Chapter 30 Back

Josephine dashed out of the road, opened the door and sat in her car. She quickly turned the steering wheel and drove off, racing wildly down the road.
When she was far away, Josephine stepped heavily on the brake when she arrived at the outside of the compound where she lived. She couldn’t hide her mood anymore and lay her head on the steering wheel, tears pouring down.
Her heart was still trembling violently, and the nightmares and memories from three years ago were vivid in her mind. Why? Why did he reappear in her life?
In the past three years, she tried her best to convince herself to stop thinking about him and forget everything every day and night, but when he reappeared with the son she had so cruelly abandoned, God used the cruelest facts to show her that there were something she could not forget just because she wanted to.
Just like he had once resided in her heart for a whole decade. Even when she thought her heart was dead and she left far away, she never really got over him for one day.
Josephine slumped on the steering wheel and cried hard. When the car window was gently knocked from outside, Josephine dried her tears and turned down the window. The man was standing in front of the window, bending down to look at her, his face was filled with a gentle smile, “You are back?”
Josephine immediately smiled, nodding, “Yeah.”
She opened the car door and got out. The man was dressed in casual wear; his features were uniquely deep and handsome as a hybrid. He smiled and took the shopping bags from her hand, his other hand touched the corner of her red eyes and frowned instantly, “Why are you crying?”
Josephine lowered her head and looked back at him with a smile, “Aaron, where’s Myra?”
After her words dropped out, a little girl in a princess dress ran out from the courtyard, rushing to Josephine and hugged her, “Mommy!”
Josephine picked her daughter up, kissed her little cheek intimately, “Good girl.”
Aaron pulled Myra out of Josephine’s hands as he watched, pointing at the grime and mud strewn across her face and pretending to be angry, “Josephine once said she would make you a princess. Look at you now, your face filled with grime and mud, like a mud doll.”
Myra pouted when she heard this. Her pretty little face looked like two plump meatballs, and she said angrily with a soft voice, “Uncle Aaron is bad, I’ll let mommy ignore you from now on!”
Aaron’s thick eyebrows twisted when he heard her words, and he looked at Josephine with grievance, implying that this was really your good daughter.
Josephine was amused by their mutual dislikes, and her gloomy mood lightened considerably. Nanny Daisy chased out from the courtyard at this time, and saw Josephine. She smiled respectfully and held Myra’s dirty little hand, “Miss Josephine, you are back. I’ll take Miss Myra to the bath now.”
Myra was reluctantly taken away by Nanny Daisy, and then Josephine looked at Aaron with complaint, “You shouldn’t have spoiled her like this.”
He freed his other hand to take Josephine’s hand and smiled tenderly at her, “I want to spoil you and your daughter like babies for the rest of my life.”
A glimmer of gloom flashed across Josephine’s eyes, and she motionlessly pulled her hand back from his hand and looked at him gratefully, “Thank you so much for everything, and we are lucky to have you around.”
Three years ago, she took a flight to London on that day with Myra in her arms to eascape from Reginald. When she arrived in London, she was unfamiliar with the city, so she rented a small apartment in London. With the help of her landlady, who was also a Chinese, she spent almost a month to find a job as an assistant in a small design company. She worked hard every day, and left the child to the landlady to look after. After a long period of preparation and study, she applied for the job of assistant to the president in the company, and finally stood out and became the personal assistant of the president, who was Aaron.
Aaron was a mixed Chinese and British hybrid, and had some affection for Josephine, who was Chinese. As he got along with her on a daily basis, he was attracted by her talents and unmatched hardworking attitude. They became close friends, and got to know that she had a daughter with her.
Josephine once accompanied him to a social gathering, and she was inebriated by a vendor with bad intentions, and it was Aaron who drove her home. Josephine told the stories of herself and Reginald when she was not sober, and not long after that, Aaron suddenly confessed his love to her, saying that he was willing to stay by her side and help her take care of Myra until she could completely forget the man in her heart.
Later, the landlord died of illness. As she had no offspring, she gave all her property to Josephine before she died. When Josephine sorted out the relevant legal documents, she found that the landlord owned an old house worth a fortune in the countryside in her home country before she immigrated to England.
Coincidently, Aaron was preparing to go to H City for business negotiation with a multinational company, so he went together with Josephine.
Three years had passed, and Josephine was unable to accept Aaron as a lover. Josephine really felt guilty sometimes for what Aaron had done for her.
Aaron looked down at his empty palm, an imperceptible disappointment crossed his eyes, but it quickly flickered away. He smiled gently at her, “I accept your thanks. What I said will not change, no matter how long it takes. I am willing to wait for you, because you are the first woman who made my heart flutter beyond control. You are beautiful, intelligent, and diligent, my dream girl.”
More importantly, the man who had always lived in her heart, whose name he had heard, was an absolutely powerful man in business field around the world. She was his wife, but she managed to take his daughter from under his nose and flee to London to start a new life. Her courage and determination to have her life under her control made him fall in love with her immediately.
He would remove that person out of her heart completely one day.
