I woke up in bed wrapped in Ryan’s arms, I smile laying there for a second, but it didn’t last long as my alarm for school went off. Ryan wakes up rubbing his eyes as I lean over turning the alarm off, but as I moved I felt something slip off my neck, I look down to see the necklace Ryan got me laying in the bed.
“It came off, I thought it couldn’t,” I say holding up the necklace, a bit sad that it quickly fell off, he smiles.
“It won’t until its done its job, now you’re marked it came off itself,” he says I look down at the necklace, that sucks I actually loved it, Ryan reaches over taking it from me “we’ll put it in the draw so it’s safe,” he says placing it in the draw beside him, that isn’t the same.
“Well I better get ready,” I say climbing out of bed and towards the wardrobe, ugh school is so annoying.
“Come on it’s not that bad,” Ryan says which makes me freeze turning to look at him, how the heck did he know what I was thinking?
“We can hear each other’s thoughts now your marked remember?” He asks, still laying in bed smiling.
“Well don’t stay in my head, I have thoughts I don’t want you hearing” I smile, walking fully into the wardrobe to get ready for school.
As I walk out Ryan was still laying in bed looking like he was asleep, lucky for some, I grab my bag hearing a laugh.
“I’m very lucky,” he says from the bed his eyes still closed, I shake my head walking towards the door to leave but a hand holds mine, as I turn he places a kiss on my lips.
I smile walking out the bedroom and towards the stairs where Justin jumps from the side making me nearly fall to the floor, he laughs but immediately stops spotting my neck.
“You’re marked,” he says which makes me realise I forgot to cover it, I grab my shirt and do the top button up so you couldn’t see it.
I start making my way downstairs Justin behind trying to talk to me, but stops when we got to the bottom where my parents where standing waiting for us, Jessie gives Justin a weird look knowing something was up but he didn’t speak.
“Please don’t get into any fights today,” my dad says passing me a bottle of water with a smile.
“I’ll try not to,” I say but I kept looking back at Justin hoping he didn’t say that I’m marked to these, cause I really don’t know how my parents would react “well we better get going we don’t wanna be late,” I say grabbing Justin by the arm walking him out and towards the car, but just before we reach it I pull him closer to me “don’t tell anyone about my mark,” I say looking him dead in the eye, before turning around smiling walking towards the car climbing in.
We didn’t speak the whole car ride, once we get out the car people were looking at me again, wow these people are really gonna try my patience.
“Don’t fight anyone” Ryan’s voice says in my mind, now I’m marked we can mind link each other, I smile and walk into school Justin trailing behind me, I guess he’s angry with me not that I cared that much.
Halfway through the school day, I was just walking around the school bored, Justin was ignoring me cause of the way I spoke to him but I didn’t really care that much, it’s not like I need him. He went off with some guys to play football so I was kind of alone but I didn’t mind, I walk over to one of the picnic tables pulling books out using this time to start some homework. I was deep into my work when someone sits down in front of me, I look up to see my friend Max smiling.
“Hello stranger” he smiles placing his arms on the table, he wasn’t wearing uniform but I didn’t think much about it, he wasn’t one for always following the rules.
“Hi Max, long time no see” I smile as he picks up some of my work reading through it, but gives me a look.
“Savannah’s doing homework,” he says acting shocked, I laugh looking down continuing to write.
“Yeah I’ve had to change a lot recently due to recent events” I sigh, he reaches over grabbing my hand making me look up at him again.
“You know I’m always here for you, that’s why I want to offer you a break from all your princess stuff,” he says which just makes me utterly confused, I can’t take a break I’m the princess now whether I like it or not “well when I need a break I have a place I always go for a while, I want to take you there but it can only be you and me no one else,” he says, well that’s gonna be impossible.
“What’s gonna be impossible?” Ryan’s voice asks in my mind, but I knew I couldn’t tell him cause he might get mad.
“Oh just a maths problem but I figured it out now, stop getting reading my thoughts,” I say jokingly before going back to my conversation with Max.
“I have guards around me at all times who inform my father my whereabouts, I’m never really alone anymore,” I say but he laughs looking around, probably looking out for the guards.
“Then you have to sneak out, it’s not like we haven’t snuck out together before, just as the bell goes for next lesson go to the bathroom, I’ll be waiting outside the window to take you, you look like you need a break so as your friend, I’m gonna give you one,” he says standing up a huge smile still on his face” see you in ten” he smiles walking away, before I could say anything about me getting a break just as the bell goes.
I pack my things up making my way into the school where Justin was standing near the door talking to some guys, he was trying to act tough in front of his new friends, I roll my eyes walking into the school. People in the hallway move out the way for me as I walk through, I hated this, at first it was cool but now it’s just annoying. The bathroom that Max was talking about came into my view, I kept contemplating whether to go in or not, at the last second I walk into the bathroom to see people in there, I act like I was fixing my hair in the mirror once they finally leave I run over to the window opening it wide. Max was standing there smiling at me.
“Come on, you have to leave your bag it won’t fit through the window,” he says I nod hiding my bag around the corner climbing on the window seal, I swing my legs over slipping through.
Max catches me helping me get down but as soon as I was on the ground he held my hand making us quickly walk away from the school building, we basically run over to the fence where he lets me climb over first following behind. He holds my hand walking me away again but we stop a bit down the road, where he takes off his hoodie telling to put it on, I do what I’m told while he puts the hood up for me before making us walk down to the little village, that was just down the road.
Right at the back of the village was a huge forest which he led me into, at this moment I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.
