Daniel’s POV

My wolf picked up an unknown smell when I was sleeping, and immediately, I sat on the bed to see who was around.
“Angel?” I looked at my mate, who was standing in front of me in black clothes from top to boat with a long black coat that I believed belonged to Aunt Emma.
‘She is not our mate.’, Roman growled, picking her scent and the way she was dressed up. She didn’t hold the warmness in her eyes that my mate had. Or maybe I was waiting after years or something.
“Come here!”, She said, signaling to me with her finger. Even the voice was the same. Roman warned me, but I still went near her.
She chuckled evilly before speaking, “I didn’t know it was that hard to control an Alpha mutt.”, Immediately, Roman growled at her choice of words.
“What kind of tone is this?” her eyes widened as if she was not expecting to hear this from me.
‘I’m telling you something is off. I can smell the scent of my mate from the living room.’
“How’s this possible?”, She asked, more like asking this question to herself. Taking that moment, I touched and quickly pulled my hand away, feeling her hand cold like ice or as if she was dead. Not to forget, I didn’t feel the spark.
“Who are you?” I asked sternly, ready to attack her, but immediately her eyes softened.
“You will raise your hand on me? On or mate?” she asked softly.
This was it.
I let myself be distracted, feeling that she was my mate for a while, and before I could have understood anything, she pieced her fangs into my shoulder, holding me tight. A scream escaped from my mouth. The pain was excruciating. I felt like my body was on fire, unlike the pleasure with I felt with my angel. I tried to wiggle myself, and immediately, the door opened in my room, and the next thing I knew, I was flying in the air. But thankfully handed in my mate’s arm.
I didn’t remember for how long I was out again, but I could hear the conversation between two girls in my mind, back to back.
What was happening?
Who were those?
Even Roman could sense that but couldn’t point it out because we were too tired and weak to use our minds. When I opened my eyes later, the first thing which I did was to look for my mate. She was sitting in the middle of our bedroom on the floor, crossing her legs against each other. She was so engrossed in her meditation that she didn’t realize that I was already awake. I was about to keep my feet on the floor nearby the bedside, but I saw blood, which looked like as if someone had spilled it on the floor. I stepped out of bed from the other side, and that’s when my eyes landed on the red mark on my left shoulder.
I looked at it carefully, and it didn’t take us more time to realize that we were already marked. Since it was still fresh, that’s why her mark had not taken shape in a perfect way. Maybe after a few hours, I could finally see what her mark looked like.
‘She is away ahead of us in everything. From confessing her love to marking us. I wouldn’t be surprised if she would be the one who would take the first step in mating with us.’ Roman chirped happily, knowing that we were now marked, and at the same time, he was calling me ‘tortoise.’
I sat beside and strangely, she didn’t notice my presence. She observed her face keenly and realized the girl I met earlier and she may look similar, but my mate was more lively and unlike her dead doppelganger. Immediately I saw something like a vision; no, not exactly a vision, but I felt like I was there.
But it didn’t take me much time to realize that it was not my vision but my mate.

“So, from where to start?” Angel asked, getting nervous. I softly pulled her in my arms, making her sit in my lap while I wrapped my arms around her waist. I clenched my jaw to keep my desire in control when her ass pressed against my little member.
“Maybe about your parents.”, I suggested.
“Talking about parents. Are you also going to share the reason for the conflicts going on between you and your mother?”

Roman whimpered hearing that.
‘I wanted to see how Iv looks like?’, He said in a low tone.
‘Iv?’
‘What? When Evangeline can be ANGEL, then why can’t Ivory be IV?’, he growled, on which I kept my mouth shut. He was already in a bad mood because his date got canceled, and arguing with me, the injured beast, was not a great idea.
“Don’t be sad now; it’s just one-time punishment.”, She added. “Now, starting from my parents, you already know who my mother is. But you don’t know that my mother was not a human, but a werewolf just like others in the pack, but her mate died in the rouge attack. Because of that incident, her wolf couldn’t bear the pain of separation, and she too left mom just like her mate did.”
“A case similar to Aunt Emma.”
