Third person’s Pov:
Derrick stares at her, several emotions flicker in her eyes but he couldn’t read any of them he knew that she doesn’t feel happy, she looks sad like she was not happy about them being mates which hurt him but before he could open his mouth she turned around and took to her heels.
Derrick didn’t know what he did wrong, losing his mate on the first day that they were seeing each other wasn’t his plan. He knows that he looks nice and not scary so he didn’t know what will chase her away or make her not accept him but he tried running after her before he was interrupted by a familiar voice, he wanted to lash out at whoever it was but turning around he noticed that it was his brother.
“Hey bro…..” greets Nicholas.
“Yeah….. Ummm,” Derrick forced a smile, though he wanted to meet his brother but not now. This was the guy he was waiting for over some minutes now, this was the guy he was standing waiting to see but now though he was happy to see him he wants to be with his mate more. He wants the strange girl more, his wolf Ethan wails for their mate.
“Why do you look … . tense,” asked a concerned Nicholas.
Derrick rubs his scalp in nervousness “Umm….. Nothing,” he murmured.
“And you do that every time you are nervous,” Nicholas said as he narrowed his eyes on him.
“I do what…..”
“This….” Nicholas said as he pointed to his scalp.
“You rub your scalp every time that you are nervous,” he continued.
“Wow! You have found a lot but you know I never pictured you as a person that can waste his time studying someone,” Derrick sarcastically mumbled.
“Moron, you forgot that we are twins and have a lot in common though you were right I can’t waste my time on something like that,” he finishes the last part with a smirk.
“So why are you nervous….. Do you commit anything,” he smirked.
“I think you should ask yourself that….. Me and you who do commit something,” with a smirk plastered on his lips he asked Nicholas.
“Whatever…..” Nicholas said with a hardened expression.
“You haven’t changed at all, still the same,” Derrick tried changing the topic since he found out Nicholas wasn’t ready to drop the topic.
“You are trying to change the topic…. Umm, I see,” he uttered as he nodded his head.
“You are not going to ask me how my journey was,” Derrick whined.
“Is none of my business…” Nicholas let out.
“What!!…” exclaimed a confused and surprised Derrick.
“Umm…. I mean since you are here, am damn sure your journey was a smooth one,” he tried covering up.
Derrick smiled bitterly, “Yeah…. nice one indeed,”
“Yeah … . nice one,” Nicholas said uncomfortably, looking everywhere aside from Derrick.
Though Derrick and Nicholas are twins they are different in every aspect, Derrick always wants what’s right but Nicholas doesn’t care about anything all he wants is his freedom and that’s what frightens Alpha Den to the bone. He is scared that Nicholas can’t handle his pack very well and that’s why he has taken it upon himself to find a wife for him because if Nicholas was given a chance to choose he did choose a whore and not a responsible person. Alpha Den thinks that his decision was the best for his son by allowing Mira into his son’s life, a strong and fierce woman.
Mira ran inside her room and locked the door, placing her back at the closed door with her heart throbbing hard against her chest. She placed her hand over her chest to calm herself down.
“How could the moon goddess be this funny….”
“Mating me to someone that resembles Nicholas,” so many questions kept bobbling into her head.
“He is not Nicholas but his brother, ” Heaven whispered.
“His brother!!!…..” exclaimed Mira surprisingly.
“Yes…” mumbled Heaven.
“But wait….. How did you know,” she asked confusedly.
“His wolf Ethan told me,” she shyly murmured.
“What!!!…..” You have already connected with his wolf.
“Haha…. what a naughty wolf you are,” Mira playfully said with a disgusted look.
“Whatever…. It is not my fault that he was so charming and intoxicating,” Heaven dreamily blushed.
Mira hissed “Whatever but just know that we are rejecting him asap,”
“No!!…. Never, he seems nice,” Heaven insists.
“How do you know that he is nice, I am damn sure he was just confusing you,” Mira yelled angrily.
“But he seems nice,” Heaven mumbled with a puppy dog eye.
