“You should rest. You just work up from…”
“I’m fine, dad. I really am. But you need to understand that I can’t sit lazily on the bed doing anything when deep down I know that I didn’t do a thing to get my mate back.”, I assured him about my health, and since my buddy was my side, I doubt anything will happen to me again or EVER.
“But you didn’t tell me how Eva disappeared from the room?” he asked, arching his eyebrow.
“Ahh! About that…she is half-vampire.”, I said and waited for dad to react. I hope he wouldn’t hate her for what she was.
“Who said this? Don’t tell me that you trusted some outsider over her.”, Dad asked sternly.
“No. She herself told me before leaving. Since she is half-vampire, that explains how she is walk-in sunlight. But at the same time, it also explains that Alpha Williams is not her real father. Do you think her mother was cheating on his father with a vampire? And maybe because of it, my mate is a dhampir?” Those words accidentally slipped from my mouth. I so much hate when mates cheat on each other.
(Author Note: Dhampirs are creatures that are the result of a union between a vampire and a mortal human.)
I would have doubted Angel’s character as well before I had an idea about all of these before because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, but yes, but it could roll.
“I don’t think so.”, And there came the voice of the traitor who had cheated on her own mate. Both dad and I looked at her. “I’m sorry. I just came here to check on Dan and heard the last piece of conversation.
“Why don’t you think so? Because the situation says almost the same as what Dan is saying.”
“Because I know so because Eva’s mother was my best friend before I got married. And at the time, she had a boyfriend who was actually a hybrid. I got a chance to meet him, but I knew him by his name, Orpheus.”
“Orpheus? Isn’t it the name of the Clan Elder of Bloodmoon Coven?” I asked dad to confirm that my doubt was right.
“Yes!! He is one of the oldest Vampires in history. But he’s not a hybrid.”, Dad added and looked at that woman. “Then? What happened next?”
“I don’t know in detail what exactly happened next and how close they were because I got married before her, but when I met her at her wedding, she told me how her family killed her boyfriend because he was their enemy and forced her to marry Alpha Williams.”
“So, it means that her mother was already carrying my mate when she was marrying Alpha Williams.”, Dad concluded, on which I shook my head.
“No. If she would have been pregnant at that moment, then all the werewolves would have scenes that. Probably, after marriage, she would have figured it out about her.”, I said, concluding everything. “And to figure out this truth, I need to talk with Alpha Williams.”, I added.
“Yeah! This idea will be great instead of cooking everything on your own and assuming things.”, Dad agreed. I was about to leave the bed when he held my wrist, stopping me from leaving. “There can be some ugly truth, Dan, which you may not want to hear, but you need to make your head clear that what do you what? And yes, without planning and plotting.”
I nodded my head in an understanding way. I wasn’t going to repeat the same mistake, but before that, I needed to change a few things.

‘Absolute.’, Roman agreed, knowing what I was thinking to do.
I opened the mind link to connect with all the pack members.
‘Hello, everyone!!
It’s your Alpha, Daniel Grint. I had to make an important announcement, so everyone, which meant everyone, including Men, women, kids, and old age people are, requested to assemble on the ground within thirty minutes.

Saying this, I gave a high five to my wolf, who was about to close the mindlink when we heard.
‘Is Alpha keeping a Luna Ceremony to finally mark the Luna?’
‘Is Luna expecting?’
‘That will be great. We are going to have future Alpha soon.’
I closed the mind link quickly because their expectation of me was hurting me more than anything. Only if they knew what their Alpha had done to their Luna, but to their utter disappointment, I was going to announce anything else.
Since I still had thirty minutes, I thought to check on the things which had happened in the past two days.
“Dad, can you give me a brief detail of what had happened in the last two days?” I asked dad, taking out my clothes from the closet.
“I will ask Stephen to share those details with you because, in your absence, he was the one who handled everything.”, he said. “In fact, let me call hi…
“No. Let it be.” I quickly cut him in between.
