He made a deep sigh. He doesn’t know if that smile is sarcastic. All he knew is he needs to meet all of the people who witness the incident within two weeks or else nothing will ever proceed and it’ll be too late for him due to he had an obligation to go home after two weeks to look at his siblings and the house once again. He was about to get out of the room he occupies when he saw her got out of her balance. He can’t act the usual reaction of a normal person who saw a girl who just got out of her balance or else he will get too much attention inside the house of his uncle.
He glanced at her. Waiting for her to get up but it seems she can’t get up on her own but he can’t do anything to help her.
She looked at him with a smile and that stunned him. “I’m alright, don’t worry.” she said with assurance on her voice but he was still uneasy.
While he was waiting outside the school, Grace suddenly point a girl wearing a uniform. He had no choice but to step forward and face the girl. “Hi!” he greets. “Can I talk to you for a while? I’ll just ask you about the incident happened one week and days ago.” he said.
“How did you know that I saw that incident?” she asked.
“I’m the one who’s going to be hit that time but suddenly a girl pushed me and save me. So, please… I need your cooperation, Miss.” he begged.
“I don’t want to go at the police station just to state what I saw. I can’t help you.” she replied.
“Miss, I don’t require you to come with me just to go at the police station. Just tell me what you saw.” he said with a serious face.
The girl pulled him and went into a near fast food chain. He had the hope that she’ll say what she saw that day.
“Okay, can you start now?” he asked after the girl ordered too much meal at the counter.
“Oh! Yeah, well I saw her running. She accidentally bumped me that day so I won’t really forget it. That was the first time I saw in my own eyes in real life a hit and run. At first, I thought it was just a frank or something but I confirmed that it wasn’t.” she said then bite the burger she ordered.
“Did you see the face of the driver of the motorcycle?” he asked.
“No, but I noticed one thing.” she said between chewing her meal.
“What?” he asked.
“The driver of the motorcycle isn’t a man, I noticed that the driver is a girl.” she said.
“What else?” he asked.
“Nothing else, that’s all I could tell you, that’s why I told you, I don’t want to go with the police station because my statement won’t help a lot.” she said without looking at him.
“No, you help me a lot. Thank you.” he said then stood up and went out. He doesn’t want to be in a hurry but he saw Grace run away and he followed her until she stopped and point another person.
“He was at the jeepney; you have to get into that jeep. You have to hurry or else our chance would fade.” she said.
He was catching his breath while chasing the jeepney where the person Grace’s point at. He finally inside the jeepney, Grace point at the man sitting at the passenger seat. He doesn’t know where he’s destination is but he have to pay the ride. When the man loads off unto the jeepney, he also has to go.
“Excuse me.” he said after a long walked.
“What do you want?” he asks him with a frightening look.
“I just want to ask you about the accident happened near a school, one week and two days ago.” he said with a smile in his lips awkwardly.
He saw his reaction he was shocked. He saw him sigh. “Oh, I see… So, you followed me here just to ask me about that incident. You know what, I don’t have any time for you.” he said then left him.
“The girl who was hit was in a coma, right now. I just want to rather some information.” he said due to desperation.
“You can’t change the fact that she’s in a coma in just few information I know.” he replied bitterly.
“At least, I tried to. Just tell me what you knew then I’ll leave.” he said.
“Fine, then.” he said with a smirked. “I just saw that the driver is a girl, that it was you whom she intentionally wants to hit but unfortunately, that girl whom you say is in a coma right now saved you, that’s all I know so kindly leave me alone.” he said.
“Thank you about that information but…” he said then looked around.
“What?!” he yelled at.
“Honestly, what’s your problem?” he wants to ask. “Which way should I go?” he asked instead of being sarcastic.
He saw him smirked once again. “Honestly, I don’t know. This is because of you. If you just said earlier, then I won’t be in this kind of situation. This place is unfamiliar unto me, too. I can’t answer that question.” he said while looking side by side around the place.
He looks at his side to look at Grace but he didn’t saw her, instead she was walking behind him. He just followed her because he can’t ask her where she was going.
