“Do you really know what it is?”
“Yes!” Selina said. “The patient would have a rash that looks like urticaria, but that’s only what it looks like. Actually it is not urticaria.”
“That’s right!” The doctor nodded, “Master Gordon, I think this young lady probably knows what to do. Why not let her try?”
Chester stared at Selina in surprise. After a while, he nodded and said, “Try it.”
Selina hurried into the room, trying to recall how she had treated Manfred last time.
“Please fetch some warm water and a soft towel.”
The servants all looked at the butler, not sure if they should follow her instructions.
After the butler nodded in agreement, they hurried to fetch some water and a towel as required.
Selina half-squatted by the bed and held Manfred’s hand. “Manfred, can you hear me?”
Manfred seemed to have fainted, remaining unconscious.
Selina had no choice but to hold his arms and gave him a gentle massage. The doctor hurriedly warned, “Miss Jones, be careful. You might be infected.”
However, Selina ignored his warning and continued to massage his arms carefully.
Since Manfred seemed to be sicker than he had been before, Selina was distraught. Fortunately, the servant brought warm water over soon, which was a comfort to her. Selina wrung out the hot towel and wiped Manfred’s cheeks carefully.
Just as she was about to wipe his body, she looked at the people around and stopped.
“I’m sorry. Please stay outside for a second.”
Jayden got displeased. “We are Manfred’s families. Who are you to ask us to leave? What if you hurt Manfred?”
“Alright!” Chester suddenly said and winked at the doctor. “Please give her a hand, Doctor. We’ll wait outside!”
“Chester!” Jayden was very reluctant to leave, but he couldn’t go against Chester.
After they left, Selina carefully unbuttoned Manfred. The doctor was shocked to see the rash all over his body.
“It looks bad!”
“Please hold him still!” Selina said.
The doctor recovered from shock and looked at Selina with respect. “Miss Jones, aren’t you afraid?”
Selina shook her head and twisted the towel again to wipe Manfred’s body. Afterwards, she held Manfred’s hand and whispered, “Manfred…”
He moved his fingers slightly in response. Selina was surprised, “Are you awake?”
The doctor was also excited, “Mr. Gordon, how do you feel?”
Manfred didn’t say anything. Selina asked, “Does it itch again?” Then, she asked the servant to bring some ice cubes for relieving itching and massaged his body carefully.
From beginning to end, the doctors stared at her in shock. And he saw the rash on Manfred’s body gradually disappear as Selina kept massaging his body.
In astonishment, he opened the door and walked out.
“How’s it going?” Chester asked anxiously.
“This is amazing!” The doctor said, “I’ve never seen this before. It’s a miracle! Thanks to Miss Jones, the rash on Mr. Manfred’s body has completely disappeared.”
Jayden said with a gloomy face. “Maybe it was just a common rash!”
“Impossible!” The doctor was very angry. “Mr. Jayden, you are doubting my authority as a doctor. It’s an insult!”
Jayden could only shut up. Doctor Jackson was an outstanding doctor who had even earned Chester’s respect. So Jayden didn’t dare to offend him.
Chester frowned, “What caused it?”
The doctor said with wrinkles in his brows, “In my experience, this disease is very strange. I wouldn’t rule out psychological causes. It takes time to find out the right answer. Mr. Manfred is awake now. You can talk to him.”
Bonnie trembled as she heard Doctor Jackson’s words. Then, she quickly lowered her head and walked out.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Manfred shouted, “Catch her!”
Bonnie’s first instinct was to run away. However, the servants had already surrounded her.
Bonnie had no choice but to ask Jayden for help, “Mom! Dad! Help me!”
Jayden was puzzled, “What’s wrong?”
Manfred snorted coldly, “Ask her.”
“Tell me what’s going on!” Chester said seriously.
“I didn’t do anything. I saw Manfred in the study. Then I poured him a cup of tea. Suddenly he pushed me away, and then he fainted.”
This was ridiculous!
Chester couldn’t believe it at all.
“If you don’t level with me, you won’t get another chance when we check the surveillance video!”
Bonnie’s face turned pale. “I…” She turned to Carl, Jayden and Evelyn. “Carl, Mom, Dad, trust me!”
Jayden and Evelyn had already realized what was going on, so they didn’t plead for Bonnie. Carl wanted to plead for her, but was stopped by Evelyn.
In desperation, Bonnie had no choice but to tell the truth.
“I didn’t do anything. I just accidentally touched his hand when I handed him the cup.”
“Looks like you’re really not going to tell the truth!” Chester shouted.
“Fine. I’ll tell the truth. I … hugged him…. But, how could it be possible that it was caused by a hug? Selina stays with Manfred every day. She must have done something bad to him!”
Selina was also shocked. She had unintentionally cured Manfred before. She thought it was just a coincidence, but it happened again.
According to Bonnie, Manfred had a rash just because she touched him.
But why was Manfred safe and sound even though she stayed very close to Manfred every day before?
Confused though, Chester was clever enough to know that Bonnie didn’t lie. However, everyone saw Selina touch and wipe Manfred’s arms herself. It didn’t make things worse. Instead, Manfred pulled through.
“What the hell is this? Manfred, Doctor Jackson, come to the study room!”
Before leaving, Manfred held Selina’s hand and said, “I’ll be back soon.”
That annoyed Bonnie. “Selina, you wicked woman! What did you do?”
Selina frowned, “I should ask you the same question. What did you do?”
When Chester was present, everyone behaved discreetly. After Chester left, they stared at Bonnie with different attitude.
Although Bonnie wasn’t born to Jayden, she was Manfred’s family in name. How dare she seduce Manfred at home?
She even put Manfred in danger. How could she blame Selina?
Bonnie could feel others’ disdain. She was so mad that she threw herself at Selina.
