“Why should I get a divorce?” Derek snorted coldly.
Serina was more confused by his question.
“Why wouldn’t you. Ernest took the wrong ID and we got registered by mistake. You didn’t know me, and we do not have any feelings for each other.”
Serina looked at Derek with her big bright eyes.
“Who said I didn’t know you?” Derek said coldly.
“You’ve heard of me before?” Serina suddenly raised her voice.
How could the Great Demon King know her? Did Ernest mention her to him before?
Derek looked away and stood up, “No.”
“But…” Serina was a little disappointed, “You just said…”
“Are you hungry?” Derek did not wait for Serina to finish her sentence. He changed the topic.
“I…” Serina’s stomach happened to rumble.
“I’ll ask people to send some food here.” Derek walked out of the bedroom.
Derek paused at the door for a few seconds. He seemed to be thinking about something. Then he left.
Serina lost her appetite when she saw a table full of vegetarian food. She rested her chin on the table and stared at the dishes with a worried expression.
“I’m not a rabbit. I don’t want to eat grass. I want meat!”
Derek glanced at her and said, “You are injured. You can’t eat greasy food.” As he spoke, he put some broccoli and mushrooms in Serina’s bowl.
“It took several hundred million years for humans to reach the top of the biological chain. What would our ancestors think if they see us eating rabbit’s food?” Serina curled her lips.
“Do you want to eat or not?” Derek’s stared at her.
Serina felt that he was getting angry. Therefore, she immediately straightened up her back and said, “Yes!” She picked up the chopsticks and started stuffing food into her mouth.
She didn’t dare to anger this man. He might get violent and she was too weak to fight him.
For the whole day, Derek worked on his business in the study room. Serina’s back was injured and she couldn’t fall asleep. Therefore, she stayed in the media room and watched movies one after another.
After dinner, Serina went back to her room to sleep. To her surprise, the room had changed a lot.
The servants just finished changing the sheets and blankets. Seeing Serina enter, Molly hurriedly said, “Ms. Serina, Mr. Derek asked us to get some new beddings for you. They are made from the best skin-friendly cotton. They are very soft, and they would not rub hurt your wounds.”
“OK.” He was concerned about her injuries.
“We also prepare some new clothes for you in the cloakroom. If you need anything else, just let me know.”
Serina nodded. After Molly left with the servant, she immediately rushed into the cloakroom.
They were really quick. Most of the dresses had been taken away and only a few were left here. They got her some pants and T-shirts, which were more her style.
‘Is this also an order from the Great Demon King? Well, he’s quite sweet.’
Serina changed into comfortable pajamas. When she walked out of the cloakroom, she saw Derek enter the bathroom.
“Hey, you know, I’m injured, so I can’t…. We are not staying together in the same room tonight. Right?”
She only heard the sound of water.
Serina sat on the bed in frustration. She couldn’t see through this man.
After a while, Derek went out. He wore black pajamas and looked serious. There was light in his eyes, but Serina couldn’t tell anything from them.
They were deep and fascinating.
“Hey! Did you hear me? We can’t….” Before Serina finish, Derek turned around. She was startled.
“Serina.” He called her name gently.
“What?”
“You’re afraid that I’ll sleep with you. So why didn’t you ask for a divorce?”
Derek didn’t notice it before. However, today Serina asked him why he would not divorce her. ‘She could divorce me. Why didn’t she do that?’
According to Serina, she should also make the move.
“I…”
Too many things had happened these days. Serina hadn’t asked Derek to help her deal with Sammy and Clara.
Serina smiled at Derek, “How dare I? You are the older one….”
“Am I old?”
“No! Not at all! You’re just five years older than me. Just five years…”
Derek gently pinched Serina’s chin. Looking at Derek’s handsome face, Serina felt that her little heart was about to jump out of her chest.
Serina had been fascinated by so many celebrities since childhood, yet none of them could compare to the man in front of her!
“Serina, you’re mine.”
It sounded like a call from hell, dark and haunting. His tone was casual, but it was an irresistible order to her.
Serina really wanted to reply with “Yes, sir”.
Derek let go of Serina’s chin and went straight to the bed. Serina trembled and followed him. Derek gently held her in his arms.
Serina soon heard Derek’s even and heavy breathing.
‘What? Is he that tired…?’
That night, for some reason, Serina had a sound sleep.
When she woke up in the morning, Derek had already left. Serina went downstairs for breakfast, Henry told her that Derek had already gone to the company.
Serina was bored and didn’t know what to do. At three o’clock in the afternoon, she received a call from Sammy. He wanted to see her.
To Serina’s surprise, Sammy asked to meet her in a bar. This would be the first time they went to a bar together.
Serina decided to go see him. But Henry would not agree to her leaving.
“Mr. Henry, please. I will come back on time. I swear!” Serina raised her hand and made a gesture.
“Ms. Serina, last time, you ran away at the mall. Mr. Sammy fired all the bodyguards on duty. Please don’t make things difficult for me.” Henry didn’t want to be fired at this age.
“Mr. Henry, please. I know you are a nice person. I’ve learned my lesson. I won’t run away anymore. And I didn’t run away last time. I just went home to deal with some stuff. Don’t worry. I will definitely come back.”
At this moment, Henry received a phone call from Derek’s secretary, saying that Mr. Derek would be back at late hours tonight.
“Ms. Serina, Mr. Derek is working overtime today. You can go out, but you must…”
“Don’t worry. I will definitely come back on time! You can ask someone to follow me!”
Serina looked really sincere, so Henry agreed.
The driver sent Serina to the bar that Sammy said.
It was at dusk and there were just a few people in the bar. Sammy was sitting in a corner, drinking wine.
