The enemy’s daughter

Cilla.
I had not cried so much in while. Sobs wrecked my weak body as Beata tried to console me, telling me that I would find the twins soon. I tried to believe her for the sake of it, but failed. I couldn’t stop worrying. I had listened in while Jane Willow was interrogated by my husband and his brother. It had been brutal. The whipping must have been worse. Jane Willow was going to unleash all her hatred on my siblings.
“I wish she had taken me instead,” I told Beata. “Why did she take them? They’re innocent.”
Beata rubbed my back. “I’m so sorry, dear. We shall find the twins, eventually.”
“What if Jane kills them? I have to find them as soon as possible.”
“She will not do that. I have heard a lot about this Jane Willow and I think she will try to use the twins to get what she wants before thinking of doing anything to them. You needn’t worry so much. It’ll be well.”
I couldn’t stop worrying. “I can’t just stay here and wait,” I told my friend. “I need to be doing something. This is killing me.”
“Relax, I’ll get you some tea to calm you down.”
I stood up. “I don’t think that will be of any help to me right now.”
I went to the door and was about to open it when someone knocked on the other side. I stopped walked and turned to Beata who just shouted “come in.”
The door opened and in walked a very beautiful young woman. She was tall, pretty and had waist length blonde hair. Her lips were painted bright red and she wore a blue dress that ended right below her knees.
“Hello Cilla,” she said to me. Beata ran over and they hugged each other passionately like long lost friends. I went and closed the door before going to sit on the couch.
“You didn’t tell me you were coming back,” Beata said to her. “What a surprise.”
“I didn’t tell anyone, not even dad. I wonder how he’s going to react. Everyone is surprised that I decided to return after swearing to never come back.”
“You remember Cilla Markle, right?”
“Of course,” She said, turning to me. I had not forgotten about her. Last time I checked she was the spoilt daughter of alpha Aragon. I was surprised she even remembered me when all she used to care about was beauty, boys and parties. “They told me that someone tried to kill you at our pack. That’s so unfortunate. I’m glad you’re okay.”
She sat next to me and I narrowed my eyes. “Are you?”
She nodded.
“My husband ruined your father’s life,” I said.
“And?” she raised her brows. “My father deserved it. He is the reason I ran away from the pack, and now thanks to alpha Ridian, I can stay at home. I’ve missed it here. The human world gets boring pretty fast. Having to turn only once in a month and doing it in a dark basement so I don’t kill any humans sucks.”
Beata came and sat on my other side. “When Alpha Aragon kept getting worse with his policies, Sasha tried to stop him in vain. When she couldn’t handle it anymore, she decided to leave so that she wouldn’t have anything to do with what was happening in the pack.”
“That was brave,” I observed. “Where is your older sister?”
“Kara rejected her manipulative mate and married a human billionaire. Now she travels from country to country without having to pay for anything. It’s a nice life. She likes it, but that kind of life wasn’t for me. I want to be with my family.”
I was beyond shocked by what she was saying. “You’re the one I would have expected to marry a billionaire.”
She chuckled. “That’s true. Everyone though I wouldn’t amount to anything because of my behaviour during my teenage years but people change.”
I nodded, standing up. “It was nice seeing you again. I have to go find my siblings.”
“I heard about that on the way up. I can help you talk to the guys of Crystal pack. Beta Adam is a good friend of mine, and so is the alpha. Well, sort of.”
“I’d like to talk to them by myself.”
“I can take you there if you’d like,” she said. “They will be more receptive if I go with you.”
She was right. The women I had met earlier were right. If I went there, threatening to kill everybody, there was a chance that I would end up dead and Ren and Rose’s fate would be worse than ever. Although Sasha and I had never been friends, she seems to have changed. She seemed like the kind of person I could be friends with.
Sasha was true to her word. I groomed myself and we headed over to Crystal pack. As we walked, she told me all about her adventures in the human world. I was feeling stronger than I did when I arrived at Moonshine pack.
When we arrived at crystal pack, Sasha was welcomed cordially while I was mostly ignored. We met a big strong man at the porch. He was guarded by two equally big and strong man. The man was neither good looking nor ugly. He was what Beata and I had called a ‘survivor’ when we were young. Almost immediately, a couple of women materialised a few metres away and stared down at me.
“His loyal witches,” Sasha told me.
“Sasha Miller,” the big man who I assumed was the alpha spoke. “You have returned.”
Sasha nodded. “Yes.”
“Why are you with your father’s enemy?”
“I’m not her father’s enemy,” I said. “I want to where you’re hiding Jane Willow and my siblings. Tell me where she is?”
Almost immediately, one of the witches was by my side. She grabbed me by the neck. “This will be the last time you speak to our alpha like that.” She let go and pushed me but I didn’t fall. I was stronger than I seemed at the time.
“Lock her up,” the alpha said.
“No, no. Please alpha.” Sasha said. “Please pardon her rudeness. Cilla is so stressed out because of her situation. She’s not in her right mind. That’s why she’s speaking like this.”
“Lock her up,” the man said before walking away. Sasha ran after him, pleading for mercy but her words fell on deaf ears. I began to wonder if I could trust her.
Had Sasha tricked me?