“What now?” Dad asked, arching his eyebrow when he saw me thinking something hard.
“I.. I have been thinking this for a long time, dad. And had shared it with Aunt…Aunt Emma.”, I said with difficulty. I knew I did snatch her mate from her life, but I didn’t mean to do that intentionally. I knew that I would feel guilty about that part all my life, but at the same time, I didn’t expect her to break my relationship with my mate.
“What’s it?”
“I have been thinking that Stephen has Alpha blood in his vein. So, instead of wasting his time over here being my Beta. He should think about forming his own pack. I mean, it’s not that I won’t help him in forming a pack. In fact, he can have this pack as well by defeating me, just like I did to you when I took over this pack from you.”, I suggested.
“He will never stand against you for some pack, Dan. You know that, right. And what you did to become the Alpha of this pack, that’s the requirement of any pack. Until and unless one doesn’t defeat the current Alpha, he or she can’t become the new Alpha of that particular pack because this is how he or she will win pack member’s trust and support.”
“I know the rules, dad. But Stephen can’t stay under my shadow all his life. I’m sure that if he will challenge another Alpha for the duel, then he can win it. I know he is not beta material; he has a lot of potential in him.
“Oh, okay! I get it because he just can’t challenge any Alpha like that. As per law, you can challenge only those Alphas who are mistreating their pack members because killing any good Alpha means a lot of hatred from the pack members.
“Don’t worry about that, Dad. I have already thought about that. I had done plenty of research on all this matter before my marriage to Alpha William’s daughter. I already know one pack which has an alpha who is being hated by their own pack members.”
“Which pack?”
“Fire Cross Pack”
That woman gasped before speaking, “That…that is the pack from where Eva’s mother belongs, and that pack is also protected by Alpha Williams after his marriage with Eva’s mother.”
“I know,” I said, nodding my head. “One of the reasons to marry Alpha Williams’s daughter was to kill two birds with one stone. Because by marrying his daughter, I could merge my pack with his, and then by using it as a benefit, Stephen can also challenge the Alpha of Fire cross pack. Since I will be the Alpha William’s dearest son-in-law, he will never attack my pack or me rather than fulfilling the duty of saving that pack from where his dead wife belonged. That’s why I made all this plan to use this marriage as bait to strengthen my pack.”
The moment I stopped speaking, a pair of two eyes were glaring at me.
“That was my plan before I met my mate.”, I added quickly.
“Or you need your mate just for your wolf? Or you need your mate just because you know that Alpha Williams won’t help you if he will come to know that how you treated his daughter.” Dad questioned my intention.
Though whatever reason he mentioned was making sense for a person like me.
And anyone in his place would have thought like that, but at the same moment, I knew that my mate was more important than anything else.
“I won’t risk losing my mate permanently by playing with her again.”, I said. “Now, excuse me! I will have to freshen up before attending the pack meeting.”, I said, walking inside the washroom.

“Thank you all for coming here at such short notice.”, I announced, using my Alpha tone. “As you guys might be knowing that I’m trying my best to strengthen my pack in the best possible way, which also includes my marriage with the daughter of Alpha Williams.” I said, on which many people nodded their heads sadly, thinking I got married to someone for the pack.
“But…Moon Goddess blessed me with the best way by giving me a chance to marry the woman who was also my fated mate.” A lot of people hooted while the wolves howled in happiness after learning this.
‘Alpha, we have heard that you had just married her but not marked her. Is this meeting for the announcement of the Luna Ceremony?’
‘Or we are expecting future Alpha in the next few months?’
‘Where is Luna? Why is she not standing with you?’
