Daniel’s POV

A lot of things happened today.
At first, I was mad at my pack members for blurting out the truth of my heart attack in front of my mate indirectly.
Then my mate added fuel to my anger by bringing Aunt Emma to the ceremony.
Then she confessed her love for me clearly, though she did this to calm down my anger, but whatever it was, it worked for that time period. I knew my mate; she did this because she had no idea about what that old lady had done, and the second thing was, she didn’t want any of the family members missing from that ceremony.
And then the attack. Truth to be told, I asked her to be in the packhouse because I didn’t want anything to happen to her, and she could stay safe there, but then I realized that the vampires who had entered the pack were acting like Zombies, who had no idea about what they were doing, but at the same time, their target was never on us but the packhouse. I wanted to go there to help her to keep her safe, but damn too, the number of vampires. No matter how much I many vampires I had killed, they didn’t seem to lessen their numbers and observed them; one could tell that they were newly shifted, maybe a day or two days before, and had no idea about their powers or anything because they were in the same clothes in which they had been turned in vampires. I meant the clothes that they had worn were soaked in blood around their neck part. In normal cases, they would have at least thought about changing their clothes before fighting with us.
The only thing that could be a danger for any one of us was their venom.
All of a sudden, Roman felt the presence of a higher rank wolf. And I could say that everyone felt the same.
‘Dad, just tell me that Angel is safe?’ I asked in concern, not trying to lose my focus on the war. I just didn’t have to kill them, but I, too, had to save my pack members as well who used to get injured.
“She is, don’t worry. But at the same time, you need to keep your misconception about her being weak away now. Because she is a more powerful person in the whole pack.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘I will talk about her later. Let me focus.’
I was sure that nothing was going to happen to anyone; after all, they were not mad to invite vampires into the house, right?
That was why I focused my mind on the enemies in front of me.
After a while, all the vampires started crying in pain and fell to the ground.
How?
That could be thought of later, and we used that moment the wipe all the rouges and especially their Leader, Liam. That bastard had to leave after accepting the defeat; instead of that, he planned to attack this day when a lot of pack members could have died and injured.
‘What we should do with all these vampires, Alpha?’ Charles, my new beta, asked.
‘Gather them in one place. Ask the warriors to get this as soon as possible’., I answered him through mind link and ran toward the packhouse in my wolf form. At the same time, I could say that others too followed me because their mates were there in the bunker, and surprisingly, a lot of vampires were dead outside the main gate, as if someone didn’t let them enter inside. I would have run inside to check on my mate, but her scent was not from inside the packhouse but outside it. I looked around and found her two vampires.
Though I could hear her conversation but wasn’t able to understand it because they were talking in their languages which are immune to vampires’ blood, and judging the clothes of the vampire, I could tell that one of them was a high-ranked vampire, Elder maybe. And it didn’t take me much time to realize that it was because of them that all the vampires were in pain.
‘Why is Luna talking with vampires?’
‘And how could she understand and talk with them in their language? Either she learned it, or is she immune to it.’
‘I can accept a human as Luna but not a vampire as Luna.’ I heard dad’s beta speaking.
The most common question popped into everyone’s head. ‘ENOUGH’
‘That’s why I had told you to tell the truth to everyone about our mate’s identity.’, Roman muttered.
‘If I would have told them the truth before then, they would have already made a misconception about our mate as their enemies that too without knowing her, and we both didn’t want that to happen.’, I reasoned out on which Roman didn’t say a word.
After Angel ordered them to burn all the leeches, I couldn’t help myself from smiling at her choice of words. She was calling vampires leeches in front of one of the Elders. I wondered whether it was confidence or stupidity. Once they left, she used her superhuman speed to reach me, and I wasted no time holding her in my time.
Everyone was scared of her. If not fully, then a little for sure. They might be thinking that it was my mate who had invited those vampires inside the packhouse. She didn’t need to explain anything to anyone, but she did to ease the environment. She was in the middle of the conversation when she fell unconscious all of a sudden.
“Angel…” I panicked, holding her fragile figure in my arm. I picked her in my arm to take her inside, but my own people blocked my way.
“I respect you and Luna, Alpha, but half-vampire or full vampire, she is not allowed anywhere near packhouse or our mates.”, My Gamma, Tyler, said.
“With due respect, Alpha, but I agree with Gamma Tyler, even half-vampire needs blood for their living, and so I don’t want her to lose her sense and drink the blood of my family members.”, Adams, one of the best warrior of the pack said.
My gaze darkened, and I knew what I would do next. “Anyone else has any problem with my mate then can leave the pack before I end up killing them.”, I growled. Because it was not my mate who would leave from here, but they would.
