Chapter Twenty-Nine

Book:Impossible Mates Published:2024-5-1

After getting home, Ryan went straight to our bedroom leaving my family and me, the whole ride home he didn’t speak to anyone, he didn’t even look at my parents at all. I mean I understand, his parents have just been dragged away in front of him because my parents locked them up, but they did kidnap me and kept me away from my parents for 15 years, so I understand where both sides are coming from, which makes me stuck in the middle.
“He’s gonna be alright he just needs time to calm down,” I say,  he makes his way up the stairs towards our bedroom, my father walks over placing his hand on my shoulder making me look up at him.
“You did well today with his parents,” he says smiling, I look to the floor smiling a little too, it wasn’t easy seeing them.
“It was hard but you guys are my parents, that’s all that matters” I smile but a thought came into my head “why did his parents even come?” I ask, my parents take a quick look at each other before looking back at me.
“Well we were shocked when we got the call from your school saying you got into a fight, Ryan told us that the only people that would be able to calm you down was his parents, so we knew what we needed to do” he says, I smile looking back up the stairs where Ryan walked up.
“Well I would have calmed down without them, I mean I have all of you guys now” I smile at all of them before I start making my way upstairs to check on Ryan, I don’t walk in straight away I put my head near the door to see if I could hear him.
When I couldn’t, I slowly open the door putting my head in first, he was sat on the bed staring at the wall. He didn’t even notice me until I sat next to him on the bed, but he still didn’t speak.  I placed my hand in his as he moves so his head is resting on my shoulder, both of us staring at the wall.
“They’ll probably never get out of prison,” he says? after a few more minutes of silence “every time I see them from now on, they’ll just be in a cell” he sadly says, still staring at the wall in front of us.
“No, they won’t because we won’t let them,” I say, but he chimes in quickly.
“Even with us fighting they probably will still be sent down, everyone else is against them,” he says lifting his head up slightly, but puts it back on my shoulder.
“It doesn’t matter who is against them, they still have us and that’s all they need, on the day of their trail their gonna see us sitting there supporting them,” I say, he moves his head a little again to look up at me.
“I don’t deserve you Savannah,” he says sweetly, while I smile looking ahead.
“Nah you probably don’t” I smile jokingly, making him laugh a little.
“I love you,” he says which makes me freeze, that’s the first time he’s said that since we found out we’re mates, for some reason it sounds so different to how it used to.
It made me start to think how far we’ve actually come as mates, I’ve been so focused on other things that I haven’t actually thought about us. When I first found out I was mated to Ryan, I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to fully accept it and I thought it would be weird, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I want to spend the rest of my life with him as his mate, which meant I had to do something.
“Mark me,” I say, which makes him quickly move to look at my face shocked.
“Did you just ask me to-” he asks,  but I cut him off before he could finish.
“Mark me, today has just made it even more clear of what I want in the future, and you’re in it,” I say, he sits up straight grabbing both of my hands in his
“Are you completely sure about this, cause once I do it there’s no going back, maybe take some time to think about it more I don’t want you to feel pressured to-” he says but once again I cut him off, but this time with a kiss, I pull away looking him in the eyes.
“I’m ready” I smile, as soon as those words left my mouth his lips were on mine.
That night he marked me.