“Hmm. After that, she met my biological father, Orpheus, who was a vampire Lycan hybrid. Even though he had lost her fated mate, but his Lycan was strong enough to survive. Since their situation was more alike, they found solace in each other’s company, but my mother’s family was not happy with this relationship because…
“… he was half vampire?” I asked, to which she nodded.
“So, they trapped him using mom as bait and beat him, injured him, tortured him to his death. Instead of killing him in one go, they enjoyed torturing him and experimenting on him; after all, it was not every day that they get to find a hybrid.”, She said, and somewhere I knew this fact about Fire Cross Pack. I was never pleased with the way they used to run the pack. They were evil.
“Then Vincent, his son, whom he had converted into a vampire, and my also brother, helped him to escape from there. But whatever had happened to dad then, he was slowly dying, not able to heal himself. That’s when his Lycan sacrificed his life to save his.”
“Okay! That explains why Orpheus is now a full vampire.”, I concluded, on which she nodded her head. “And all this told by Orpheus?” I asked.
“No. Vincent told me, and I can tell that he was not lying about it.”, She confessed. “And when he was recovered from all this damage, he came to know that mom was already married. He didn’t want to give about her being married, and he even fought with his coven members and other Elders about it, but the fact she was pregnant made him change his decision. He could think of bringing his lover to the dark world, but at the same time, he didn’t want to snatch a mother from an infant.”
Hearing this, my respect for Orpheus increased. I was not fond of vampires and but what he did was really admirable.
“He always knew that you were his, didn’t he?” I asked, on which she nodded again.
“He has a gift to cloak himself or anyone. Vincent said that he was used to staying with me at night and saw the little human-created because of him. He couldn’t stay with me, but at the same time, he didn’t want to miss me growing a baby to kid.”
“Please don’t tell me that this continued even in you attended your teenage and adult because that part is something that neither Roman nor me wanted to hear.”, I said, making faces.
“No. He stopped doing that when I grew older.”, She said, slapping my arms. I sighed in relief when I heard that. “You are unbelievable. How could you even think that my father is a creep?” she asked and turned her head toward me, on which she unknowingly grinds her ass against my little member. “I’m not talking with you.”, Saying this, she turned her body, grinding her ass again.
“Do you know he didn’t want me to find out about him? That’s why he even tore the papers of the diary that mom had left for me? In which she had mentioned everything about him or maybe a lot more things.” she continued speaking, but my mind was totally not present there, and she grind her ass again. I hissed, closing my eyes, controlling my desire because of what she was doing innocently.
“What’s wrong? Why are you hissing?”, She asked in concern turning her body toward me again and rubbing her ass again. When I opened my eyes to hear her question, she gasped because Roman was trying to take control of my body, and I was sure that she would have smelt my arousal.
“Stoping rubbing your ass against my dick if you don’t want me to fuck you, right here! RIGHT NOW.”, I warned. Immediately her eyes widened, and her cheeks turned pink. She started looking at her nail, averting her eyes from me.
‘Why are you shying like a little girl? Tell him that you were doing this on purpose.’ I heard someone else’s voice in my mind.
‘It’s Ivory.’, Roman said. ‘Seems like they don’t know how to close their mindlink.’, he added in an amused tone at the innocency of our mate.
‘But she can’t hear us until we mark her back, but yes, she can sense us and our emotions a better than before.’, I said and thought to hear her thoughts silently like a naughty man. I was amused at how Ivory was pushing her to admit the truth.
I kept my index finger at her chin and made her look at me, and leaned forwarded to kiss her. I didn’t want her to feel shy in front of me for admitting anything; after all, even females could have some sexual desire. Her fingers dug into my hair and kissed me back, rubbing her ass against my little member again.
“Fuck! Angel. Don’t test my patience. Because I’m not planning to do anything like that today.”, I confessed, breaking the kiss, on which she finally stopped.
‘Why not?’ Iv asked

“What is it? Because you have already told me that ‘I’m not planning to do anything like that today?”, She said, trying her best to her hide disappointment, but she miserably failed.
I cupped her face and placed my forehead over her. “Please don’t be sad, Angel. It’s just that I want to do everything in a proper way. And before anything, I want to announce in front of the whole pack that how perfect you’re, and I also owe you an apology for being a jerk in the beginning, and then I want to take you on a date and confess my love in a good way and then…my mate, I will mark you and mate with you. I want to make every moment memorable for you.”
