Evangeline’s POV

‘So, this is that human Luna.’
‘Yes, she is the one.’
‘No one had seen her before. She rarely comes out of the house.’
‘Well, you can’t blame Alpha for that since she is human, so Alpha might be trying to keep her safe.’
‘They look good together.’
‘Yeah! It explains why Alpha doesn’t want anyone to see the face of his mate.’
‘When is he going to mark her?’
‘She is still not marked by Alpha, and smelling her scent, I can tell that they haven’t mated until now.’
‘So the future Alpha is not going to come anytime soon.’
‘But why is taking so much time in Alpha marking his fated mate when Alpha had already announced that she is not just someone to whom he married for the sake of strengthing the pack?’
‘I can feel that whatever changes which we have seen in the last ten to twelve days are because of Luna.’
‘I had heard that Luna had left Alpha because of his behavior.’
‘Yeah! Even I had heard that Alpha’s wolf also left him when Luna did to him, causing him a heart attack.’
“What?” I couldn’t help myself from reacting to the last two words. I knew even Daniel was having had time controlling his anger. Everyone started looking at me as if they didn’t say anything, with an expression that was what made me react like this.
I would have demanded answers from them, Daniel and especially Diana, whether it was true or just gossip among the pack members. But then, creating a scene was the last thing I wanted to make. And observing Daniel’s expression, I could say he, too, wanted to do the same. If it would have been his party or anything related to him, then he would have dealt with everyone at the same moment, but then again, it was a big day for Stephen, so he remained calm.
The rituals were about to start when Aunt Emma’s scent hit me. Everyone turned their head again, looking at her. I left Daniel’s side and walked toward her to receive her.
“Now, we can start with the ceremony.”, I said, placing her between all the family members. I snaked my arms around my mate to calm him down, and my presence did help.
“All I meant to say that at that moment is that I have already fallen in love with you.”, I confessed to my hot-headed mate.
“Seems like we both are on the same track.”, he said, looking at me. “I…”
“Now, it’s time to swear an oath by the Alphas of both Fire Cross Pack with Stone Moon Pack as peace of treaty, and for that, I would request Alpha Stephen and Alpha Daniel to come up front.”, Because of this announcement, Daniel left my side for a while.
‘Rouges,’ Ivory growled all of a sudden.
‘Are you sure? Because everyone here is standing calmly. Wouldn’t they…’
‘Shut the fuck up! They are not the Lycan. I’m.’, She growled at me, shutting my mouth.
“HOLD THIS CEREMONY.”, I shouted and looked at Mom, Nora, and Aunt Emma. “Take all the pregnant females, kids, old age people to the bunker.”
“But…”
“Now,” I growled at them, startling them with my sudden outburst. Ivory’s aura made them surrender in front of me.
“But Eva…” Dad started to speak.
“Rouges will be here soon, dad. Believe me. And I will appreciate it if you all will corporate instead of asking questions.”
“Didn’t you hear what Luna Evangeline said?”, It was Daniel who roared, looking at the pack members. Those who can fight can stay in the ground, and those who can’t can move to a bunker.”
“It’s Liam with the pack members who left with him.”, Stephen said after talking to someone over the mind link.
“Who’s this, Liam?” I asked, hearing the name from Stephen’s mouth.
“He is the former Alpha of Fire Cross Pack whom Stephen has defeated.”, Diana answered. “He left the pack after the duel along with those pack members who wanted to follow him.”, Just like earlier, my body got tensed. I knew Silas was in trouble.
‘Where the hell is you!’ I growled at him in mind.
‘Tigress! Thank god…
‘Get your ass back to me before someone kidnaps you or something else happens to you.’
‘On the way to you. By the way, there’s a piece of bad news. They are under someone’s control, and those rouges are with the new breed vampires.’
“Everyone!” I shouted to gain everyone’s attention. “Those rouge are not alone. They are with vampires, so keep your neck area protected.”
“Woah! How can you…”, Daniel asked in shock.
“Brace yourself, Alpha, for the war. I will answer your question after this.”, With this, I froze the time and concentrated my mind to see how we could win without any loss. I could see the future of the things which could happen in the next half an hour to an hour with my powers.
