Ridian’s POV
Although my warriors had strong supernatural powers, they also needed modern weapons. This was because our threats were not always supernatural. Sometimes, we got attacked by humans, and when that happened, we tried as much as possible not to use our supernatural powers in order to avoid exposure.
Although humans were naturally weak, they had created great weapons that could destroy civilisations within seconds. For centuries, they had been using those weapons against themselves. If they could destroy themselves, they wouldn’t have any mercy for other beings. They had destroyed our kind before, whenever they discovered them.
Humans treated other beings like monsters, and yet they were the worst kind of monsters that had ever walked the earth. They hurt others even when they had not been provoked.
“We’re not going to use the human weapons,” I told my warriors as I walked around the straight lines they had made in the clearing by the mines. I had been inspecting them and checking their health for the past thirty minutes. Every one of them looked fit and ready to attack. “We will use our strength and a few rudimentary weapons to get the job done.”
I moved away from the experienced warriors and went to check on the newly recruited warriors. They had recently turned eighteen and most of their bodies were still weak and small. I knew that within a few weeks, they would have changed.
“You have just started training, so this will be your first time. You will not be needed at the frontline, so you will stay back. You will only join the fight if things go wrong for us which I doubt will happen.”
Cilla and I had been very happy together ever since we were married. Her coronation ceremony as the Luna of Blackmoon pack was coming up soon and I was going to give her a great gift. I wanted her to be happy, and what better gift would be better than bringing the man who ruined her life to his knees.
Alpha Aragon of the moonshine pack, Cilla’s original pack had always been an arrogant man, and had got worse with time. After killing Cilla’s parents and sealing the children off, he had become worse. He started killing off most of the subjects who disagreed with him, and sold their children to slavery which did not bode well with his pack members. Unfortunately, most of them could not do anything. I wanted to destroy the man, take over the pack and give my Luna power over it.
After the inspection, I went back to the pack house. Thankfully, Cilla was not around. She had gone off with Camilla and her students. They had started working with a nearby pack. I was happy that she was not around because I hated lying to her. Lately, she had begun to understand me so well that she could sometimes tell when I was lying. I was planning something so big and couldn’t afford to see it fall apart.
After getting what I needed, I handed it to my bodyguard and went back to one of the outhouses to complete the final preparations. We spent the rest of the day finalising our strategies and making plans to travel. When it was time, we set off to the moonshine pack territory.
I stood on top of a rocky hill, studying the vast land beyond. The moon was full and extremely bright. I let out a long, low growl which was answered a few seconds later by the rest of my warriors in a chorus of snarls that echoed through the night. My eyes narrowed as I scanned the territory of the moonshine pack, studying it for any signs of weakness or vulnerability. I could feel the excitement of my warriors as they waited for my commanded, their muscles ready to spring into action.
When I was ready, I leapt from the small hill and launched myself down. The warriors followed suit, their teeth bared and their claws unsheathed as they charged towards moonshine pack.
The pack was caught off guard, their guards and warriors unprepared for the sudden night attack. They snarled and snapped as they fought against my warriors who I had instructed not to kill unless it was unavoidable.
The two sides clashed in a frenzy of fur and teeth, battle cries piercing through the night. The fight become more serious when more moonshine pack’s warriors joined in led by alpha Aragon. He was a massive wolf with pitch black fur. He growled and snarled when he faced me, his teeth bared. I growled as well, and my claws dug into the ground as I prepared for the attack. Suddenly, he lunged forward, his jaws snapping at me. I reacted quickly, dodging the attack before swiping my claws across his face.
As the warriors from both sides fought, Aragon and I circled each other snarling as we searched for an opening. Aragon leapt to the right, his teeth narrowly missing my throat. I countered with a swift kick to his stomach, causing him to stumble backwards. I followed up with bites, sinking my teeth into his back. Another wolf leapt on top of me and tried to fight me but he was overpowered by my warriors whose help I didn’t really need because I could finish the pests by myself.
My fighters fought with utmost strength and ferocity, putting down most of Aragon’s warriors who were very much weaker than mine. It seemed they had not been training for a while. Because of that, they stood no chance against my strong warriors who trained regularly. I snarled as I took one more bite into Aragon’s’ hard flesh. He let out a small howl before collapsing on the ground. I stood over his whimpering wolf and let out a triumphant howl, my wolf dripping with sweat and blood. I had emerged victorious so alpha Aragon his men had to bow down to me. Moonshine pack was finally under my control and I couldn’t wait for Cilla to know.
I intended to make her coronation ceremony better than our marriage ceremonies. She was going to be so happy.