“Enough.”, I said, showing my hand. “I have called this meeting urgently because there will be some changes in the pack to strengthen the pack security.”, I announced. “I know the male warriors of my pack is no less than an assassin, but from now onwards, each and every female will get the same chance.” I could see the disapproval on the face of lots of pack members, but thankfully they didn’t say a word while there was a wide smile on many females of the pack. “I know many of you won’t like to see your mate, mother, sister, daughter in war or lose them. But at the same time, every female should know how to protect themselves when their mates, father, brother, and son are at war. Not only this, females are the ones who are harassed and assaulted in most places, although there are many laws against it. That’s why it will be mandatory for all the females to attend the training after six years. There will be a different types of age batches between them.”
“My second announcement is that there is a job opening for old age retired warriors who wants to work despite their old age. I know many of you feel bored by sitting at home, doing nothing. I can understand that; I mean, you all have spent half of your life by patrolling the pack border and fighting with the enemies. That’s why I need you guys to train the female of the packs.”, A lot of old-age warriors started smiling and grinning after listening to this news.
“My third announcement is that from today onwards, my Beta position is vacant. So, all the eligible werewolves can happily apply for it.”, When I said this. I could hear a few low growls, and no one seemed happy with my this decision. I looked at Stephen, even though he was looking at me in confusion but didn’t confront me in front of everyone. “I know a lot of you love and admire my brother, but unfortunately, he is not beta material.”, I added.
“My fourth announcement is that there are will Beta, Gamma, and Delta positions opening for my brother soon. So, interested werewolves can start their training from today onward. There is no discrimination between males and females. So, even females can apply for the position.”, Everyone understood my silent message.
“Now, that’s all for the day. I want everyone to the training ground in the evening. And the interesting werewolves for the trainer position can send their resume on my official email ID along with the weapons in which they specialize and the age group in which they want to train. Only after a background check will they be appointed as a trainer.”
“Alpha,” I heard a young girl calling me. I looked at her and recognized her as the daughter of my gardener. “Since Luna is your fated mate, then when the Luna ceremony will be held?”
“Soon. Very soon.”, I said, not knowing when my mate was going to return.

“Brother…” Stephen stopped me from walking toward my room. I turned around to face him. “Please don’t be mad, but what was that?”
“A silent announcement that will soon be going to be Alpha.”
“But I don’t want to be an alpha. I want to be with you and to help you with the pack duties.”, he countered back.
“You can help me in other ways as well, Stephen. I’m sure that there are a lot of people who can fill your position. Call me my selfishness or whatever you name it, but I want to strengthen my pack by merging it with your new pack. So, from today onwards, you better focus on your training.”, I said sternly, and the next thing I knew, a grown-up man jumped on me, hugging me tightly.
“So, you figure out this way to kick me out of your life.”, He asked softly.
“Yeah! I had to do something. Since you are not a girl like Nora to whom I can send to her mate’s house. I planned the things in another way.”, I responded, hugging him back.
“Haven’t you planned anything from me?”, We broke the hug, hearing the youngest among all. I arched my eyebrow while Stephen answered her question.
“Of course, brother has! Did you hear that he is planning to get you married and send you to your husband’s pack?”
“That’s… that’s so unfair!” she huffed and ran toward Stephen to hit him. They both ran around me, and Stephen was using me as a shield so that he could escape from this situation. “Daniel, help me!”, She requested and held Stephen from running around.
And after that, Nora beat him like a kid holding him by his hair.
I smiled, looking at them, and recalled that conversation, ‘Both Nora and Stephen don’t know that Daniel is their stepbrother, do they?’
How could I be their stepbrother? I couldn’t get that part.
‘Or maybe that guy was speaking nothing but nonsense. You shouldn’t trust someone whom you barely know!’
‘I doubt that I could ever trust anyone after what Aunt Emma did to me. By the way, where is she? Do you know?’
‘Yes! When you were in deep slumber, I had heard dad talking about sending her to the dungeon.’, I hummed, not knowing what to say next. My eyes landed on Diana; she was busy with her phone.
‘It seems like she is texting our mate.’
‘Maybe. I hope she returns to us soon.’, I replied and missed our mate.