That’s a different thing that Vincent told me. I could also see the things of years later if I wanted to and also time travel in both the past and the future, but I was still in a learning phase, and to do all those things, my powers needed to be fully activated.
Once I saw the future, I unfroze everyone.
“I have a plan, and you three need to do the things accordingly.”
“Count me in!” Diana said.
“Perfect. As you can only mind linking the pack members and warriors, that’s why you have to direct them to…….”. Daniel had a proud smile when I finally shared my plan, while Diana had a knowing smile, while Stephen was damn too confused, but he was quick enough to handle the situation. Since Diana was already the Luna of the Fire Cross pack, she could mind link them. I used that time to look at dad.
“Dad…you need to stay near the bunker. In case something goes wrong. Though we will try our best to keep them away from there.”
“But Eva…I want to help.”
“And you will be doing that by staying near those people who are not able to protect themselves, and that’s what the job of an Alpha or Luna, whether it is current one or the former one.”
“Not just dad, but you will be staying near the bunker.”, I heard Daniel speaking. I looked around; the pack members had started creating the trap for our enemies.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me, Angel. You will stay with dad. That’s final. Maybe your Vampire’s gift is strong, but that doesn’t change the fact that you don’t know how to fight.”, He stated, using his Alpha tone.
“I might not be PRO like everyone, but I’m not weak too.”, I countered back. However, he was right about this part to some extent. I didn’t have much fighting skills, and there was no shame in admitting it because even that day, two weak rouges had kicked my ass, but this fact didn’t mean I was weak.
“Can you PLEASE listen to me for once and all?”, He asked softly.
Wow! He was using this to change my mind.
“I know you are not weak. It’s just I’m reminding you that one of the responsibilities of Luna is to ensure everyone’s safety and to protect pack members who can’t protect themselves. And not to forget, our bunker is not big enough to keep the people of two packs, so many of them would still be outside.”, He explained, “And what I was going is say before was that I too have fallen in love with you, Angel.”, he added and looked at dad before shifting and ran away as per the plan. I reluctantly followed Dad.
‘Silas?’
‘I’m inside the packhouse. I felt the presence of some other vampires! It seems like someone invited them inside.’
‘What? Keep everyone safe until I reach there.’
“What is your gift, Eva?” Dad asked out of nowhere. Or maybe he wanted to know for long.
“I can control the time, dad. That’s why I could see the things that were coming and rewind it to stop it from happening.”
He chuckled before speaking, “You can rewind the time, but you can stop the things from happening, dear.”
“What do you mean?”
“If something is written in his or her fate, then that will surely happen this way or other. You can’t change anyone’s fate.”
“So you mean I can’t change a thing by this?”
“You can but only when you can cheat the fate, and that can only happen when you can stop the reason behind anything happening so.”, he explained, and I thought hard about it. I felt my body getting tensed again. Silas was in trouble.
‘Are you okay?’
‘Tigress! Thank god, I….’
‘Cut the crap and tell me the things are happening around.’
‘That woman is here, and she is….’
Shit!
I rewind this incident again; this time, I quickly agreed with Dan’s request and ran toward the packhouse to look for that particular woman.
‘There is no vampire here, Silas.’
‘I know, but who told you that there is a vampire?’ he asked in confusion because he had no idea what had happened earlier.
Damn it!
After a while, Diana joined me inside the packhouse. “I should be with you, Eva! More than helping my mate because I’m sure he is strong enough to handle himself.”
‘Vampires are approaching the packhouse.’, Ivory told me.
‘But they can’t enter inside, right? Until someone carries them inside or invites them.’
‘I’m sure they are not that stupid about that. Someone has invited them here.’, She concluded.
“The number of vampires is unlimited, and unfortunately, they are coming toward the packhouse.”, Dad announced and shifted into his wolf form.
“Please don’t panic. We will try our best to protect everyone.”, I assured everyone. They might be thinking, how could I save them.
‘Show them.’, Ivory said, and I let Ivory take control, and soon I shifted into a huge white wolf. My wolf’s size was bigger than dad’s wolf.
And Diana, too, shifted beside me while Silas took the attack position. I ignored the shocked gazes on me and focused on my powers. I could use both my lycan’s power and Vampire’s powers at the same time, and this was the first time I was going to use it practically.
