Evangeline’s POV

“The pack doctor is bitten and killed by a vampire.”, Dad said.
“What the hell the warrior on patrol are doing?” I couldn’t stop myself from yelling at him. “An unknown vampire was in my room, and someone among you invited her inside. I swear I will rip that person’s throat mercilessly and suck all his or her blood.”, I threatened, looking at my mate whose shoulder was continuously bleeding and his wound was not healing because of vampire venom. And obviously, it was affecting him because that vampire was not his mate.
‘Dad, Nora, Mom, Aunt Emma, and Diana.’ I couldn’t trust them because they were inside the packhouse when a vampire attacked on us; the only person who couldn’t do this was Stephen.
“Except Stephen, everyone can leave the room.”
“But…”
“LEAVE.”, Ivory growled, making them leave the room. I wasted no time in locking the door of both the room and balcony, including the window.
“Stephen, I can trust, right?”
“Yes, sister-in-law.”
“And you will hide this fact with your mate as well.”
“But…
“Can’t you do this for your brother?”
“I will not share anything with anyone.”, He then said in a serious tone.
“Please arrange a house for Daniel and me on an urgent note and don’t say anything about it with anyone.”, He nodded his head after hearing this. I knew I could rewind the time and stop this incident from happening, but at the same time, I knew that if it was written in his fate and sooner or later, by this way or that way, this was going to happen.
“Now, what are you going to do now?”
“Handle this on my own. I will suck all the venom from his body. Just like people do in case of a snake’s bite.”, I responded. It was the right thing to do or not, but that was my only option and hope. I had to do this because venom spread in his whole body.
“Now, even you can leave to get this work done but don’t say a word to anyone, including your mate.”, I reminded him again.
“Don’t worry. My mate is important to me, but at the same time, my family is no lesser important than my mate.”, Saying this, he left from there, and I locked the door again.
Then I placed Daniel’s body on the bed and straddled his injured body. I bit into his shoulder where that woman had bitten him, i. e., at his wound, and tried to suck out her venom from his body as much as possible and spilled it out on the floor.
‘Mark him.’, Ivory said.
“In this state?”
‘Yes! We need to know his status, and that wouldn’t be possible until we mark him. So, mark him.’
‘Okay!’ I nodded my head at her suggestion and marked him, piercing my canine on the left side of his shoulder; after a while, I licked the wound to close it.
‘You have marked just by your canine. Mark him by using your fangs as well. You are a hybrid, remember?’
I was not sure about all these parts, but then, I knew Ivory loved our mate more than anything; she wouldn’t guide me to something stupid. I then pierced my fangs at the same place where I had punctured his skin with my canine a moment ago. The inner beast inside me started to fight with me for the blood, but I shut that beast down and controlled my hunger because drinking blood from him at this moment was more like planning to kill him. I retracted my fangs and licked his wound again so that it could close.
I kissed his forehead and kept staring at his face and then his wound from time to time to see any improvement, and I couldn’t help myself from smiling when his wound finally started healing, which was because of that psycho woman.
‘I can sense him.’, Ivory howled in joy.
‘Yeah! Even I can see the improvement.’, I admitted with a smile.
‘No. I’m not talking about that. I can sense Roman, you silly.’, She chirped.
‘Seriously, Ivory?’
‘I’m sorry. I just got carried away.’
‘What next now? I feel so lost? Silas is not here, and if I’m not wrong, then that psycho took control over him and took him with her.’
‘And we already know where she was going!’
Damn it!
I wanted to help them, but then I couldn’t live with my mate in this state between the people whom I couldn’t trust. What if something happened to him in my absence?
‘Don’t panic much. I think I know something that you can do until our mate wakes up.’
‘What’s it?’
‘Try to relax your mind and try to focus on your powers. You can time travel only when your mind will be stable.’
‘And how the hell can I be stable when all this is happening around? I wonder why now?’
‘Maybe because that psycho is afraid of you and wants you to stay unstable so that you can never go back to that time to kick her ass when she was just a day old or something? Haven’t you heard that people who repeatedly attack your confidence and self-esteem are quite aware of your potential even if you are not?’, She said, and now I was confirmed that my Lycan was a philosopher.
I didn’t know what the reason behind that psycho’s attack was, but if what Ivory was saying came as true meant I was like a Po and that psycho was like Shen of Kung Fu Panda 2. On the top, if that psycho had the same face as mine, then there was definitely some sort of connection between us.
Connection about which I was unaware!
But not for long!
I left the bed and sat in the middle of the room on the floor. Trying to relax my mind. I started to see thinking about the thing that could happen the day after tomorrow. I kept trying no matter how long it was going to take and relax my mind.

‘Kill him.’, A woman’s face hidden in a black coat ordered me. Why would I take her order in any way but? I did. I picked up a silver knife to kill someone.
And my eyes widened in shock when I realized that it was Daniel whom I was going to stab right into his heart.
‘No! No! No! No! Why am I doing this? Why am I doing this?’
I kept thinking but still, I stabbed him in his chest.
‘Aaahhhhhh’

My eyes were wide open seeing this nonsense. And when I opened it, I squealed, finding Daniel sitting beside me.
“You scared me.”, I said, keeping my hand on my chest.
“I saw.”
“What?” I asked in confusion.
“I saw what you saw.”, he said, and I stopped breathing. “Maybe because you marked me, that’s why I can enter your mind.”, he added in confusion because until now, mates could only hear what they think, but I didn’t know they could even see.
“Do you think I can do that?” I asked in a low tone.
“Noooo. I can clearly see that woman in the hood was controlling you.”, he responded, cupping my face. “So, stop worrying about that part. But I want to know what’s happening?”
“Yeah, we need to talk about a lot of things.”
