Derrick’s Pov:
Hearing that my brother was getting married surprised me, Nicholas isn’t the type that fancy marriage talks more of settling down with a woman. He was a free-spirited person that only wanted his freedom though we were twins, we were different in many aspects. I am a calm guy but extremely bad when dared, not that I am boasting but I am more handsome than Nicholas.
He came out of our mother’s womb first so the possibility of him being the Alpha is 100% though our father wanted us both to rule, I don’t feel a bit interested in the position.
I don’t need anything that can jeopardize the relationship I have with my brother, he is my only sibling, not only my sibling but my twin brother. I noticed that he is interested in the position and that’s why I am doing anything possible to give way to him, my father isn’t having that. He sees that I am the one who spoils my brother and that I do allow him to do anything that he wants even if it means he is hurting my feelings in the process. I know that my parents are very fond of me, especially my mother. I am collective and wish to settle down with my mate, the one that the moon goddess has honored me with.
“I still wonder about the woman that ends up with my brother, I need to see the girl that tames the devil down….”
I am done with rogues, so that means that it is time for me to return home. I need to make it up to my brother, I promised him to be there during his wedding but I wasn’t able to keep my promise due to certain things. I know he won’t be happy about my absence during his wedding, his main day, the day he was getting married. “Who is going to be happy if his loved ones, especially his twin, couldn’t make it to his wedding…..?”
“I won’t be happy though….” I mumble.
Packing my bag the next day, I felt a calm sensation overwhelm me. I will be returning home today, I have been away from home for six f*****g months now. My mom will be all over the moon when she gets a glimpse of me, I was just imagining the way my father’s face will be like.
“Hahaha…..” I laughed as I recalled my father’s face whenever he was happy.
“I have missed them so much, especially my paddy Nicholas. My twin brother, the guy I can’t trade for anything in this world….” I smiled as I walked out of my tent towards the truck outside our residence. We all packed our stuff inside the truck and sped off.
Arriving almost at our pack, I noticed the cars lining up. One of my men came out of our truck and walked toward the car, after communicating with one of the drivers he mindlink me.
“Alpha, they said that they were here to drive you back home,” he said.
“Who did they say that sent them…?” I asked with a serious tone.
“They said that Alpha Den sent them….”
“Ok……” I replied.
“But wait!!….. Alpha we couldn’t trust them, they might be lying,” he said as he narrowed his eyes at them.
“Hahaha…..” I angrily laughed.
“I know almost all of them and besides, how long do I have to train you….. How can you not know who is lying and who is saying the trust,” I angrily snarled at him through the mind linking before opening the truck.
The warriors in the SVC ran out of the car and bowed their heads submissively together with the other warriors.
“Welcome back, Alpha Derrick,” they all said in unison. They opened the back and I entered inside before they sped off to our pack house.
Once we arrived at the pack entrance gate, I glanced at those dark black giant gates. I have missed a lot, the gates were pulled open by some pack warriors and they all bowed down their heads submissively and our car drove past them. My father and mom are doing a great job because the whole pack looks neat and the air smells fresh. I smiled inwardly as I stared at the pack’s surroundings, the grasses are well cut as every damn place sparks.
“They truly deserved an accolade….” I mumbled within.
Our car hastened in front of the pack house, the front door of the car opened as the driver came down and opened my side door. Getting down from the car, and closing my eyes. I took in a sharp breath as I smiled widely, “This is home…..” I mumble with a dazzling smile on my face.
“Sir, Derrick……”
“Umm…..” I said as I turned around to know who was calling me.
“This way, please…..” the guard motioned for me to follow him, I complied immediately as he led the way. Everything still looks the same, just that little things have changed, just like what I imagined. My wolf has been restless since I set my foot here, nope since I decided to come back this morning. My wolf hasn’t been the same since this morning, which I kind of find strange though I feel a peaceful sensation overwhelming me. I suddenly feel comfortable and peaceful within, it looks like my heart was calling me somewhere else, it looks like I was supposed to be here like that is where I am to be.
“Maybe it’s because I have left home for months now……” I tried convincing myself but deep down I know it wasn’t because of home or anything. It’s like I am close to my other half, my mate.
Walking down the hallway, I stopped in my tracks. ” Sir, the Alpha is in a meeting now and couldn’t see you….” One of the guards said with his head bowed down as a mark of respect.
“What about my mother….” I said with a serious tone.
“She went out……” he said
I bitterly swallowed my throat but before I could open my mouth and ask my brother he beat me to it “Sir, your brother isn’t around either….” He uttered. I nod my head sadly before turning away in the opposite direction.
“Sir, what about your food….. It will get cold and you need to rest,” said another guard.
I tried ignoring them but couldn’t help myself, this is not the way I was brought up. Ignoring, snubbing, or looking down on others “I will be fine…..” I said to them before disappearing to the other end.
Standing in front of the window in the hallway, my phone beeps. Picking it up, I noticed that it was my brother.
“Hey bro…..” I said with a beaming smile.
“You back….” He asked me though he tried sounding serious. There is happiness visible in his tone.
“Yeah….” I replied.
“Seriously!….” He seems surprised.
“Will be there in a few minutes, bro…” he said lowly.
“Someone can’t wait to see me…..” I let out a teasing laugh.
“Whatever….” He grumpily said before ending the call. Still, smiling before the sweet and alluring scent hits my nose, is a mixture of strawberry and vanilla my favorite? I licked my lips before I felt a presence behind me, and my body stiffed. Turning around with a throbbing heart, our eyes connected, I surprisingly stared at the beauty before me.
I gave her my megawatt smile after I regained my composure and we both kept staring at each other. She looked surprised as we both uttered the same word mate!!!…..