They quickly stepped away from my way before I could have taken my mate inside; a lot of pack members of both the packs, who were inside until now, started running out, maybe to check on their mates, sons, or brother!
This was what I expected, but instead, they started checking on my mate.
“What happened to Luna?”
“Is she alright?”
“She is alive.”
“Thank Moon goddess!”
“Lily, stay away from her. She is a vampire.”, Tyler said, pulling his mate away from mine.
“Just shut up!”, She growled at him, jerking his hand away from her mate.
“There is nothing to be scared of. She is all right.”, Grandma Paige said, checking my mate’s veins. She was the nurse in the pack infirmary. She and her mate were the oldest couples in the whole pack.
“Grandma,” Adam tried to pull her away from my mate just like Tyler did, but she slapped his hand. “Dare you to say repeat something what that Tyler boy said.”, She scolded him. “The girl who called herself half-vampire is also a half Lycan.”, she said, widening everyone’s eyes.
Because Lycan was almost extinct from our world.
‘It was her Lycan’s presence which we felt earlier.’ I talked with my wolf.
“I have seen a lot of Lycan in my age back then. And today, after observing her, I can tell that she barely had learned how to fight, but still, she risked her life to save everyone staying inside. She is neither marked by the Alpha of the pack nor is she the Luna of the pack still; she took the responsibility to save everyone’s life, whether it is from this pack or the Fire cross pack, by risking her life. Thanks to the other boy, who kept her saved from any injuries.”, She said and looked around. “Where is he, by the way?”
“Grandma!! I’m here”, Everyone looked up and saw him standing in the top area of the tree.
“What are you doing there?”, She asked, looking at the tree.
“I can’t risk standing there on the ground because there is someone to protect the half-vampire, but I can’t say the same about me.”
“Nonsense. Come over here. I will spank everyone ass who will even try to touch you.”, She said confidently. And that was true! The old lady had barely left anyone from spanking as a punishment when we were kids. She also used to spank me for my undisciplined behavior. Once Silas came downstairs, Grandma Paige continued. “And those who have a problem with Luna with being half-vampire, then they have to deal with me.”
“Also me.
“Also me”
“Me too.”
One by one, the mates of the pack members were against their mate for their Luna. My chest swelled with pride; she fought to protect my pack members just like I had said to her. Though I didn’t mean her to do that because seeing her lifestyle, I knew that she never learned to fight with supernatural creatures, and there she was. She risked her own life, not knowing how to deal with all of them. I cradled her closer to my chest as I watched the amazed gazes of even those who were against her until now. They studied her in my arms, and I could feel each of their respect for her grow.
I saw Silas staring at her. I couldn’t help myself, and a low growl escaped from my throat.
“She’s yours. I know that.”, he said, raising his hand. “It’s just she needs blood because she used every cent of her energy.”, he added and was loud enough that everyone could hear him.
“I have a bottle of blood with me.”, Diana said.
“Fresh blood will help.”, Silas added.
“Human’s blood or animal’s blood?” Dad asked.
“Human blood will help more.”
“Alpha, should I kidnap any human for a while?” Charles asked in ac calm tone.
“No. Do the word which my mate has assigned to you. I will take care on my own,” I said and started taking Angel inside the packhouse. “Silas, come with me.”, I added; after all, I had to ask something from him. I didn’t have a problem with my mate being a half-vampire, but I hated the fact that she needed human blood. I didn’t want to hurt any human, and I was sure that neither would Angel think about it.
Placing Angel on the bed, I turned toward him. “Yes, you can.”
“But I didn’t ask or say anything.”, I pointed out, frowning, “You can read mind?”
“No. But I can already see that coming.”, he answered nonchalantly. “So, yes, you can feed on you, and unlike other vampires, her venom won’t harm you because you two are mates.”, he explained, to which I nodded my head.
“When you know that she is my mate and she has feelings for him, then why are you roaming around her? Looking for a chance that when we will fight again and you can lend your shoulder to my mate?” I asked because I couldn’t control myself jealously.
The fact that she had his back while fighting with those vampires was bugging my head. Why was he being protective and careful of her?
“There is something called FRIENDS. So, I’m just trying to be her good friend. And another relationship between us is that I’m her vampire guardian. I will be staying near her all the time until she completes twenty years of her vampire powers because newly shifted vampires go out of control if correct guidance is not given to them at the time. And unfortunately for you, she has just completed nineteen days. So, you will have to bear with my presence.”, he responded. “I should be leaving now because I have some work to do.”
“And what’s that?”
“I have to figure out who was that person who had invited all the vampires inside the packhouse.”
