Chapter 45 Davies Family Authority

Book:The Love of the CEO Published:2024-5-1

The grandfather and grandson pair were so indulged in themselves that they completely ignored the large group of people standing beside them.
The second house’s wife Raya secretly cast her eyes on Brian, who spoke to Paul freely and openly, and thought about it.
Not long after, the nurses came in and said that the patient had to take his medicine and rest.
The big family bid farewell to the old man one by one, and Paul’s joyful expression dropped.
“Brian, stay a bit, grandpa has something to tell you.”
Brian nodded, yes.
Whether intentionally or not, Raya’s eyes caught this sight, then she followed the crowd and walked out of the room as if nothing happened.
Paul waited until everyone was gone, and then sent the nurses out.
The old man’s face was old but still full of vigor, and there was a look of worry.
“How is your grandma’s situation?”
“Good and bad.” Brian replied; he pondered whether to discuss Diana’s sudden situation tonight, but after thinking it over, he didn’t say it. “She keeps wanting to come out and see you.”
Paul’s white long eyebrows wrinkled slightly, revealing a hint of his soft spot.
“You find a way to tell her to stay home and take care of herself, and to stop thinking about ways to come out, it’s bad for her body. When this old man gets better, I’ll return right away!”
“Yes!” Brian nodded.
“I’ll find a way to hide my condition and try to let the world know that this old man’s dying. Then I’ll be able to clearly distinguish just who’s who!”
Brian did not speak.
Paul smiled, “Boy, don’t pretend to be nonchalant.”
Brian raised his eyebrows, he couldn’t help but laugh.
The old man turned his gaze to the outside, and took a deep long glance.
All noble families have always gone through the process of changing heads; it was inevitable. However, as long as this old man was still breathing, he wanted to make sure that no one called the shots without his permission, for he was the authoritative figure of the Davies Family!
“Kid.” Paul retracted his gaze and called out softly.
“Here!”
“Are you in a hurry?”
Brian shook his head.
Paul nodded, “Okay, that’s good! Grandpa is afraid that if you’re always in a hurry, you’ll make hasty conclusions, and you won’t be able to act calmly and with reason! Your temper is not stable enough, you need more experience.”
“Got it.” Brian responded, and the light above his head gently shined onto his handsome face. The corners of this man’s eyebrows and mouth reverberated a sense of calmness.
Paul nodded, “Go on, that’s all I have to say for now.”
Brian got up, hugged his grandfather, and left.
As Brian walked out of the hospital, all the senior members of the hospital, including the dean, came out to see him off in person.
“Take it easy, Mr. Brian.” The dean was middle-aged, fat, and bald, with his glasses on the bridge of his nose. One look and anyone could tell he was a strict, disciplined professional in his field.
“Yeah.” Brian responded faintly, and walked toward his parked car.
He opened the car door and poised his muscular body in an upright position. He raised his head slightly and gazed at the road directly before him. Occasionally, he took out his cell phone.
The call was to a mysterious string of numbers, and someone on the other end quickly picked up.
“Mr. Brian.” The voice was deliberately low.
“What’s the situation?” Brian’s lips slightly opened.
“The old lady’s body has stabilized, but she’s still emotionally anxious. If things go on like this, I’m afraid it will be bad.”
Upon hearing this, Brian’s brows twisted tightly.
As he thought about the situation, his perfect face still looked as cold as frost.
“Okay, I see. Keep observing, contact me at once if anything changes.”
“Yes!”
The engine of the black off-road vehicle roared, as it steadily turned and pulled out the gates of the Davies’ private hospital. On the wide open road, it looked like a black panther which blazed by in a flash.
In another car, Elena drove steadily, and Raya sat in the back. She didn’t have a driver when she left home, and it so happened that Elena would come over for a family dinner, so they traveled together to the hospital and carpooled home together.
The air conditioner was turned on, but Raya still took panicked gasps of breath. After exhaling a deep breath, she uttered in a strange tone.
“In the future, Brian will definitely hold authority of the Davies Family.” She snorted and looked out the window.
Her muttering immediately made Elena uncomfortable in the driver’s seat.
“Can’t you just talk less? Grandpa is still in good health, if your rebellious words reach that old man’s ears, you’ll be sorry.”
Raya curled her lips disapprovingly, “I’m not wrong, you too saw what happened just now. Brian is the only one in that old man’s eyes. I don’t know what happened between the father and son, but if the power was given to the father now, wouldn’t it be handed over to Brian in the future later? Father and son, is it necessary to fight for power to life or death?”
Elena chuckled lightly and gripped the steering wheel with both hands, her eyes flashed with contempt.
“And you, with everyone there, did you really have to single me out.” Raya felt bitter as she said this.
Elena gave her a stare and said, “If I didn’t say what I said, do you think you’d be able to get off that easily? Everyone thinks we don’t get along; what, did you expect me to help you put in a good word?”
Raya blinked and said nothing.
“Besides, so what if grandpa spoils Brian? As long as the old man stays in the hospital, the power of the Davies Family rests in the hands of the eldest brother. And if he gets discharged, do you think the eldest brother will just quietly hand over power to the old man, or transfer it to Brian?
You just stay put, let them fight it out, and we’ll be the ones who come out victorious!”
Raya frowned, “I want to, but Euan isn’t willing to just stay put. You didn’t see how anxious he was yesterday, knowing that the eldest brother Ralph controlled everything from the shadows. He even said he didn’t want to go to the main house for dinner.”
Elena said in an angry voice, “Just look at your impatience. When you can’t stand something or feel wronged, you can’t even endure it, let alone take hold of the Davies Family’s future.”
Raya’s eyes lit up after she heard this, “I’ll go back and persuade him to stop acting so impulsively.”
Elena’s eyes were cold, and she said nothing.
The black off-road vehicle drove into a luxurious residential area. Brian parked his car and walked toward the elevator.
As he opened the front door, the huge space was well-decorated, low-key but elegant.
The man stood at the entrance and changed his shoes. He put his keys and briefcase on a cabinet. He placed one hand on the cabinet as he changed his shoes.
Even though Brian was alone at the moment, all his movements were still so elegant and calm.
His entire body was full of an aristocrat’s elegance.