‘You ready?’ I asked Ivory.
‘More than anything.’
There was only one main door to enter inside, so I focused on it, and before anyone could have entered inside, I jumped on the vampires kicking them out of the packhouse using my huge body.
‘Silas, ask dad and Diana to handle the vampires in case they come from the window or upstairs, and you will stay by my side.’
‘Rogers that.’
Those flirty vampires bit me in several body areas but little did they know that I was also a vampire, so their venom didn’t bother me. But Silas was quick to throw them away from me. We had each other’s back. On the top, the fact we could mind linking each other was the best factor. Whenever I used to get in trouble, I used to rewind the time a little and then used to dodge the attack.
No one was going to enter inside the packhouse from the main gate, not until I was alive.
Soon, the weather started changing, and the sun was covered under the cloud, and my nose smelt the familiar scent.
‘Pain’
And soon, all the vampires stopped attacking and crying in pain.
I looked around and found Elder Alaric with someone by his side. Since the number of rouges was less, I was sure that others could handle that. I shifted into my human form, and thankfully my clothes were intact with my body. I ran toward them to thank them personally.
“Thank you for your help, Elder Alaric.” I talked with him respectfully, unlike the previous time.
“You can thank your father, Evangeline.”, he said and looked at someone behind me. I turned around and saw a lot of werewolves were glaring at them.
And they were my pack members and the members of the Fire Cross Pack.
Oh! They’re made seeing Vampires were in their territory, but no one dared to attack them.
“A war is coming, Evangeline. So, we need as many people as we can because if we don’t start preparing from now, then that day is no far when we will have to fight against the people we love and care about them the most.”
“I get that.”
“You better because Elder Ambrosia is missing, and in case that psycho has got a hand on her, then that’s not a piece of great news at all because she has the power to steal. She can steal your, mine, or anyone’s powers for a few minutes, leaving you, me, or anyone powerless. As for now, we are hoping you get control over your powers so that you can travel back in the time and kill that psycho woman before she gets so stronger.”
“Hmm. Thank you again, and I apologize for my behavior for the last time.”, I said truthfully. There was no shame in apologizing; in fact, it needed so much courage and strength to apologize. “I know know that you had the power to torture me then and there when I disrespected you but instead, you chose to let the matter go.”
“Now, don’t boost my ego. Burn those vampires as soon as possible. So that I can leave from here because I will end up losing my smelling power by staying near so many mutts.”, He said in a disgusting tone. I bite my inner cheeks from speaking anything insulting.
All the respect that was firm in my heart for him just a moment before was now long gone.
“Get all the leeches at one place and burn them alive.”, I yelled, turning around. Though I was sure that they could have heard me even if I would have spoken in a low tone.
“Leeches?” Elder Alaric asked, flaring his nose in anger.
“Umm…yeah. This is what they call vampires, just like they are mutts or dogs for vampires.”, I replied in a polite way and with a small smile playing on my lips.
What? Tit for Tat.
“You’re impossible.”, He muttered under his breath.

After a while, I started walking toward my mate, who was standing in front of me in nothing but his shorts. In fact, a lot of people were in the same form. I could smell fear from a lot of werewolves standing over there. I ignored that and went into the arms of that man who confessed to loving me.
“Who is the Beta of the pack now?” I asked, looking for a smell of a higher-rank wolf. “You are, aren’t you?”
“Yes, Luna.”, He bowed his head. “I’m Charles Reynolds, the new beta of this pack.”
“All right, Charles! Please make sure to arrange necessary arrangements for the injured werewolves in the infirmary, and I guess no one is dead, right?”
“No, Luna. By Moon Goddess grace, the plan which Alpha shared, none of us died tonight, and also his hard training paid off.” he praised my mate’s skill. I didn’t want to correct him that it was my plan because taking appreciation from them was the last thing in my mind at that moment.
“Great!” I responded, nodding my head. “I can smell that half of you are scared of me because of my connections with vampires. But I mean no harm to anyone. I’m a half-vampire, and I can’t change that fact about me, but at the same time, I’m half….”
I couldn’t complete the sentence and fell unconscious.
‘Not great timing. I knew.’
