Reginald simply ignored her and walked out furiously. Suddenly, a tall figure stood in his way. His deep eyes looked at Josephine struggling on his shoulder, “Mr. Reginald, please let go of my fiancée.”
Reginald’s angry face froze, and even Josephine stiffened when she heard Aaron’s gentle voice.
Reginald dropped Josephine from his shoulders, but she soon fell onto the ground as her feet got limp. Aaron rushed forward and took her into his arms. He checked with concerns if she had sprained her ankle. Josephine’s heart was palpitating with fear. Collapsing into Aaron’s arms, she gasped heavily while looking at the hostile Reginald.
Everything was so ironic to Reginald. He stared at her with his piercing cold eyes, “Josephine, you have three seconds to explain this.”
“Mr. Reginald, I think you find the wrong person. She is not Josephine. Her name is Eily, my fiancée, and we will go back to England for our wedding next month.”
However, it didn’t work for Reginald. Suddenly, he took a step forward and grabbed Josephine back from Aaron’s arms. His large hand clenched tightly on her wrist with the veins popping out. “Explain it to me!”
Tears welled up in her eyes, but Josephine managed to hold them back as she raised her pale face, looking at him in an innocent way. “I don’t know you.”
Reginald scowled and grabbed her collar to lift her up, while looking at her malignantly, ”You have stolen my daughter and been disappeared for three years, and now you even have a fiancé?
Where is your conscience?”
Irritated by the way he treated her, Josephine stared at him with contempt, “I’m telling you again. I don’t know you. You even bully a woman in front of her fiancé. What a gentleman you are!”
“Josephine!”
Reginald roared and almost punched Josephine with his clenched fist. Aaron stopped him in a rush and warned Reginald in a calm voice, “Mr. Reginald, that’s enough. Or I will protect my wife at any cost.”
“Your shit!”
Reginald kicked Aaron’s knee violently. Enduring the pain, Aaron pulled Josephine out of his grasp and shielded her behind his body.
Reginald continued to punch him, and Aaron’s face was deflected, wrinkled in pain. Reginald was exasperate and tried to give him another punch, however, Josephine rushed in front of him to shield Aaron. A strong wind swept across her cheek. Josephine closed her eyes out of fear, but the expected pain did not come.
Josephine opened her eyes and was surprised to see Reginald staring at her like a devil, his fist paused before her cheeks.
He snarled out, ”What do you think you are doing?
Do you know my single punch is enough to take you down and keep you in hospital for a week?”
Josephine was gasping and trembling. Struggling with all her might to get her breath back, she looked up and replied indifferently, ”So what?
He’s going to be my husband, and if you want to punch him, knock me down first!”
A hint of shock flashed in Reginald’s annoyed eyes. The atmosphere around was suffocating.
He took a step back, glaring at her face. Aaron was protected by her behind her back. Then, he had a malignant smile, “Josephine, this is the second time I have been fooled around by the Cooke Family. And it is not over. From now on, you will pay the price!”
Josephine got confused. The second time? What did he mean?
Then, he ignored Josephine’s gaze and looked at Aaron. He said mockingly, “Since you know me, I’m warning you: Never touch my women, even a deserted one; or I will hunt you down!”
Then, he grunted coldly and left with big strides. Lochlan watched Reginald with his head resting on the car window. He shook his head with disappointment. Reginald got more furious by her son’s behavior. He got into the car and sped away.
