“Kolten is not suffering from amnesia, he is pretending for reasons I don’t know.” I said.
“What? But why would he do that?” Elvis frowned.
“That I don’t know. Later when Samuel leaves him, I will try to ask him secretly.”
Elvis nodded but his face is tangled. I am sure he cannot process the reason why Kolten had to pretend.
Samuel’s pov
Is Kolten pretending? But why would he?
I cannot determine if he is really sick or not.
But rating how everyone told me the story when I was almost dead, he displayed his deepest fear of losing me, even went on sleeping with me for three long years just to make sure that I would wake up one day. So I think there is no reason for him to pretend just like before.
I shook my head, I do not want to suspect Kolten negatively, I made that a promise to myself. What I need to do now Is to take good care of him, stay by his side until he is back in shape.
I love him, and I want to make a family with him, unify frozen and inferno wolf clan for every tribe member’s benefit.
And to help each other grow and hone our son.
Whatever happened between our fathers in the past, it has nothing to do of what we will be having in the future.
My father was said to be in love with Patrick during their youth.
But I am proud that even if it was hard for his defeat, he did not do anything stupid when he lose the game winning Patrick over.
I was raised by my grandfather since my father died, everything he instilled in me about Inferno wolf clan were pure lies, but I am glad that I had the chance to know what really happened and decided my being accordingly. If I proceeded believing him, I might have lost the opportunity to enter Inferno wolf clan’s territory peacefully. All that mattered to me might still be my revenge.
I looked at Kolten eating the porridge that I prepared for him, I feel relieved that he seems to like it as usual.

Kolten’s Pov
The porridge tastes good like usual.
While I was eating, I was looking at Samuel seated at the coach near my bed.
He is carrying Hale who eventually fell asleep in his arms.
Seeing him carrying hale, attending to his cute simple demand, my heart is melting.
He is a loving father to Hale, and I am sure about that.
He has changed a bit, from being the King of the frost wolf clan, he always had assistants beside him. He orders everything to them, basically not doing a lot of things.
But now, I can see a totally different Samuel. He is like an ordinary person, just like those ordinary fathers in the normal human world.
How I wish we can just go to the normal human world and live our life peacefully, no clans, no kingdoms, no competitions, just live simple and peacefully.
But that is not possible.
We are destined to be half human and half wolves, sure then that our only choice is to do better and maintain peace.
Samuel signaled me, he stood up from the couch, walked towards my bed and laid Hale.
Our cute boy, is sleeping very deep.
Somehow I feel happy. At last, even with my state of pretending I can cuddle my son tonight.
He will sleep with me.
“Are you done eating?” Samuel’s voice is very cold but I find it sweet.
I nodded.
“Okay, rest a little, then go back to sleep. Our son missed you so let him sleep with you tonight, is that okay?”
He looked straight to my eyes while talking. I avoided him, scared that he might see me lying through my eyes.
“Kolten, this shall pass. Once your memories will come back, we can start a new if you allow us to be.”
Samuel sat near our son while he was talking.
I looked at him quick then looked at the other direction.
“Why, are we lovers? I mean, who are we before I lost my memory?” I asked. I still have high hopes that he will be honest to me. That he would tell me everything even him knowing that I am not in good condition.
“I don’t know how to say who are we, because I cannot say that we had a label before you forgot your memories. All I can say is that I have a lot to cope with you.”
“What do you mean?” I was a little bit confused the way he answered me.
“I was never good to you, I have betrayed and hurt you several times. I never did good toy you. I was always a heartache to you.” His expression changed. He bowed his head looking at his hands on his lap while talking.
“I am sorry but I don’t understand what you mean. Can you make it a little clearer? “
Just when he was about to speak when someone knocked outside.
He stood up and opened the door. Behind the door leaf is Daniel.
“Can I come in?” I heard him say.
Samuel did not talk but he wide opened the door then went out without looking at me or saying anything.
Daniels Pov
When Samuel opened the door, I see loneliness in his eyes. Probably because what he knew is that Kolten has an amnesia.
I don’t know what’s running in Kolten’s mind. But priest Patrick and King Elvis asked me to ask Kolten about what is happening.
“Kolten, I am glad that you are awake. Your fathers asked me to talk to you and ask you about your plan.”
“What plan?” Kolten asked me.
“Don’t tell me that you pretending to me is a part of your plan.” I looked him in the eye.
“Your fathers asked me to come and talk to you. now tell me what is about your pretentding. Hurry up before Samuel comes back.”
Ewan who has long served Samuel knows a lot about his strength. So detecting liars are part of it.
Kolten must know about this before he makes a mistake. Besides, what is he up to this time?
“Tell them not to worry, I just wanted to test Samuel. I don’t want to make a wrong decision taking him in my life again and be left with so much regrets one day.” Kolten’s face changed.
“Test him for what?”
“Test his intentions to me. If he is not up to being selfish and using me again. I am tired of being betrayed Daniel. This is his last chance.” Kolten’s eyes turned red.
“Okay, are you sure this is the only reason? Why do you have to test him? He almost died three years ago for your son. Is that not enough to prove that he is not that evil selfish?”
I explained, trying to make Kolten realize some possibilities and to allow him to see other insights.
“Daniel, it can be possible that he did that just to preserve a future ruler of frost wolf clan. And his sacrifice was not really meant for Hale.”
I was shocked to hear his reasons. If he really believes that Samuel is a selfish evil, why did he sacrificed himself to have slept for three long years with Samuel then?
“I was fooled by my heart several times, and that is enough.”
Kolten’s explanation has a point somehow.
Samuel’s Pov
I did not want to do things that would offend Kolten, but I cannot understand why I am this curious to listen to their conversation inside the room.
I broke another rule, I heard everything they have talked about.
So, Kolten is pretending again, he is not really convinced that I saved our son because I love and care for him.
I was hurt, but I understand him. I cannot blame him if he doesn’t trust me.
It is my fault after all.
I have long been telling myself that I must win him over.
But of what I just heard, I am not sure this time.
After I heard what he did for me, I was so happy and confirmed to myself that he really loved me.
Kolten’s pov
“But can I ask you something?” Daniel asked.
“What is it?”
“Do you love Samuel?” He straightened his eyes looking at me firmly.