‘He’s so thoughtful.’, Iv purred.
‘Yeah! But at the same time, I’m scared that all these things will ever come true or not because we are running out of time.’, Angel responded.
I had no idea what was coming next, but I wanted to know what was coming next.
“Coming back to the topic, do you have any idea what’s happening around?”
“Not fully. But yes, sort of.”, She responded and told me everything that happened back in the coven, and then Vincent’s glimpse of the future, and then Silas’s mentioning about THAT WOMAN repeatedly before getting kidnapped, then the mystery of the black coat and everything happened next was something which I already know.
“Soooo, you can control time?”
“Yes! Sort of, but I’m not PRO in it.”, She responded. “How do you think I came to know about the way they are going to attack!”, She added. “But something used to change every time when I used to rewind the time in one way or other but at the end, that used to happen which was written in fate.”, She muttered. “That’s why I didn’t rewind the time this time.”
“So, have you made any plan that how you can going to deal with her?”
“Yeah! I know the destination, but I don’t have any path as of now.”, She said, confusing me. When she saw my eyebrows furrowed and my eyes narrowed, she spoke again, “I have to time travel back into the time and stop that vampire who had bitten her or say converted her into this beast.”
“That’s easy, right?”
“No. At least not now. Because right now, I don’t know how to time travel.”, She said in a low tone.
“And I’m sure you will figure it out SOON.”, I said, boosting her confidence.
“Hope so! And I’m scared that if I will do something like that, then it might affect our life as well. Because if that woman and vampires are kinds of one reason because of which you were strengthening your pack in the first place. If I will kill her, then maybe…maybe you will never come to my place with the proposal to marry Aleena.”
“But didn’t you mention that at the end that used to happen which was written in fate?’ And this way or that way, we will be together that the end, and who knows, things will be different at that time.” I joked about cheering her up, but this thought scared me to the hell.
Whatever she said was true. Everything happens for a reason, and each and every incident is related to one another. If the base of the reason would change, then the story would definitely change!
Damn it!
‘But we are fated mates and are destined to be together. Even this time, we were going to marry her sister, but at the least, we ended up marrying her. I’m sure our path would collide again even if the story will change.’ Roman cheered me up, thinking positive.
“Now that I have shared everything. It’s your turn.”
Moon Goddess! This was the toughest thing to do.
I took a deep breath before speaking, “It was Nora’s third birthday….”
After twenty minutes later, when I finished, I saw her staring at me without blinking her eyes. “Don’t you dare to speak anything about that woman or anything about clearing the doubts or anything about it.”, I warned her.
“I wasn’t going to say anything about her but yes! I need to visit both my fathers to know about my doppelganger or my twins’ sister, if any. My guts feeling is telling me that they know something that I don’t know.”
“And I’m coming with you.”
“No! You will be staying at a place which I have asked Stephen to find out so that you will be safe from all the vampires.”
“You got to be kidding me.”, I said sarcastically. “If I will have to die, then I will die by this or another way. So, I’m coming with you; that’s final.”
“But…
“You can already cancel the date, so both Roman and I are free and want to help. And not to forget that woman can control anyone’s mind. I didn’t want that to happen, otherwise…’ I signaled my right hand near the neck, drawing it from right to left instead of completing the book.
“Shut up! Nothing will happen to you.”
“That’s why I’m coming with you.”, I said, shrugging my shoulder.
“I wonder why did she try to kill you when she always controls other’s minds?”, She questioned. “Why will anyone like to kill such a handsome hunk?”
“Thank you for the compliment. But maybe she tried to kill me because she couldn’t control my mind.”, I replied, unsure of my answer because I remembered eyeing me continuously and then even ordering me to come near her.
“What?”
“I’m not sure about it, but I heard her speaking that she didn’t know it was that hard to control an Alpha mutt.”, I responded, on which she growled in anger.
“How could she say you mutt?”, She asked in anger.
‘That’s our mate who can never insult us nor hear any disrespecting thing toward us.’, Roman said proudly, and I couldn’t agree more.
