’s expression. She subconsciously felt a little dazed as the image of the weak and incapable man she remembered seemed to have disappeared completely.
Leo and Renee entered the ICU.
Several doctors were busy in the ward, and there was an old man pondering beside Anna’s bed. Apparently, he was a Chinese medicine practitioner.
Hearing someone enter, the old man turned around, looking curiously at Leo. “Ms. Browne, who is this?”
“Dr. Lee, his name is Leo, and I specifically invited him to treat Anna,” Renee introduced.
Dr. Lee nodded.
Just in that moment, the monitoring device in the ward started to alarm, and the screen showed that Anna’s vital signs were deteriorating.
“Anna!” Renee panicked.
“Quick, prepare for emergency treatment!” one of the doctors loudly commanded.
The other doctors quickly went into action, some fetching a defibrillator, others preparing the electric shock equipment, and some getting the injection needles ready…
“Stop!” Leo suddenly shouted, then looked at Renee. “Ms. Browne, can you ask the doctors to step aside, please?”
Hearing Leo’s words, the doctors, who were busy just a moment ago, stopped, each holding their various instruments, looking at Leo like he was crazy.
In their minds, they were all thinking: Where did this guy come from? How dare he tell us to step aside? Who does he think he is?
Renee had placed her bet on Leo, so she was about to tell the doctors to stop when she saw that Dr. Lee had already begun to act.
He took out seven silver needles from the box he carried and skillfully inserted them into different parts of Anna’s body.
Life Saving Seven Needles!
This was Dr. Lee’s signature technique.
In fact, if it weren’t for Dr. Lee staying by Anna’s side the previous night, she probably wouldn’t have survived until now.
What Dr. Lee didn’t expect was that after the seven needles were inserted, Anna’s vital signs not only didn’t recover but continued to decline.
The alarm sound of the instruments was becoming harsh.
It seemed to be telling everyone: Give up, give up!
Dr. Lee’s face showed a defeated expression. He had saved countless lives throughout his medical career, and there were hundreds, if not thousands, of people whose lives he had extended. But today, he couldn’t save a poor little girl.
He felt utterly useless.
As a faint virtual shadow appeared on Anna’s body surface, Leo walked to Dr. Lee, took out his own needle bag, and pulled out two silver needles, inserting them into two different parts of Anna’s body.
Dr. Lee originally wanted to stop Leo, as he believed that this young man couldn’t possibly be a Chinese medicine practitioner. Chinese medicine required a high level of experience, which could only be honed with age. At Leo’s age, he probably hadn’t even fully comprehended a single medical book.
However, when Dr. Lee saw where Leo was placing the needles and the faint glimmer at the tip of the needles, his eyes widened in disbelief.
He recognized the technique as the Nine Extreme Mystical Needles, which he had seen briefly mentioned in an ancient medical book but had never witnessed before.
Dr. Lee’s judgment that Leo was practising the Nine Extreme Mystical Needles was based on the fact that after the needles were inserted, a faint white light appeared at the tip of the needles.
Dr. Lee guessed right. Leo was indeed performing the Nine Extreme Mystical Needles, and the appearance of the light at the tip of the needles was due to the infusion of spiritual power as he inserted them.
The alarm sound from the monitoring equipment suddenly stopped, and Anna’s breathing and heart rate returned to normal.
All the doctors in the room were dumbfounded, unable to comprehend how just a few needles could bring someone back from the brink of death.
When Dr. Lee looked at Leo again, the expression in his old eyes was complex.
“No need to use the oxygen mask on Anna. She will wake up in half an hour,” Leo said, sighing heavily.
The Nine Extreme Mystical Needles was a technique Leo had searched for in his mind before going to sleep last night.
This needle technique was derived from principles of tactical deployment of troops in ancient times. By infusing spiritual power into the corresponding acupoints of the patient, their body could absorb the life force of heaven and earth to heal damaged bodily functions.
In simple terms, this needle technique had the effect of bringing back life to the withered.
Of course, without someone using spiritual power, this needle technique would be practically useless.
Hearing Leo’s words, Renee was truly overjoyed and almost wanted to kneel down for Leo again. “Mr. Bloomer, no, Dr. Bloomer, your great kindness, Renee will never forget!”
“Ms. Browne, it’s a bit too much. Let’s all leave so Anna can rest properly,” Leo said, walking out of the ward first.
The doctors who came back to their senses examined Anna again and then left the ward one after another.
When she saw Leo come out, Sophia asked anxiously, “How is it? Is Anna okay?”
“She’s fine now,” Leo replied.
“That’s great!” Sophia’s heart finally relaxed.
