Chapter Thirty-Two

Book:Impossible Mates Published:2024-5-1

Once I was home, I didn’t eat and just went straight to my room wanting to be alone to think everything through, I nearly fell asleep but loud voices coming from downstairs woke me up, I sit up listening closely to the muffled voices.
“What were you thinking bringing her here?!” The man that I think runs this place shouts, he sounds really angry.
“You always say when someone needs help to bring them here and you’ll look after them,” Max’s voice says  a bit quieter probably more calm than the other dude.
“Normally yes, but she’s the princess, last time she went missing those people kept coming here thinking we had her,  smashing everything up” the guy shouts, it sounded like he threw something “when they come and find her that’s it for us, all of us,” he says I get out of bed as the man spoke up again “I’m gonna have to think of a way to get around this, before we all end up in huge trouble,” he says as a slam of a door fills the house making me jump.
I open the bedroom door from there you could see the kitchen downstairs near where the front door was, Max had his head in his hands sitting at the kitchen counter, as someone walks through the door.
“What do you want?” Max asks evilly at the guy that walked in, it was obvious they didn’t like each other.
“My father said I can speak with Savannah,” the guy says closing the door behind him, Max stands up from his seat looking rather angry at this guy.
“No” was all he said, but the other guy laughs crossing his arms.
“I think you might have forgotten who my father is, he runs this place, he tells everyone what to do, you’ve already angered him don’t annoy him even more by telling his only son he can’t do something,” the guy says taking steps towards Max who sighed.
“She’s sleeping,” he says but the guy walks towards the stairs anyway, making me quietly walk back into the bedroom closing the door behind me, I just made it to the bed when the door opened the guy walking in smiling towards.
“You look very asleep” he smiles closing the door behind him so Max couldn’t hear our conversation, which freaked me out a bit.
“I was nearly asleep but shouting from downstairs woke me up,” I say which isn’t a lie, he walks over to the window closing it as he closes the curtains, his whole demeanour changed.
“I heard you’re the princess,” he says walking over sitting in front of me, I nod which makes him look away thinking “well it’s gonna a be hard to sneak you out but it’s not impossible,” he says, standing up walking around the room thinking.
“What do you mean sneak me out?” I ask, where he stops to look at me.
“You don’t really believe your gonna be able to leave tomorrow do you?” He asks walking to sit back on his seat again that was in front of me.
“Your father said-” I say, but he cuts me off kind of annoyed.
“My father is a lier, always has been and probably always will be, once you step foot in this place the women aren’t allowed to leave, the males can for a while but they have to come back,” he says, what that Jazz girl said was true I’m not allowed to leave.
“Why would the son of the guy that runs this place wanna help me escape?” I ask, I don’t wanna be led into some kind of trap again.
“Just because my father runs this place doesn’t mean I like it here, I would have left years ago but if I did, I can’t help others that hate it escape,” he says looking down “you can trust me, I just want what’s best for you and being here isn’t, now is there any way I could get ahold of your family to let them know what’s going on?” He asks, looking at me making my have to stop and think.
“Um you could go to the castle and say you know where I am,” I say in a duh tone, but he shakes his head.
“How do I know if I go there I won’t be arrested for helping kidnap you?” he asks having to explain it a to me more, right yeah that’s true  “oh I know, I’ll record you telling them about it on my phone that way it will come from you, not me,” he says pulling his phone out, actually that is a good idea.
I start speaking through the phone, telling them how this guy was gonna help me escape and they have to trust him blah blah.
Once I finished he stood up telling me what he was gonna do and it did all seemed to make sense, but I still didn’t know if I was gonna work.
“You just need to trust me, okay I’ll get you out of here,” he says walking over to the bedroom door about to leave.
“Wait I don’t know your name,” I say after all that he never told me his name, he turns smiling.
“Rudy” he smiles before walking out the room closing the door behind him.
I lay back on the bed staring at the ceiling, I’m really gonna have to trust this guy if I wanna leave.
