Mira’s Pov:
After the incident with my demon mate, after he shamelessly admitted banging a whore, after he uttered a profanity of making my stay a living hell. I decided to stay away from him for a while though I still got a lot of pain from him each passing day but I vowed never to let go as I still see him as my savior from this trauma.
I sat with Luna and other rank members as we had breakfast. I have ditched breakfast for a long time now and she is already getting worried. I don’t want her suspecting or finding out about me being mated to another pack member when I am here to marry her son.
I don’t want her finding out like this though she is going to find out soon not this way, even though she is always jovial and nice around me still I don’t know if she will approve of me being mated to another pack member aside from his mysterious son, the guy that I haven’t seen since I step my foot into this pack.
I continued chewing my food as they discussed, I seriously had no idea what they were talking about.
“Not like you even care to know,” Heaven taunts me as she rolls her eyes at me.
“Who cares…. Their conversation is boring,” I said nonchalantly as I shrugged my shoulders.
“Dramatic…..” Heaven mumbled.
“Why are you shrugging baby girl?” Virginia asked me with curiosity. I lifted my head as I gaped at her startled, “How did she find out?”
“I…I…I… is nothing dear,” I said to her.
“But you just shrugged,” she said.
Will she continue pushing this topic, the whole people in the dining room were now looking at us. As she asked the question, they shifted their attention to me and awaited my response.
“Heaven, please help me out, what should I say?” I pleaded to my wolf.
“You know what to do, just say the truth,” she uttered.
“I am just having some chit-chat with my wolf,” I said, forcing out a dry smile.
“Wow! That’s so nice, I do know how it feels to chat with your wolf,” she pouts childishly as she mumbles. I smile at her since I don’t know how to react to her sudden change in demeanor. The gamma kept throwing heated hate glares my way, making me adjust nervously.
He kept glaring at me, his look is kind of making me uncomfortable. I avoided our eyes connecting. He kept giving me the “you don’t belong here” look, his eyes held too many emotions. His eyes held hatred for me, I know that I haven’t met this man or exchanged words with him apart from the first that I came into this pack. The day that the Luna introduced me to them. But the way he stares at me fucking scared me to the core.
“His stare is giving me concern,” I whispered to Heaven.
“Nothing good comes out from that kind of stare,” Heaven mumbled.
“We have to be careful,” I said to her.
“Yeah…very careful, he smells trouble and evil,” Heaven said as she narrowed her eyes at him.
“Evil! …” I gaped in surprise.
“Don’t fear, is not like something we can’t handle,” she proudly said.
“I love your courage,” I thumped her up in my head causing her to laugh.
“We are the same sweetheart, how many times do I have to tell you that? Stop making me feel special as if you aren’t ” she said with a worried tone.
“We aren’t the same, you are finer than me, I wish to walk around in your form than in my human form,” I mumbled sadly, pouting.
“Why are you jealous of yourself?” She questioned with a teasing tone.
“Shut up…..” I half-whispered.
“Really….” She chuckled.
“I mean it just shut up…. I know that I am not fine, not even presentable,” I sadly murmured to myself. She signed before saying
“You are beautiful, more than anything that I have ever seen in this universe,”
“You are wrong, for I am not beautiful because if truly I am beautiful like you said, our mate couldn’t have rejected us,” I said with tears stinging my eyes.
“Heaven…..” I called my wolf after some minutes of uttering the painful words, she went quiet after I finished talking. I know she was still hurting from the rejection, which wolf won’t be hurt if your other half rejected you like you were nothing. Not even giving you a chance to prove that you are worth him.
“Sorry Heaven…. It was my fault, assuming I was beautiful, our mate couldn’t have rejected us at first sight… is all my fault,” I murmured to her as a single tear trailed down my face. I used my backhand to wipe it off immediately.
“I know you will be ashamed of me,” I kept letting it all out, as I hurtfully mumbled to her.
“Heaven you there … . talk to me and stop giving me silence, if you are not proud of me let me know,” I sniffed and continued bantering.
“Why do you want to stop this amazing moment?” Heaven finally spoke up to me after some hours of keeping silent.
“As I said, we are the same, you are me in your human form and I am you in my wolf form,”
“You are very unique and one special being that I have ever come across,” she said with so many emotions.
“You are bold, fearless, lovely, and caring in nature…. So tell me why won’t I be proud of you?” She said with pride as she pats my head to claim me.
“Thanks….” I whispered.
“You are always welcome but next time don’t underestimate yourself…. You are special like I said,” she said with excitement.
“And we are the same…mind you” she teasingly said to me but in a warning tone. I laughed at her bossy tone.
I was still in my little world with my wolf before she stiffened, which gave me concern.
“Hey… Heaven,” I called her.
“Yes…” she responds with heavy breathing.
“What’s the issue?” I asked, confused.
“He is here,” she said almost to herself.
“Who is here….” I asked with a throbbing heart.
“I can feel him,” she gently whispered.
“Who….. I didn’t get to finish as my hair stood up surprising me, my heart kept throbbing as the door was pulled open revealing the last person that I ever want to see now.
