I ALMOST looked crazy with so much confusing. However, no matter how many times I created that wall. It wouldn’t change the fact that he can easily destroy me in just one snap.
I stayed for a few minutes before I decided to step on my feet to follow him.
I caught up with their happy story from the moment I entered the kitchen. Rexon standing across the table, while Lara sitting in front of him.
“You’re good at cooking, you used to only know how to cook fried eggs and hotdogs,” Rexon told her.
“Of course, I don’t want to be confined to a box. I want to learn something new.” Lara said, her voice was sweet and soft.
Rexon, burst out laughing and lightly shook his head as if in disbelief. Lara quickly stared at him before taking back the plate she was holding.
“Remember? The egg and hotdog you cooked before was even hotter?!” Lara twitching her brows at him.
“Hey, that was before.” Rexon said humbly and chuckled.
“I can teach you sometime,” Lara offered
“I’ll go check my schedule first,” Rexon said, confidently.
It’s like I want to pull my feet back, I don’t want to disturb the conversation they have. But I can’t do that just because of Rexon, so I took courage, I cleared my throat first then I came quietly into the kitchen, Lara immediately noticed my presence so she glanced at me a little.
“Cherry, please come here for a minute. I want to show you something.” Lara said, there was something in those brown eyes that was so beautiful, so sexy and allured.
Then suddenly Rexon instantly turned his head to me. He and I exchanged looks without a word.
I decided to step my feet closer to them. Rexon quickly pulled a seat for me. I couldn’t prepare for what he did so I quickly looked up. I could see a playful smile, over his face so I couldn’t help but shake.
I scoffed, “T-thanks.” I stuttered, God what is happening to me?
“You’re welcome!” he said in replies. He also quickly leaned over sitting next to me, and confidently leaning his back against the chair.
I was left speechless, I could smell his sweet scent spreading over me. I breathe real slow and sharply drop my gaze.
Lara quickly brought the plate with only lasagna to me. “C’mon try some,” Lara said.
I didn’t hesitate to taste it, I can honestly say, it was delicious to cook, even the cake I had eaten last time was great.
“How was it going?” Lara asked me with full of excitement.
“Good, it’s delicious!” I swiftly said.
She flashed a wide smile and turned her face to Rexon, “See? It’s delicious, maybe it’s just your tongue that’s the problem.” snorted Lara, as she narrowed her eyes at Rex.
“Seriously, your good, I’m so impressed!” Rexon declared, he barely glanced at me but I chose to look down.
“Huh, really?” Lara raised eyebrow at him.
Rexon chuckled, and lightly shook
his head.
“I’ll go make a lemonade juice for us!” She stood for us to turn away for a moment and head for some cabinets near the fridge. “Oh? I don’t have any more juice, wait, I’ll just go out to the mini store for a while to buy,” said Lara.
“I’ll go buy the juice.” Rexon offered, he immediately stood up in his chair, but I had to cut him off so I also quickly stood up to approach her.
“Let me buy the juice,” I stuttered. “This is my job, right?”
“Oh, all right, the mini-store isn’t far from here.” Lara nodding and handed me fifty pesos which I immediately took. As I turn my face to Rexon, I saw his face frowned with confusion.
I just ignored him because I went straight out of the kitchen to go outside. I would have quickly opened the gate with my hands when someone opened the gate for me.
“I’ll go with is it okay?” Rexon asked, his eyes told me that he was serious.
I didn’t choose to answer, even if I refused I wouldn’t be the one to follow so I started to step my feet out of the yard.
The first store we went to was closed so we continued walking. There comes a time when silence betrayal. No one wants to talk to. He let out a few sighs next to me so the nervousness reached my heart.
“Are you tired?” he asked, leaning his head to me.
“Nope, I’m fine,” I quickly said in replies, and timidly bowed my head.
Again he heave a deep sighed and glance at me. “Are you sure, you’re okay?” He was carving.
“Yeah, that shouldn’t bother you anyway. I can buy on my own, ” I said, Ignoring his repeated glance.
“It’s dangerous if you walk alone in the street without my company,” he instantly said in replies.
“Tss, that’s also what you said to Lara earlier,” I shook my head with
distress.
“She’s a different story.” Rexon said, under his breath.
I have to be transparent, so I laugh brightly. “Well of course, she barely different! You love her! That was the difference.”
“You know that’s not what I meant!” he said, his jaw clenched.
“No, Rex.” I said, shaking my head. I know, why does he have to pretend? Because I know he won’t look at me the same way he does with Lara.
I felt he restrain my arm so I quickly looked at him with questioning eyes.
“Yes, she’s different. But why do I have to feel these feelings towards you, huh?” he said, pointing his finger over his chest.
I remained calm but the truth is my heart pounding so fast. I need to hold my breath for awhile. My face turn redder than before.
But it doesn’t seem to have the strength to go on. “It doesn’t matter anyway,” he averted his gaze to me.
“It does to me.” I bravely said.
“Why does it matter to you?” he asked tonelessly.
My lips parted slightly, I couldn’t hear what I had to say so I had to lie.
“Because– I care. I’m already involved here and you must tell how long I should be in your life?!” I shouted with furious heart.
“Cherry…” Rexon utter my name with so much pain.
“I just want to be professional in every job I get into.” I told him instead, forcing a smile before turned my back on him.
And one thing I learned. This is not the battle for fighting. This love that coursing through my veins, is going to destroy me…
