After JL went home, he already knew what he could hear from his parents but he didn’t mind. He locked up himself on his room not because of what his parents told him but because of Grace.
“Sorry, I haven’t answered your call earlier. What is it?” he asked Mjay.
“My sister wasn’t waking up yet. Her doctor said that if she didn’t woke-up for within twenty-four hours, she’s in a coma once again.” she replied.
He was stunned. His knees shake and his hands shiver but he doesn’t have any choice. He needs to stay at home to look for his siblings. He came to his senses when he felt someone is poking his chin. He smiled when he saw his little sister, PC.
“She’s looking for you, we knocked plenty times but you didn’t say anything. She opened the door so, don’t look at me like that, I’m innocent.” JC said.
“Fine, just get out of here and leave us alone.” he said then hugged PC. He knew that it wasn’t JC’s fault but he can’t avoid the feeling of being annoyed whenever he see his brother. He saw him with a sad eyes, he didn’t mean to let his frustration out on his brother, he felt hopeless and helpless.
“Sorry, I left you yesterday but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to look after all of you. It’s just I had an emergency to attend because my friend is at the hospital because of me. I haven’t yet told Dad and Mom so they don’t understand yet.” he murmured. He was stunned when he felt the little hand of his little sister, Princess Chrisel wiping his face. He hugged her until he felt he’s alright. He wiped his tears then smiled at her. “Don’t tell anyone that big brother cried, okay?”
He was cooking at the kitchen when JC went inside to get water inside the refrigerator.
“JC—”
“They were watching at my room. I’ll just get some water for them.” JC said without looking at him.
He sighed. “No, that’s not it. I’m sorry about happened earlier. I didn’t mean to pass my frustration upon you.” he said sincerely.
He was amazed when his brother looked at him with a smile on his face. “We’re okay, now?”
At his amusement, he didn’t have the chance to answer his brother but just a nod.
He saw his brother’s smile widened. “Really?”
He smiled at him. “Yeah, now, I’m done cooking our meal for dinner so, call them because we’re going to eat now.”
He saw his brother run out at the kitchen. He smiled due to what he saw. While he was preparing the table, he suddenly stopped and slowly looked at the kitchen door. His eyes begun to open wide when he saw a figure and he swallowed his own saliva, his body is trembling, his knees and hands were shaking.
“Hey! You look pale as if you saw a ghost.” JC said with a smirked on his lips.
His senses went back, he saw his siblings looking at him with curious look then he laughed. “Nothing, don’t worry about me. Come, let’s eat. PC, come here sit down beside me.” he said then peek at the door. He secretly smiled when he didn’t see what he saw looking at him near the kitchen’s door.
While he was washing the plates, he heard someone calling his name. He slowly turns his head from where the voice is coming. He was surprised when he saw Grace beside him. He can’t move and it seems that he forgot to breathe for a moment.
“I need your help.” she said. “Don’t be frightened.” she added then shehold his right hand.
He can’t help but to close and open his eyes just to confirm if it’s hallucination but it wasn’t an imagination. He calm himself and casually turn his head back to what he was doing although he wasn’t on himself yet he knew already what he will do. The next morning, his parents went home. He decided to tell them what happened about the incident one week and two days ago, that’s why he ask their permission to look at her not until she woke-up but until she completely recover. He didn’t expect his parents to agree on what he ask and they also gave some help for the hospitalization and other needs of Grace. While he was packing some of his clothes, he felt a heavy thing on the other side of his bed. He turned his head to look at it and there he saw Grace. He was stocked on where he was sitting with wide eyes open.
“I’m not yet a ghost, I think this soul of mine is just wondering for some reason so please don’t be afraid.” she said him. “I need your help to solve what had happened.” she added.
“Why not let the authorities do their jobs?” he asked.
“I can’t wait for them to catch that person. I won’t let the justice came unto my hand, I just want to discover and I just want to know who’s behind that incident. You’re the only one I could ask for help because Doctor Jimenez would do something else for me.” she explained.
“What do you want me to do?” he asked.
“I need you to ask those who were there before the accident.” she replied.
He was stunned. How will he know who were those people around that moment when he also doesn’t even recognized those who were around him after the incident. “How?” he curiously asked. She smiled at him sweetly. And that smile, she saw every doubt and nervousness fade off. His fear fades away after that smile and he felt everything was right.
“I would do everything to help you. Let me finish packing some of my clothes first so, I could let my parents know that I’ll be leaving.” he said with smile on his lips.
“I’ll just remind you that you can just communicate with me using your eyes. I don’t want you to take any attention just because of me.” she said.
He look at her with a smile on his lips again. Honestly, he doesn’t know why does he feel so happy, all he knew is he could able to help her now.
“No way! I don’t want to do that! I’m not that insane to re-enact that incident!” he complaint.
“Then, ask those people I will point to you.” she said with smile on her lips.
