He smile and pats his shoulder. “I’m not convinced. It wasn’t convincing at all.” he said. “By the way, I’ll do my report as an investigator of her case you begged for.” he stood-up; put on his bonnet and eyeglasses, he pulled-up his jacket to make it three-forts. He opens his bag pack and pull-out a pencil and bond paper. He draws a road, half of a building, a pedestrian lane. “Listen carefully because this is my whole report.” he said without looking at Rovi’s face. “This is the place where the crime scene happened.” he pointed the drawing on the paper. He drew three people. “This is Grace, the subject and the suspect.” he clears his throat. “Grace is about to cross the road when she saw the subject will also cross the road. They were using this pedestrian lane, Grace isn’t feeling well. Due to the statement of her first physician before, she forgot to take her medicine for her heart disease, that’s why she’s not feeling well.” he said then looked at Rovi who’s seriously looking at the paper. “Grace knew the subject because Grace is in love with the subject but the subject doesn’t feel her love.” he waits for Rovi to comment but when he looked at him all he can see is jealous look on his eyes. “Do I need to proceed?” he asked. He didn’t hear anything from Rovi instead he just saw a nod. “Okay, let us name the subject. The subject was called JL.” he stopped and looked at him. He saw a guilt written from Rovi’s eyes. “When the suspect is about to hit JL, Grace run to push him and…” he clapped on Rovi’s face that made Rovi stunned. “The suspect accidentally hit Grace instead of JL.” he continued as if he didn’t saw Rovi’s stunning face. “That’s the real story of what had happened. Well, I know, right? I’m also there, I saw everything what happened but this is the exciting part. After that incident, the suspect didn’t run after the hit, it looks like the suspect itself was shock but when the suspect gain senses, the suspect run.” he said like it’s a usual conversation. He looked at Rovi. “Do I have to proceed?” he asked once again.
He didn’t hear him, he just saw him nod once again. He cleared his throat once again. “When you called me that midnight, I started to investigate the morning and this was the statement of the witnesses I asked the day after the accident.” he says and pulls out his phone on the pocket on his jacket. He looked at Rovi but all he can see is a mix emotion on his face. “I can’t find where the voice records here so, I’ll just say it.” he said then he get another paper and draw a motorcycle with a person ridding it. “What do you think this rider is?” he asked.
“The rider has a slim body.” Rovi replied.
“That’s it. What do you think the rider’s gender?” he asked.
“Gender? If you’ll be looking at the way the rider rides the bike, it looks manly way but if you’ll focus on the body of the rider, you’ll clearly see it’s a woman.” Rovi answers.
“You have good eyes, uh…” he commented.
“You really know how to draw, you have the talent!” Rovi praised.
He chuckled. “No, I just want to emphasize and put an emphasis on this project you begged for.” he said with a teasing tone.
He saw Rovi smiled at him. “If you remember what I’ve said earlier, the suspect is aiming for the subject called JL not on Grace.”
“So, that means it’s intentional?” Rovi said without assurance.
“You’re not sure, uh… But the truth is, yes, it’s intentional. The reason? I haven’t yet know.” he said. He gets another paper and draw. “What is this?” he asked.
“Are you fooling me? A bracelet.” he said with an irritable tone.
“No, I’m not fooling you.” He get his bag pack and pull a plastic with an object in it. “Are these look alike?” he asked.
“Yes. This one you drew and that one inside the plastic.” he replied. “But, how?…”
He smiled. “That’s because I’m one of the witnesses so I have this. I saw this bracelet fell from the suspect when she escaped.” he said. He gets the second drawing and pulls out a colour pencil and drew someone on the hand of the suspect.
“What is that?” Rovi asked.
He smiled. “Looked at it carefully.” he said. “You can’t guess?” he asked. He saw him nod. He sighed. “It’s a birth mark.” he said. “Well, I saw this but to verify it, I asked someone who’s at the crime scene that time so… I can say it’s not just what I saw.” he said then he colour the shoes of the suspect.
“Wow! You look like you were out of this world when you’re reporting. I bet even on your investigation so, you doesn’t have any time to sleep properly.” he said.
He smiled. “Well, I can’t lie about that. When I started doing it, I can’t help but to focus more until I haven’t noticed the time.” he said.
He laughed. “You really like the career you have, uh… I must admit I under estimate you.”
“What?!”
He laughed. “I’m just kidding.” he said between his laughter.
He smiled. “That’s really you. Are you still jealous about the real story behind the reason why Grace is lying down on that hospital bed?” he asked.
He sighed. “Yeah, she saved him.” he whisper.
“Yeah, I know. Me, myself was also shocked after the incident but I knew what I saw that moment. The most things that made me stunned when I saw her apparition standing in front of that guy and screaming ‘I’m here’.”
“You mean to say, you can see her too?” he asked.
“Yeah. Remember what’ve I confessed earlier?”
“Oh, yeah… So, you can see her, too…” he said.
“Yeah, I can hold her too. That surprise hugged was just experiment if I can touch her.” he explained.
“So, your curiosity killed you that day?” he asked.
“Maybe.” he replied then laughed.
“If you can see and hold her that means you can talk to her too.”
“Yeah, who do you think am I?” he asked.
“A frustrated writer, artists, painter and an architect student, a secret detective, a part-timer lawyer professor at a university but the real line career isn’t far from investigations.” he described.
He chuckled. “What a descriptions… but I’m asking you, who do you think am I?”
He chuckled. “You’re a boastful and full of yourself Prosecutor Hael Leal. Happy?”
He tapped Rovi’s shoulder then laughed.
