Mira
It has been two weeks that I have been trapped inside this prison without food or water. Though Susan does sneak in to bring me food, I don’t know what I could have done without her. She seemed kind and cool. I know that my death is drawing closer every damn second but my fear is the child in my belle, I might accept the death punishment but I don’t think that I can be able to watch them kill the two of us, I have tried and think of any possible way to escape but all my attempts was in vain.
Sitting with my head resting on the wall, I heard a footstep but ignored it. I am not expecting anyone today and besides Susan told me that she won’t be visiting today. She had some work to do at the pack house.
“Mira, baby…..” I know the owner of the voice but there is no way that Virginia should come here to visit me and talk more or call me by a sweet name. Not after it was rumored that I killed her husband, the father of her sons.
“Mira, look at me….” I continued ignoring the voice, I knew that I was enunciating.
“Mira, come on….. I need to tell you something,” she desperately muttered. Enough of these imaginations! Snapping my head towards the cell rails, I looked stunned. It wasn’t my imagination after all.
“Luna…..” I shockingly muttered as I immediately cast my head in submissiveness.
“Cut those formalities….” She grumbled, “Come here…..” She instructed.
“Come on, Mira, there is no time for all this drama,” she uttered as I sat there looking at her like she grew a horn overnight. Snapping back to reality, I slowly moved toward her with careful steps.
“I am sorry that you are in here,” I gaped at her.
“I am sorry that I haven’t visited you but pardon me I have been occupied lately with my husband’s burial….”
“I didn’t kill Alpha Den,” tears welled up in my eyes.
“I know and that’s why I have come to see you,” she replied.
“You don’t, you hate me now because of what I didn’t do…… I was accused, please believe me,” I cried out.
Looking sideways, she quickly held my hands, “Look Mira, I know that you are innocent but I was angry that you allowed yourself to get played. …… I was angry and disappointed that you allowed the enemies to get to you,”
“What are you talking about?” I shuddered.
“I am just disappointed, nothing much,” I suspiciously stared at her. How can she all of a sudden be saying all these things when I saw the hatred in her two eyes that day, was she trying to get me into another trouble?
“Why are you?” With seriousness I muttered, taking her by surprise.
“Mira…..”
“Answer my question?” I drawled.
“I just came to check up on you,” she mumbled with a tender voice. I have heard that word before but from who exactly and that’s when it dawned on me**Jessy** letting out a bitter laugh I glared at her when squatting her hands off me.
“I am rumored to have killed your husband and you came here to check up on the same person, TELL ME HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT, HUH!” I snapped.
“Mira, please for the sake of the baby….” I staggered back by her words.
Comporting myself I muttered with a serious tone “Which baby…..?”
“Come on, I know that you are pregnant, the doctor Maramark told me…..” She uttered.
I will kill that idiot of a doctor if I ever see him, this was supposed to be a secret but it slipped out of his loose mouth. Now not only was it in danger but my little jewel too.
“Don’t be afraid, it is a secret I understand,” she says.
“How am I to believe you?” A sad smile curled up my lips.
“If I want you dead I couldn’t be sending Susan here to bring you food…..”
“You…. send…. who?” I stammered.
“Susan,” she mumbled.
“Why should you send her? You now hate me right?” I blurted out.
“Just stop that, dear….” She wiggled it off with her hands, looking sideways she leaned closer and whispered only to my hearing, “Get ready for tonight you are leaving this place….”
“Ho….. w……I…..” I didn’t get to finish before she walked out without throwing me a glance.
Staying inside the dark penitentiary all alone as what Virginia said still pounds on my head and sounds flesh to me, I wonder if she truly wants to help me. This is surreal to be true, how can you want to save the person that was supposed to be your number one enemy? The one that every finger was pointing to as the culprit and this is why her sudden presence in this prison scares me though part of me wailed to follow her instruction and get the hell out of here. Still, in my thoughts, I noticed sneaky and quiet footsteps approaching where I was trapped. My heart felt heavy as it throbs fast and quickly, have they finally come to kill me? But my death will be four days from now on and besides, the siblings make sure that my head will be used for their father’s burial.
“Who…. who is there?” Calming my racing heart, I confidently muttered.
“Shhh……” the person hummed.
“Come on, who are you……?”  I staggered as the door that led to where I was trapped was pulled open, in as much as I was tempted to leave I still maintained my ground not to move as everywhere was dark and the person that pulled my door open was hiding under the dark. After hours of staying mute and removable, I heard that voice that I have longed to see or heard for a long time now.
“Mira…..” I still as the person mumbled my name.
“Angel…..” I surprisingly mumbled.
“Yes, I am here with you,” she replied.
“But you can come inside instead of hooking around the dark,” I complained. I needed to be sure that it was truly my Angel and not a trap. She slowly moved into the place where I was standing as the moonlight reflected on her face, it was as if the moon goddess was waiting for her to come inside.
“Angel……” I throw her into a cute friendly hug.
“We need to go there is no time,” breaking herself from the hug, she muttered.
“But what happened! How did you come here or knew that I was here?” I confusingly uttered?
“Look we have no time for that though I promise you to explain everything but not now…… we need to leave before any of the warriors wake up,” finishing her words, she draws me out of the penitentiary.
“Susan is waiting for us outside,” she quietly muttered.
“Susan!…..” I exclaimed tenderly.
“Nengi wasn’t here, she was knowingly summoned by Luna so that we could easily escape……..” Her words still baffle me because I wonder about the time that she was able to know all these things.
“Shhh…….” She urged me as we slowly entered Nengi’s room and ran out of the pack through the secret package. We met Susan at the other end of the road, seeing me immediately she bowed her head in greeting.
“Good evening, Miss,” she greeted.
“Come on, there is no time for that, we need to leave!” I surged us to move faster than our legs could carry us. After hours of running through quiet, scary, and dirt roads we arrived at a dilapidated house. Disgustedly starting at the house, Angel motioned for us to enter inside.
“Wow!…..” I expressed with surprise as the interior of the house looked lavishing and inviting. Turning around I noticed Angel smiling with Susan having the same impression as mine.
“Awwww looks amazing,” she uttered.
“The exterior was designed like that to avoid attracting unnecessary attention…. ” Angel muttered.
“This is where you will be staying for now till the storm calms down, we were supposed to take you to the human world but there is no time for that because that journey takes days to accomplish,” She announced.
“Can you tell me what happened to you? You were supposed to be lying in the hospital as the doctors seemed not to know when you might wake up,” I said.
“You see they weren’t God and I woke up for weeks, coming to search for you only to get this new……. So five of us planned with Luna for your escape which was successful as no one knew about this hideout,” she explained. I still appreciate Susan’s brave movement, she determinedly left Nengi and follow me
“Five…..” I mumbled.
“Yes, five…… I, Luna, Susan, and your….. She paused as she stared at me.
” And my what…..?” I impatiently questioned.
“Your sisters, Alpha Khloe and Vivian….” She professed, I was stunned to hear that from her still zipping out of my thoughts I noticed the door open as my sisters walked in. Vivian was all smiley but what surprised me and had me at the edge was to see my sister Khloe all smiley and happy, Vivian’s belly popping out showing that she was pregnant. Standing still they embraced me in a sisterly hug as we all broke down in tears, it has been a long that we last saw each other, and I seriously miss them so much.