“Hey, don’t give me that look,” angry Mira glared at her.
“But You are shouting…..” Heaven whined.
Mira signs as she tries to calm herself when pacing around the room like she did lose it ” Hey, look I never met to shout at you it is just that…..” She didn’t get to finish before Heaven interrupted her
“But you just did…”
“Yea…and that’s because you kept taking his side,” Mira tried sounding calm though there was a seriousness in her tone.
“But he is nice…” Heaven whispered.
“Heaven!!…. you just stop it,” she half yelled.
“The thing is that we can’t be mated to Nicholas’s brother, that doesn’t make sense,” Mira tried reasoning with Heaven. She needed her to see her points that this won’t work.
“But you kept calling him your Derry when you haven’t even met him then what happened now?” Heaven teased Mira.
“The thing is….. He is my Derry oh! No, I mean….. Gosh, what the fuck,” she kept stammering as Heaven smirks at her.
“Ouch…..” She groans in anger.
“You can’t deny it….. You tried acting strong but you crave him,” Heaven taunts her.
“Look you need to understand one thing that the moon goddess made a mistake, wait!!…. What does she take us for, an entertaining creature?” Mira latched out before creasing her forehead in anger.
“The moon goddess never makes mistakes,” Heaven mumbled.
“You guys are mated for some reason….”
“Is this not exactly what Nicholas said the previous time that got us angry about the moon goddess making a mistake….”Heaven points out.
“Whatever….” Mira hissed.
“And I am sure it was for the best,” Heaven resumed.
“What stupid best, eh? Being mated to my husband and mate’s brother…. Is that what you called best?!” she latched out at Heaven.
“You don’t shout at me for I am not the one that mated us two together but the moon goddess,” Heaven responded with the same energy that she uses on her.
“Then you stop siding with him or his wolf,” said Mira as she stretched her head in anger.
“I side with who I want….” replied Heaven.
“That’s it….. Have you ever considered what this will result in?” Mira furiously asked Heaven.
“I know it won’t be good but Nicholas doesn’t want us but our Derry does,” uttered angry Heaven.
“How do you know that he wants us, he was just deceiving you and I am disappointed you fell for that cheap lie,” Mira snapped, almost raising her voice.
“And I am happy for falling for that lie,” Heaven hummed, taking Mira by surprise.
They kept on arguing, once Mira found out that Heaven wasn’t ready to back down as she wanted their mate. She knew that Heaven was still hurting from Nicholas not wanting them the same applies to her, she is still in pain but being mated to Nicholas’s brother wasn’t what she was expecting. They needed to escape from this misery but having another person in the picture, especially Nicholas’s brother wasn’t a good one but Heaven wasn’t having any of those.
“Heaven you need to understand……” she breathes in to calm herself.
“I am mated to Nicholas……
“Then reject him and accept Derrick,” Heaven instantly suggested.
“It doesn’t work that way dear, in as much as I wanted to reject Nicholas but I am married to him….. Even if I reject him tomorrow I am still his wife and Luna and that’s the problem,” Mira whispered calmly.
Heaven kept silent for a few minutes before saying “But I want a mate…..”
“Same here but we need to escape this misery and I can’t do that without your help…….” She puffed out a tiring breath.
“If we succeeded in escaping what will now happen….. How do we find another mate?” said a pained-looking Heaven.
“I’m sure that moon goddess will bless us with another mate,” Mira tried explaining to her.
“So what’s the plan?” Heaven asked.
“Yes…. That’s the spirit baby girl,” Mira screamed in joy.
“You know I can’t do that with you too,” Heaven said sadly.
Mira smirked as she uttered the word “First we need to reject both of them,”
“Yeah…. But definitely, not Derrick,” Heaven disapproves.
“What the fuck!!….” Mira uttered surprisely
“We can escape without rejecting him,” Heaven said.
“Are you alright at all……?” asked a confused-looking Mira.
“Nope, I need a mate, and mate seems nice,” Heaven insists.
“Heaven!!!!…..” Mira screams with annoyance and anger.
